  1. Oh THANK YOU. You have no idea how hard it is to play without some translation, even the simple things
  2. I'm a little confused. I see Bastain is on their case, are these their own models they've made. Or are they copy and paste models with little work, of which they aren't giving credit to the true creator?
  3. I can't wait until someone translates this mod. It looks good, but being in German it's extremely hard to try and play.
  4. GREAT looking mod. I do have a question though. - Will their be an English translation of this mod? Or at least, a small translation of important functions?
  5. Wow .. I'm speechless, he made such good models too. Just shows you can be here one minute and gone the next. RIP mate.
  6. Err. I'm a little confused. I noticed some of ya'll are making incredibly realistic looking New York fire apparatuses. With that said I also noticed the mod says "on hold", but I see units being made. So .. is this temporary because of bugs and other events. Or something more along the lines of permanent? ~ Thank You
  7. http://www.angelfire.com/nv2/chucksfirepics/ClarkCountyFire.html I've been working on my own Clark County / Los Vegas private mod. I've ran into a few issues (along with lack of time) with Hazmat 24, and Rescue 21. Adding a second axle, and the tiller are holding me back atm. Good Luck Though
  8. Do what you feel is right, look forward to seeing the end result.
  9. I knew this day would come, and I can't say I'm any less disappointed. It never ceases to amaze me how people lose the most rudimentary motor skills such as reading comprehension, and common sense. I'm surprised Mikey was so nice to you all. The last few pages were horrific. I can't believe people turn the blame, and aim it towards Dyson. Someone how took his own time to make this mod for this community, for free. But .. as usual people find a way to ruin it for everyone else. So, I'll quote Mikey since he did a better job then me Take the time, sort out all the clearly visible issues that you can, extensively have it tested by proper beta testers and then worry about releasing, people can wait or they can go whine somewhere else. Do it right, then worry about releasing
  10. Your finished? LOL Edit: Nice Haz1Mat too
  11. Good videos, but I doubt it will "spawn" many ideas, unless Dyson intends on doing some scripting . Also, the game can't mick real life, it gets close but somethings are left out. Example: Rescue 1 has more equipment besides airbags, jaws of life, medical bags, fire extinguisher, and fire hoses. However, due to the games capabilities those are about the only task we can do in the game. Things such as thermal, pikes, venting fans, etc are left out.
  12. I know your new, so this is probably the best time to tell you. Your not suppose to ask for release dates, it's frowned upon by the community. No one is paid here, everyone works on their mod using their own time. So everyone feels as though you should respect that and be patient. You can get warned, temp banned, and more for doing it over and over. Like I said though your new, figured I'd tell you now before a mod does . They still have a lot of work to do on this mod anyway, I'd suggest checking out some of the other mods that are close to being released their all really good.
  13. Err. That's still kinda pointless, I mean those calls are sorta rare anyway. Besides you end up killing it anyway, and officer can do that Or at least that's what I do ...
  14. Oh Wait! You need to make a nosey reporter who gets to close to the scene, and pesters emergency responders trying to get the "best" shot. Spreading lies in the background about things they don't understand. "We are live here at blah blah, where WE believe a terrorist just set off an explosion" *Fire fighter walks up* "Um no, the car fire started after the accident" "You heard it live on fox! Go to commercial Tom!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Side joke aside that looks like a good mission, and it's only a picture
  15. New York is no different then LA. You cant capture the essence of either city from one or two view points. You are right on the competition but it should be fun competition. They'll make things that people like, and you'll make things people like. Either way, and I said it before. This mod (or whatever your gonna eventually call it) WILL be in the top 3 or 5 most played.
  16. C.F.D is right. Besides the community is ignorant, I don't want to be mean but it's true. Half of the people (aside from the staff) actually know what goes into making a mod. The other half just assume it's click and play, or copy and paste. The community will always say release the mod, then when they see what they really got they'll complain because it's missing something. Even if you told them, people don't pay attention. And as far as anxious people go .. so? Make them wait some more, they've waited this long and nothings happened to them let them wait some more. That's a good thing = more people wanting to play the mod when it's released. Besides why put all that effort into a mod and then release it when you know it's not 100% done. I'd hold off for that short period of time and make it right. People don't like it oh well, everyone might complain now but in the end people are happy with the end result it's proven time and time again.
  17. Suffering from amnesia? How is this a community project? Are you talking about the same community that whined about release dates, and updates every three seconds. Then complained about the release date, and started playing back seat moderator. The same one the constantly requires mods to babysit them to prevent them from spamming pointless information, or fighting overs who's right and who's not? Sure the community might have submitted the ideas but YOU and YOUR team did the work. We Most of us waited patiently until you reached a proper release date, and after some childish fighting from the community the mod was placed back on track. This mod is a presentation of the New York Sub Mod team, why sell yourself short. If you think it needs a few final touches take that week, or week and a half to make it right. I can GUARANTEE YOU people well complain regardless of what you do. So, you delay it, people complain blah blah. Once it's released with all the shiny new engines everyone will go "oh ah", *drool*, and be happy. Compared to the flip side of people playing it for a week or so being content, and then back on the bandwagon of when are you going to release the other units. I've watched them do it to other mods. Think about the past LA Mod versions 1.8, 1.9, 2.0. I can remember countless people "asking when will it be released", and complaining about this and that. You don't see it on the forums because they were probably banned, and their post deleted, but it did happen. No different then now.I know I haven't "sugar coated" this in the best way, but I'm telling you that ya'll should wait and delay it until your good and ready to release it. It's all about your expectations, it's your work, and do yourself proud by adding that shiny new engine. A week or two isn't long.
  18. People don't like to wait, which is why a lot of establishments are built around "speed", and I'm guessing that has a lot to do with this mod as well. If you noticed a lot of the spam, etc went away after you told people it would take roughly two weeks before you finalized the mod. Not surprising, either way you will find a modeler how long that takes is a different story. I expect traffic to pick up once you release the newer mod. Either way keep up the good work I expect it to be great either way, especially with the lights from CFD.
  19. What happened lol? Everything seemed to be going smoothly, that's a pretty big bump in the road.
  20. And you shouldn't. You've said that since day one, and you should do what you feel most comfortable doing. PS: Not surprised you got burned out, I can't blame you. Good to see you back though anyway.
  21. I'm glad you posted this. People fail to realize how much effort goes into the creation of a mod, or any game in general. They just think it's copy and paste, and poof you have a mod. They didn't, just like you didn't read. He said when get got a UV Mapper he would post and estimated release date, which he did. Which is why your not one ----- Did any of you wanna be mods ever think for a second that the real mods aren't watching this topic. Your 2 cents aren't really needed. They will deal with the trash as needed. Obviously this is a great mod, it's just depressing that people ruin it with stupid shit, and that's about all I can say it is. @Dyson: Your mod is great, you know that. I find it funny in the beginning you were like "I don't have much reskinning experience", now look where you are. It one version your work has reached a whole knew league of it's own. I know you said you were just creating this mod to "hold us over" as you said, but you've done more then that lol. The true NY mod is in a league of it's own for creating everything from scratch. However, in the realm of reskinns, etc your mod is the best there is. When all the mods are finished I can almost certainly say this will be one of the top 3 most played mods. Good Great Work!
  22. WOW, that's about all I could say when I saw the pictures.
  23. LOL C.F.D .. Have people really copied your work and claimed it as theirs just so they could help you create realistic lights. Either you have a large following, or people are really desperate to see what new and amazing lights you'll be unveiling for the NY submod next.
  24. I dunno though that means you have to rush what if something happens? Take your time lol polish it so it's nice and shiny.
