  1. I read a few updates from prior pages, personally I'm more interested in the Mid-Mount if ya'll are still working on that. The additional buttons, etc aren't that much of a concern for me at the moment, I can do that stuff manually. Having more unit depth and a stable foundation counts the most. Aside from that which you already know the mod looks wonderful good job as usual.
  2. Food For Thought I'd suggest reading the first couple of post, no one will make a mod for you. Inevitable, if you want this mod bad enough learn to reskin, then reskin a couple of units and go from there.
  3. I have a question, in the banner there is a Nissan truck (it looks like it), has it been skinned yet? Just curious because I don't see it, but it's in your banner. It looks kinda cool BTW that's why I asked.
  4. The Emergency Series follows the same guidelines as most models, and companies. Each release contains units from the past + additional features / missions. The same can be said for modding. Each new release allows modders to do / add things they couldn't in the past. For this reason alone people don't step back and say Hey! I want to build a mod for EM3 when they could build one for EM4 and do more. Of course there are exceptions to this, but those who build exclusively for EM3 either have another EM4 compatible version, or already made their mod for EM3. Besides if someone was to pick up the game today they would go for the newest version, not the oldest. Since EM 2012 can't be modded, or much of anything most people choose to purchase EM4 or 911 FR if your American. That's why I compared 2012 off the bat and not EM2 or 3. They are irrelevant for the time, they have been supersede by newer releases. Now if there was a roll reversal and EM 2012 was modifiable then perhaps it would surpass EM4. Just for the sheer fact when the new missions end without modifications this game can become boring, and mods are what add new "sparks" to it. However, since EM 2012 can't I don't see any reason why it could hold up on it's own against EM4. The same can be said for EM 2 and EM 3. They are older outdated releases, EM4 can do everything those could + more.
  5. Indeed, I do agree. Yep, that would help the situation, give the world one more reason to hate the US. As IF we don't have enough already, no TY. A burial at sea is proper, it's the coldest, darkest, most unexplored part of the planet. Even if someone wanted to find him no one will EVER find him. Where he belongs, in the dark depths of the sea. Now we can rest in peace, and finally move on.
  6. 2012 Rants Have you read the numerous complaints in the 2012 section? This poll is almost equivalent to asking someone if they would accept one million dollars given the opportunity. Not to mention 2012 has a large Achilles' heel - you can't mod it. That's where the game begins, and where it dies. Thus, you fall back to the original, newest version of the Emergency series, EM4. Couple that with the mods created, and being created and it's a safe assumption to say it's the most popular, and best selling.
  7. Guess I should have read the first post , all this time I thought some units were missing functions. Now I see you did it on purpose, guess I got to accustom to being lazy. I'll plan more carefully next time I send units out, aside from that good mod.
  8. Impressive Mod. I must say, at first when I saw another LA mod I was like blah we already have a LA Mod I can't see what differences LACO would have. Obviously, in hindsight I was extremely wrong. This mod is very very impressive, those are some beautiful units in the work, and I will be eagerly awaiting it's release.
  9. Hey Dyson, just curious. Did you ever have a problem with the ambulance leaving station 1? Or the Hazmat getting stuck? Seems as though both units won't leave the bay for me.
  10. You can't judge everyone because of our actions, I do believe both parties can be civil. Although, I also believe certain people make that same sentence impossible as well. Either way you are correct our actions were not exactly forth coming. Our personal comments should have been sent via PM to each other respectively, for that I apologize on my behalf, and promise to let this rest. However, (and I'm not one to defend others) I do not believe Sawbuster was directly talking about your mod, to be honest the NY series of mods can be confusing. There are three, New York Modification (first / currently postponed), Yours ( New York Mod), and Dyson's (New York Submod). Based off his original post it is clear he likes the NY mods, but wishes more US mods were released. This aspect is once again clarified in his second post. You have nothing to worry about Mikey your mod is wonderful, and people are looking forward to future updates.
  11. *Clap* *Clap* I call it like it is, you insult people, sling derogatory comments at them, and create lies to support yourself. In the end what have you won? This is a losing battle, a losing battle for both of us. I am not here to walk on you, or derail your progress. However, I don't appreciate you calling me a dog or asshole either. With that said, I am like everyone else. I would like to see this mod succeed, it looks good, in that same sentence around every turn it looks like it's about to die. The only thing I am saying is post a couple more updates, it won't make you childish, nor will it appear to make your mod "competitive". That's my two cents though. /End
  12. I'm a dog huh? "Miami mod second breath [in Progress] HOT News!!! Pierce Quantum MDFR" To begin, where do you get "we restarted from 0" or "we are near alpha" from that? Don't see it on page one, or the header, hell I don't even see it in your signature. See your problem is simple. People like your mod but you too fucking stupid to see that. Instead you give people bland responses "work in progress", "do you see any new post", "we will post something when we have something". I don't care about your life I already said things in life slow you down. Your the exception to this though. You took for ever in a year to create this. People have done and redesigned the entire game complete with units and more, take a look at the NYC mods popping up. Yours ... a new bridge, some other odds and ends easily done in a day or so, and the skins. WOW hold on Scotty were going light speed! ... Stop keeping people on by a thread. People stop by and want to be excited, but how can when watching your mods progress is like watching paint dry. Oh, and forgive me you have other *cough* *cough* works in progress. Yep .. the same story there too. And I don't want to hear you had to restart boohoo who hasn't? Plenty of people overcame that hurtle starting from zero stop standing on that crutch. People want to be informed, people want to see this mod succeed, evidently you don't or you'd do more then drop a line every month or so. Don't worry though your not disappointing this dog one bit, the only true disappointing thing I'm beginning to see is you.
  13. It does rotate, but not manually. Once a FF is in the basket the ladder usually turns in the direction of the fire. If no targets are present, or close enough then the ladder doesn't turn unless you manually choose a target. However, before all of this can happen you must disembark the crew, set the ladder, and then load a FF into the basket.
  14. Just a fancy way of getting around his "no more suggestions" comment. If he hasn't completed V1, or at least gotten it to where he wants then why should he start planning for V2. Which even furthers THAT point, when he gets to V2 he will put what he wants in V2 then.
  15. Proofread much? Submods Released Submods W.I.P Mods (EN) You act as if the NYC Mod is the only mod available for download. If that's the case then I have taken the liberty to post a few links you may wish to visit. Their are a ton of mods both US and EU based that people can download. Now .. As far as THIS mod goes, don't hold your breath. They rarely update it, and who knows where it stands. If they are even working on it. It seems like every time I think it's died they post one or two snippets.
  16. From what I've noticed the additional units add-on is causing issues when I download the beta. If I attempt to copy the files over to the LA Mod with the additional files the NY Mod will crash. If I download the NY files onto a LA Mod without the additional units the NY Mod works fine. Not that it matters, the additional units were mostly LA based anyway. It's something minor I've noticed, I dunno if this is whats causing you issues. I'd suggestion downloading a clean version of the LA Mod, patching it, AND then downloading the NY Beta again. If it still doesn't work it could be something else.
  17. Do you have the additional units addon downloaded? I had to download a clean version of the LA Mod (with out the additional units) before I was able to get the beta to work.
  18. That's why I edited my comment, it's less confusing I think. I'll email you though.
  19. Hee - Hee - Hee Modeling and reskinning are still rather new fields of interest for me, and I know their are multiple ways to create a unit. With that said I have noticed a few small differences from your models to those of the New York Mod, most being the clarity. I would assume this has to do with what program you use, and how the images are placed. But the units in the New York Mod seem to be dull and semi-blurry. Where as yours seem to be more vibrant, and clearer in imagine. Either way a NY Mod not based on Manhattan and surrounding areas sounds better, why not Brooklyn? Besides every mod needs a reason for it's existence so here's one for yours. In 2004 the FX television series Rescue Me was first aired. It's main character Tommy Gavin (Dennis Leary) portraits a New York Fire Fighter on Ladder 62, a fire house located in Brooklyn. Ladder 62 / Engine 99 are fictional for anyone wondering, I just thought this might be something useful to post. I once remember you asking for a reason to continue. I gave you that answer: do it for the community. Which you have, and I am thoroughly impressed by your progress. CFD doing the lights, and a beta stage on the way, can't ask for more then that. Besides, if a TV company is doing something based on Brooklyn you know you can't go wrong On another note; NICE! pictures I like the FBI station, and the gate lol. PS: If you find yourself in need of help / test / etc let me know
  20. Just remember no one ever said making a mod would be easy. Hell I started making a simple reskin, or so I thought. Then my wife and I has a Son, then we moved, and then, and then ... Life happens, throw in computer failures, and other unforeseen events and a simple mod can become quite complex. Then you have to look at one other aspect. Everyone makes a mod for a different reason, therefore their units, details reflect that. Example; THE New York Mod: Not a lot to say about them. They were the first ones on the block, but they had one goal in mind. Create a game with the type of depth and immersion no one has ever seen. Have they achieved that? Probably, but look how long they have worked on that mod to get it to where it is now The New York Mod: (Mikey and Company): Not sure why they wanted to create a NY Mod, why not though? They did a pretty good job. People aren't as pleased with it (at the moment), but that doesn't make it bad. People have different taste, I've played it and it's pretty good. Once again though, they put years into that mod's creation. The NY Mod: You!: From that start this was a "Hold Over" mod, you said it yourself. The only problem with that was it's popularity. I'm sure at the time no one could have accurately gauged how popular this mod would become, and how fast it would become as popular as it did. You went from making simple reskins to realistic units. Then you even went the extra step and started working on the map too. However, and this is the good part. Look at how much time you've put into this, and your team. You've spent less then a year working on this mod, and most of it was done solely but yourself. Yeah .. You had help but we'd still be at the loading screen if we were waiting on your help to come through. Big picture, for now it appears every NY Mod has accomplished what they set out to do, and more. Since the TRUE NY Mod is on hold for now your mod has that extra fire in it because of the blood, sweat, and tears you've put into it. I'd say now is the time to tone out the other mods and do what you think is right for this mod. Instead of making large improvements work on one small piece at a time. Who cares if it's New York Submod V24.1.0 as long as it's working you have nothing to be ashamed of.
  21. Lets Play 20 Questions! Just kidding. The mod is great, and I don't know why people keep giving you guys suggestions. From my experiences you guys usually either know the answer, or have plans to meet what the community wants. With that said, I do have one small question. I noticed you have some units capable of water rescue, which means we plan on utilizing the water on this map. Do you plan on making any Port Authority units also?
  22. If I was Dyson ... * I decided to create a mod to temporarily hold everyone over until the New York Mod was completed * The idea caught on like wildfire, now people want a new map, newer units, and more realistic reskins * The community is becoming to impatient, asking for release dates, and arguing * The topic has been closed a few times to allow hot heats to simmer down * The team has decided to leave, now I am the only one carrying the mod on my back * Once again the community grows inpatient, fears of the mod being canceled set it * The mod appears to be on a raise once again * The original New York Modification is postponed * Mikey, Hoppah, and company release their own NY Mod * Now what? Something like that anyway. Either way I'm saying you've been through a lot, as has this mod. It doesn't matter who (regardless of their reputation) releases a mod. A LOT of people are looking forward to this mod being released. So what the A-Team releases their own version. Everyone will go ooh, ahh and drool on it for a minute or so. Eventually they'll all come back wanting to see what you've accomplished. You've come this far, don't quit now. Continue to work, and release something you can be proud of. Then, after that you can wipe your hands clean and say hey this is my best, and that's that.
  23. You think? People have been preaching about this issue for a few weeks now, and the "developer" hasn't done anything. This game is good I'd say 9/10 when it works. Unfortunately, it doesn't so until these issues are fixed it gets a 1/10. Thank You for posting pictures. You SHOULDN'T have to do that. If there is an issue with paths then the creator should fix these issues, which he hasn't done yet.
  24. Ah yes Dyson, looks as though the A - Team has returned. Impressive! I must say.
  25. Last Post: November 30th Typically when a mod goes without updates for a prolonged time, then it is safe to say the mod in question has died.
