  1. You don't need me. A US Army base is the perfect world. It does it's best to emulate the civilian world. The people doing these jobs are the only difference. Instead of having one person good at certain aspects of their job, you have one person good at EVERY aspect of their job. Yes. However, I just noticed your recent post about being a Cadet I wish you the best of luck mate, but you do realize on your current path this mod will probably be closed within days. Take the Oshkosh for instance, you said "the oshosk I think, will be my nightmare ". Based on past experiences the initial stages of a mod (the model creations) are the hardest, and most time consuming. You just made a highly detailed one in a day. A feat that takes the most experienced modelers here weeks. I'm not trying to judge you, I just hope you know what your doing. It isn't worth going down a dead end. It's more satisfying when you can say I created this mod.

  4. Do YOU know how a real military base operates, because your profile says your 13. I'm gonna guess you don't, which makes most of your comment null. I don't know where you got all this "info" from but on a REAL military base MP's will arrest civilians. Once you pass security your now under the Military Police jurisdiction. So, YES MP's will, and can arrest civilians. As far as doctors go, most emergency personal on a military base are military themselves. This means most "medics" are basic EMT classified, or higher. Theoretically speaking they are "doctors" to the extend of how EM4 classifies them. I'll elaborate more on this later, I'm in a hurry and have to go. However, being prior service, and living on a base for my fair share of time I think I know what I'm talking about. Aside from that, good mod. It is different, and interesting. Personally, I'm curious to see if some of those vehicles really do get completed. Mainly the Army Oshkosh, and I'm curious to see how it will implemented into the mod.
  5. After about 5 to 10 minutes pedestrians will get stuck around the fire department at the top of the map. They will also get stuck at the cross walk that cross the 4 lane road in the middle if the map. As for traffic, emergency vehicles, and tow trucks will get stuck in the southern portion of the map. Sometimes in other locations, but predominately in the southern area. However, we shouldn't have to remove vehicles from the map to make things run smoother.
  6. If this mod was properly translated so users weren't left in the dark as much then it would deserve a 9/10. However, since it isn't and the best we have at the moment is a PDF that doesn't translate everything (just a few basic commands) then this mod is only at a 3/10 since it's almost impossible to play unless your German. Or have a lot of time on your hands to understand everything inch of it.
  7. If this works your a genius, I could have used this myself I had to reinstall all of my mods (had a file mess up someplace). I can see the potential applications, and I'm sure will save a lot of extra headaches if it reaches it's full potential.
  8. Oh man I almost fell out of my chair laughing. 1.) Men of War 2.) Ruse 3.) Order of War 4.) CoH How is CoH even considered the best RTS, when it has other more note worthy contenders.
  9. Why? In most states the fire department either parks in front of the building (for structures), on in a manor to create a protective box (for MVA's). Not to mention New York doesn't have a lot of open space, nor does the FDNY care about being in someone's way. They are responding to an emergency so every second counts, if they get in someone's way to bad, that person can spare a second or two too go around. The MOST useful thing would be a command from ERS Berlin ... one that allows you to direct traffic in a certain direction. However, that is not here nor there, or on topic. I'm sure they have addressed every possible problem, and any problems that arise after the release will be swiftly taken care of. Besides, look at how much time they've put into this mod, I'm sure they have their T's crossed, and I's dotted.
  10. No shit you didn't think I knew what it meant? What did you think I thought hover meant? That the units were going to magically fly around the map? I know exactly what it means, I'm not stupid. It doesn't work, not sure why, but by now I've figured out what each unit does so it doesn't matter. Paths are the more pressing issue, or lack there off. Pedestrians, and Units continually get stuck and I'm hoping this problem gets fixed.

  12. Pedestrians aren't the only thing getting stuck. I noticed when I call for units off map they get stuck entering the map (by the train, or other cars). It appears to me the paths needs to be fixed. With that said, is their going to be a patch released to fix this or are we going to have to do this ourselves. Also, how do I rescue someone in the water? Which unit has a life raft.
  13. I played this mod once or twice in the past, didn't get into to much. Although, a new coat of paint, and someone taking the time to fix this mod up might be exactly what it needs. Good Luck.
  14. Well .. I've read every single word on the first page, AND everything ya'll have just said, and even I have problems. So, if this guide is "easy" to understand I guess I'm stupid because I'm having trouble converting these "easy" files. For example ... I want to open the BLS engine, and do some changes 1.) I load the game up and find engine2.v3o 2.) I click Unpack 3.) I move the folder to my desktop 4.) I find the file fire_engine2 (PS: why is there already a .dd file next to the .v3o?) 5.) I rename it to .dds 6.) I open the converter (which I downloaded here) and the converter still can't find it 7.) I try to open it with paint.net and it says there was an unspecific error opening this file So, what am I doing wrong?

  16. A lot of fires can cause the game to lag, which is why I'd assume they have the fire at it's current time limit. At least a lot of fires lags on my computer and I have a decent computer.

  18. So, whats the deal. I heard people say they were working on an English translation, and now I see nothing. Is this mod really that easy to learn? If not I'm changing my vote, no point fumbling around trying to learn the controls written in another language I don't understand. Not to mention I still see people complaining about the same issues when this mod was originally created.
  19. I have a question. I'm trucking to unlock one of the fire trucks. Now in the main topic it says I need to rename the file to v3o. and unlock it via the editor. Well, I noticed the file is already in .v3o format, and there is already a dds file too, but the dds converter won't recognize it, any reason why?
  20. Or .. You could do what I'm doing. Since I don't know much about modding I'm doing a Clark County mini-mod (reskin) http://www.angelfire.com/nv2/chucksfirepics/ClarkCountyFire.html The LA mod goes it the same feel, sorta, just without the bright lights.

  22. First, lets try turning the CAP lock off. --------------------------------------------------------- Nice Border Patrol Truck, I haven't seen anything like it. It would DIFFERENTLY be awesome to have in game.
