  1. Oops. There goes any chance you might have had at getting any help. And your topic. And 5 days of your posting privileges. While you can't post, I believe you can still view posts, so I suggest reading this - a handy guide to modding written long ago by yours truly. Sadly, I don't think it says anything about "Don't call people fucking idiots and insult a whole nation if you want help" (I would have thought this one goes without saying, but you just proved me wrong - my bad), but you'll still find plenty of useful tips on what to do and not to do if you want to start modding: http://forum.emergen...e-your-own-mod/ Enjoy.
  2. Topic closed by author's request. *sigh of relief*
  3. Sometimes I wish I could just close this topic because I can't understand a word of all the gibberish that is being spoken here. Seriously, it makes it much harder to deal with something as complex as alleged model theft.
  4. Marco, could you PM me close-up screenshots of the vehicles from your mod that appear in his mod so that I can do a comparison? Thanks.
  5. I see you've already got 2 warnings for asking for release dates. Would that be a subtle way to ask for one again by pointing out that the Manhattan mod has one? I hope for your sake it isn't. Been a while since I used my mighty Banchainsaw™.
  6. Yeah, but as I said, I don't care what the laws in any country say you have to do to protect something. Maybe you have to register it. Maybe you have to take a picture of it. Maybe you have to do an interpretative dance number. I don't care. On this site, the rules say "Ask and get permission, or be banned". Simple as that.
  7. Ok, it seems we may be stepping into a hazardous territory here, so let me make this clear once and for all: This site (Emergency Planet) is a private entity, which has its own rules. These are the rules that will be applied here - not the copyright rules of the European Union, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Kazakhstan, or any other country. Ours are stricter, by the way. These rules are as follows: -If the readme specifically says "You can use these models", then you can use the models. -If the readme says "You have to ask permission before using the models", then you have to obtain permission from the author before using the models. -If the readme says "You can't use these models", then YOU CAN'T USE THE MODELS. -If you ask for permission but do not obtain it or do not obtain an answer, then YOU CAN'T USE THE MODELS. Now, here, we do not care if there is a copyright ("©") symbol or not, or whether the model has been registered with the patent office or anything like that. If you didn't make it, it's not yours, and you can't use it unless you obtain a permission to do so. So you may be in the clear, in the legal sense of the word, about using models that aren't yours, since I'm guessing 99% of modders do not register their work legally. Which means they can't sue you. BUT... there is a but... we are free to ban you from the site at any time if you do not follow the rules that are in effect here. And the rules say you can't use a model you didn't make if you didn't secure permission first. End of discussion.
  8. Yeah. Like when, you know, an evil moderator steps in. *clears throat* Yep. I'm here. So it might be a good idea to cut the "gimme gimme" talk right about now. EDIT: After a brief discussion with Dyson, we have agreed to close this topic until further notice. Sadly, many seem to forget that modding is merely a volunteer hobby performed by people who may also have school and/or work to deal with. No matter how mature any of you try to make yourself sound by voicing your "frustrations", it still sounds exactly like what it is: a childish and selfish sense of entitlement. Modders don't get paid. Nor do they have any kind of schedule or obligation to which they must obey. They do this for fun, and they give you any update they can (or none at all) as they see fit.
  9. See, that's exactly why I told you that relying solely on Google Translate to post in English is not a good idea. Please practice safe sex with your links. Thank you.
  10. Please use the edit button, as otherwise it also makes the forum very messy.
  11. The official languages of this forum are English, and Dutch in some areas. NOT Portuguese. NOT crazy-sounding gibberish that makes no sense whatsoever. I'm cleaning up these posts right away, and will remove any further post that is not written in (understandable) English. Repeat offenders will be banned. EDIT: And it is my understanding that some people here are claiming model theft? Please PM me if that is the case, and I will look into it.
  12. This mod is (most likely) dead. Topic closed. Mod author: Feel free to contact me to reopen the thread if you resume work on your mod.
  13. Anger issues much? Some of us have shitty days sometimes - me included - but you've just pushed the limits of aggressiveness, stupidity and general douchebagginess way beyond acceptable levels. My level of tolerance for that kind of behaviour, especially coming from new members, is pretty low. You mention you're in college - and your profile information says you've been bragging that you're almost 22 years old. Why don't you act like someone your age? Right now you sound at least 10 years younger than you are - and much less mature that most younger members of this site. Your posting privileges are hereby removed indefinitely. Feel free to contact me by PM if you feel this is unfair, and we'll discuss it, provided I feel like I'm talking to a fellow adult. Topic closed. Oh and everyone else involved: Seriously, guys? Using the report post button is the right thing to do, and I thank those who did so, but that doesn't give you the right to fuel Internet arguments. Nobody wins these damn things anyway. There have been many replies here that were over the line in terms of profanity and personal attacks, and next time I won't stand for it.
  14. Seems like your sig pic took care of it for you.
  15. Don't worry. This was most likely his last post ever.
  16. lol wut? Seriously, about 5 reports have popped over the last half hour about adprod, who doesn't seem to be able to use proper English. Adprod, if you see this, you can't post anymore. Feel free to PM me in intelligible English, and we'll see what we can do about giving you your posting privileges back, m'kay?
  17. Is he... is he pretending to get shot by a bullet that hit behind him?
  18. Breaking the ice for March with a scratch-made entry: 2007 E-One Cyclone engine from the Montreal Fire Department.
  19. Honestly, the likeliest answer is "none". Rockstar Games has not released any other detail about the game apart from the trailer, and seeing as other much more believable "leaks" have been proven bogus (such as the supposed map leak), this one doesn't hold the least bit of credibility for me. Besides, listen closely to the voiceover in the trailer... "I wanted to retire... from that line of work... be a good guy for once". That doesn't sound at all like your average rookie cop fresh out of the academy, now, does it? Lest we forget the voice actor also sounds rather middle-aged, and someone who may or may not be the main character of the game is seen bursting out of a van with an assault rifle and the clear intent to rob a bank. It's a safe bet that GTA will never be played from the other side of the law - at least not for the whole game and with the same depth as you describe (for starters, even the name of the game wouldn't be fitting anymore - might as well rename it "Police Quest" and reboot the classic 90s franchise). Right now, I'd say the only believable rumor about GTA so far (and which would be revolutionary on its own for the series) is the possibility of having two or more playable main characters in the game. This was hinted in the trailer as the voiceover (and the man prominently shown on screen) is a middle-aged white man, while there are also many shots of a black man wearing a white tank top. If the GTA4 trailer is any indication, Rockstar usually uses the main character and some of the in-game cutscenes when doing a machinima trailer (if you look closely the blue car and grey sedan at the beginning of the GTA4 trailer, they're driven by Niko). The GTA5 trailer seems more cutscene-intensive, but if you look at the cars being driven, they're either driven by the white guy (blue convertible, black "Audi R8" convertible) or the black guy (jetski, red convertible with the retractible roof, same car again during the police chase at the end).
