Happy New Year to everyone. I don't really have a message other than gratitude. Thank you for being along for the ride even if I've produced nothing as of late. Hopefully 2025 I'll release the civilian car project but I don't foresee any updates to playable vehicles. I've kind of run out of ideas. Anything that we add now (apart from helicopters) is just another variation or a vehicle which serves no purpose ingame. I'll consider my options but right now I'm thinking of a break from modding this new year. I'll come back when I have more motivation, time and ideas. I'll still keep to my promises no matter how late they come, at least.10 points

Alright besties. We're moving again. After a long long time of wading and wallowing in a lake of indeceison, my ass has been whooped into shape and some meaningful progress has been made with the team. We finally decided on a map area! 1:1 maps are hard but composite maps are hard too. After flip flopping between a dozen different ideas since the thread began, we finally decided to create a fictionalized, scaled, representation of the northeast section of Harlem, centering around the NYPD's 25th Precinct. By finally finding an area to focus on, we've unjammed the creative block we've all been suffering by trying to focus on so much to make. Now, we have specific, clear goals for what we're including, and with that we can move forward at an accelerated pace. So, to contradict my previous statement, expect some more screenshots and overall a lot more activity on the thread.9 points

I have very good news. The mysterious LAFD Ford Aerostar van has been found. Facebook retirees claim it is an EMS Supervisor vehicle. It shall be added to the mod. Thank you Sandra Lee.9 points

Spend as much time as you want outside this summer, you won't miss anything from us. We're a group of incredibly busy perfectionists. We work slowly and second-guess ourselves constantly. Progress and teasers will drop throughout the summer as often as I'm reminded to try and work on something.8 points

I don't really know what I'm doing anymore. I'm procrastinating the release of the mod, by making even more content for it. I'm trying to find motivation to actually model the remaining NPC passenger cars. In the mean time, these completed truck models will have to be settle? Have I sent these before? Maybe I did already. This is all I could come up with, in the last few months. After some consultation with GTA modders, I am happy to announce the confirmation of an Airport PD Caprice, a 1992. This is the best we can find. I am hopeful for a better picture to be found someday. Who knows what else is out there.7 points

Surprise, It's still going! Since my last development photo I built a new computer at the start of 2022 which didn't have a drive to install the disk version of EM4 so it was only until recently I bought an external one to install it. I come back with a shot from the map which shows an electricity substation along with a construction site behind and more New York housing.7 points

It's been a long time coming. I've wanted this for a while and I finally have the mental fortitude to actually make it. I'm looking forward to when I'm able to put the equipment and paint on this thing. It's gonna be so rad.6 points

Most of them have been lost to Discord. This is the only non-destructive image link that I have. Unfortunately it is a few months old.6 points

Thank you everyone. Really appreciate the greetings. Just finishing up the last 10 or so civilian vehicles that need to be modelled. I hope to have results in a few more months. This will be the last big update to the mod. I don't have much left in me but I am having fun at least.6 points

This would have gotten you executed when EMP was in its prime. That being said summer is here and as a member of the mod team I plan on spending as much of it intoxicated on my deck and maybe doing some traveling, I highly suggest you do the same and don't waste your summer3 points

Hey everyone! I'm making my very first mod, it's called Redwood bay, it's slightly based in NFS games and although the units are almost done I still have a lot to do, let me know what you think2 points
-
Quite a bit! I'm just terribly shy and I don't like to share my work until I'm totally confident in it's quality/"done"-ness. With that being said, I've stepped away from this project for a time to focus more on my collaborative project Project NYStalgia.2 points

Glad to see someone still working around this place. Looks good.2 points

Just stopping by to say "New Spec Found". I wasn't sure if LAFD had 72 Matadors but it appears they did. The speaker setup on these is goofy.2 points

Hey, just wondering since it's been a long while since anything has been posted or said, what's the status looking like? What still needs to be finished? Is there anything new? Have the creators been busy? Has this project gone dormant? There's no spite behind this message, just genuine curiosity. I've been following this project since it started and I think I speak for just about everyone when I say that I would absolutely love this mod to come out one day, this is by far the greatest modification the EM4 community has ever seen- It would be terrible to see it fall short. Best of luck!2 points

Last siren to be added - Carson double siren with spilt functionality (while you hold Ctrl - it will play different tune). Including latest Tomar lights pack from FInn Rescue. Sounds credit to: aipee315, chrisv4096.2 points

Thank you for the compliments EmC! I do indeed have plans for a revamped HQ. I'll be sure to keep you updated.2 points

Nice work! But now in my opinion HQ is out of place, you'd need to reskin it, maybe in more grey tones without color. And the nubers on gates could be replaced wtih emblems of PD-FD-EMS-Tech.2 points

Closest firehouses I could find next to the 25th Precinct are Engine 35 Ladder 14 Battalion 12 2282 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10035 FDNY Engine 58 Ladder 26 1367 5th Ave, New York, NY 10029 And the closest hospital in that area would be Mount Sinai 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029 And the closest trauma center would be NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, located at 506 Lenox Ave, New York, NY 10037 Fun fact, the 25th Precinct was used as a exterior shot for the 54 Precinct in Blue Bloods where Danny works as a Detective 1st Grade, part of the Major Case Squad.1 point

No. I'm fully commited to retro and anything modern will probably be something for the 2030s, when "modern" becomes retro eventually.1 point

After playing EM4 for the past 8-9 years, I figured it was about time I gave the modding thing a shot. Info: To start off with, this mod is and most likely forever will be private. I've pulled bits and pieces from so many content creators that tracking everyone down and receiving approval would be far too tedious, and releasing with out permission is not something I'm willing to do. This mod is **very loosely** based off units from Fort Worth, Texas. This has been just as much of a learning experience for me as it has been a fun way to waste all the spare time I seem to have found. I plan on endlessly changing and updating things as I learn new methods, ideas, and concepts, so I expect to be fairly active on this topic. Tips and tricks welcomed and appreciated!! As of the time of this post, I assume I've put roughly ~60hrs into the development. I'll try my best to answer any questions, and opinions are welcome! Plans: The goal of this project, as previously stated is to help myself learn what EM4 modding is. So far I've done texturing, map work, lighting, animating, slight model edits, scripting and added lots of custom elements. I'd like for this to end up not showing any significant signs of the base mod, and to feel entirely Lakeview. At the time of making this post, I have two units left that I plan to make new textures for. Next I plan on going on and attempting to model in some new fire stations, as with my current unit planning, 3 bays per station is not enough. New firefighter models have been added, excellent work by Bama, as well as new medic and stretcher crews. I do plan on redoing police and then eventually onto map texture edits. You can view all my screenshots here. Units: Gameplay: Update 6/10: Various credits to: Hoppah/LA Mod Team, Itchboy, Bama/Montana Mod Team, Blackout/Squad 55 crew, Mentor1159, MikeyPI, SOCOM552, NNico **if any other authors are missing, which I'm sure there are, please advise and it will be updated**1 point

To be fair, I first started modding when I was 12 so age really doesnt matter tbh. What matters is the maturity and how you are able to say, manage your time, be respecful and humble about it, and know where you need to put the work in. Modelling isnt an age exclusive thing, it just requires a good sense of space and form which can be learned. It isnt a 100% thing though, some people doing modelling can get the shape perfectly, others like myself, not so much.1 point
