New York Modification {In Progress}

I have a good computer, so it shouldn't be a problem for me. As long as loading is fast, then it's fine. I'm sure it'll take up a lot of space though... :gruebel:

Well I have close to 5 TB worth of storage(combined) so it shouldnt be a problem for me either :P I was just curious to see how the size turns out.

FF/Tim, will you guys be hosting the mod on a dedicated server of some sort, or will you be using free hosts like rapidshare, or will you use the EMP download center?

you can choose between three different traffic levels, cars which stuck somewhere disappear after 15 seconds

Does this happen if a unit/squad is stoping traffic?

question; when you have a car fire and the fire is out, if the car is left there to be picked up by DOT will it disappear after a while?

you have to pick it up in every other mod so why wouldn't you have to in this one?

There wont be A map per say. They havent gone into great detail about it but there will be various maps to represent the various parts of NY City like China Town could have a map, as well as Bronx, and Manhattan.

China Town is part of Manhattan.

Realistically DHS does roam the airfields, but every single one of em that I have seen were "ground vehicles" that were totally unmarked, in most cases they don't even have government tags on them, unless you look in the window you'd never know... So I can't see where a purpose for them would come into play really. Last one I saw was a Jeep Commander with State tags not gov, and it definately was not lit up for emergency response.

no, there are no fireboats

maybe later but not planned in first version

does anybody know if when you are fighting a fire and you have personel on the roof and you want firefighters in the building will it show the men on the roof and the fireman in the building at the same time?

I've flow a couple of times in the past couple weeks out of Newark and I've seen at least a dozen marked DHS units there.

I believe that they originally said that we would be able to use that boat. When they said there would be

no need for a fire boat, I believe that they meant there would be no need for something as large as Firefighter II for firefighting but we'd probably need something like an inflatable for rescue ops.

The only reason for it is that unlike most mods, this doesn't have a full vehicle list on the front page where the creators want as much of the mod as possible to be a surprise.

I don´t like the idea. FDNY have some good fireboats :angry:

How often do you actually use a fireboat within a mod though? Or the campaign for that matter.

With the amount that WLL be in this mod, I have no issue of saving on some of the file size to not include boats.

I think the amount of space you had to operate the fire boats on L.A 2.0 showed how useful they are.

Given FFW TUT's reply, I am going to assume either there is no water on the maps we will be given, or that like me, IMO an engine is far more useful/versatile, so why waste time modelling/skinning a boat.
