Amity Island Modification
itchboy replied to Oberfrankengamer's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
Thats more than reasonable. Its a fair trade-off for allowing the station to have functionality. -
Amity Island Modification
itchboy replied to Oberfrankengamer's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
I gotta ask, does the script also show/hide any firefighters who happen to be upstairs when you press the second floor button? The second floor concept is excellent use of the Em4 walkable surfaces btw. Great work. -
I'm just trying to ensure there are no issues with the content. There's no issue with copyright law btw. Its good enough for us that you mention where the sources are from.

It appears to be a sound file that the game uses. I put it in and it didnt change the riot sounds. The real sound appears to be found in the Lang/en (or de) folder.
-
If possible, please list the sources or places where you got these sounds from.
-
Check if your graphics card settings weren't messed up and enabled some kind of incompatible feature in Em4.

This topic hasnt been active in 7 years. Please dont bump topics. Take note that the OP hasnt been active in years. That should give you an idea that they have no plans to update their creation.

Make sure all of the model's textures are in the same folder as the v3o file.

This topic hasnt been active in three years. Dont bump dead topics please.

It would be cool if you could source the siren tones of the Honac controller you're emulating.

You need to edit the freeplay files. There are several threads on this site about editing those files. Here's a video you can also refer to.

Your issue has nothing to do with his Limited Water script. Please dont post unrelated issues in this thread.

Be patient, the author(s) will post updates when they want to. You dont need to make a post explicitly asking for an update.

More model WIPs. Special thanks to @mrlanier for making a positive ID on the ladder being a Pierce Lance. Big thanks to @armyconrad for letting me ask him lots of questions about quints, and for identifying the rescue cab + body. Model cabs by me. Rear bodies on both vehicles by @Dennis Reid Also, I need some inspiration for the firefighter turnout labels on the back. I want to know what's common and if possible what the fonts would be.

I have no plans on doing a newer one for this mod. Ive heard about other people making their own Tahoe but nobody's finished any. If only they'd give us Emergency 4's source code. Ive also (not-so-secretly) had this model partially completed since last December. I really like the look of these open rear cabin trucks. I cant wait to finish this one. Model by me. http://www.emergency-planet.com/uploads/monthly_2018_03/DSY1biRVoAERyZ1.thumb.jpg.5597ce04b540a102370dff218333a9c0.jpg

Dodge Intrepid WIP. Model made by me. I'm surprised how well it turned out despite spending very little time actually working on it. I followed through on the poll results. This one needs mirrors, a bottom, UV mapping and a texture. Next up will be the 90s CVPI.

Having issues with "Breached Levee Near Town"
itchboy replied to PanzerShrek's topic in Mission Related Support
I eventually got frustrated enough that I went into the editor and took note of the paths that the debris had. I found there were several pockets where I could hide the boats at while debris passed by. You will need to put all your effort into handling the fireboats instead of multi tasking with other mission aspects. If not, you may find your fireboat getting hit by debris or stuck in a vulnerable area. Em4 AI is baaad so sometimes you will even find your boat going backwards, making it even slower, so you need to reorient it from time to time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUEKtRv3uxA Heres a video of the 'fastest' walkthrough I could find. Its not in English though. https://web.archive.org/web/20091105001451/http://www.emergencyx.com:80/mission-08-flooding-after-dam-break.html?Itemid=129 Here is a text-only walkthrough from a defunct Em4 modding website.- 1 reply

How to make a new supervisor video work in a mod?
itchboy replied to Rafael's topic in Modding Related Support
The modded supervisor videos must be placed in the main Em4 game folder. It will not work when put in any mod folder. -
From what Ive seen, nothing is wrong with your game based on your logfile. The game launches and closes down correctly with basic Em4. Have you tried saving and loading with default Em4? It is increasingly looking like its a problem with the mod you're playing and not your system.
-
Try sending your logfile.txt as well. My theory: The mod you are using has bugs with Em4's save/load feature. Its not anything with your system, but we cant be sure. Try playing default Em4 and observing if you encounter issues. Ive also had to temporarilly remove your signature because it violates the terms of service. Its too large of a resolution and a filesize. Please resize it by half if possible.
-
Nobody will come to your aid if you expect everyone to do that for you without you doing your own part to learn how to map, model or script. Ive seen very many mod requests like these, only for the projects themselves to die out because nobody actually knows how to do what the mod 'leader' demands.

Is there a guide on how to make custom campaign missions?
itchboy replied to PanzerShrek's topic in Modding Related Support
http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?/tutorials/article/16-mission-making-tutorial/ This is the tutorial link. Here are the files for it. It was hard for me to figure out but I eventually made my own set of 3 custom missions. The knowledge I learned from this "mod" helped me create the missionscript being made for the upcoming Montana mod as well. -
Go to the 'technical related support' thread. There is a topic in there that will show you where the editor is.

Amity Island Modification
itchboy replied to Oberfrankengamer's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
Those could work, but they'd need to be rebuilt in order to match the level of quality seen in the other models. The reason is that they are models from 2009 which lack doors and have low res textures. They were the best for the time, but times have changed.
