  1. Maybe that was asked before (Couldn't find it in the topic though), but would it be possible to call units from outside the map? I.E. have battalion chiefs call for units that aren't patrolling or in a station, like the Hazmat truck or MCU, so that they would spawn from the side of the map (as long as you own one) just like when you manually dispatch them? If that was possible, it would be great to call for outside help from special units (Hazmat, MCU, fire plane), since some situations can become tricky in a matter of seconds. In the same line of thought, I was also thinking a police equivalent of the battalion chief could eventually be useful (something like a patrol supervisor or captain, maybe?). He could have the ability to call for a SWAT team, a hostage rescue team (scout + negociator) or any other police vehicle that might come in handy. Also, if calling units from outside the map can be done, police officers should be able to call for a towtruck on the scene of an accident.
  2. I've been trying to use Zmod 2, but whenever I try to import a v3o file, I either get an error message followed by a crash, or an instant crash. The error message is something along the lines of "invalid command in" with a file name, preceeded by meaningless numbers and letters. (I'd like to put the actual message I got, but now it seems that importing a file immediately crashes the damn thing). I tried changing the graphic settings to every possible configuration, but the same thing always happens. So does anyone know how to fix this? Or, better yet... does anyone know if there's a v3o filter somewhere out there for Zmod 1.07, which I've been using for years without problems? Thanks!
  3. Geez, man, stop asking. If there are any news, you can be sure that Hoppah will post about them.
  4. I personally agree with that idea, but I also agree with Hoppah's idea of keeping units with their original purposes in his mod. However, that's something you can easily do yourself with the built-in game editor and a text program such as Notepad.
  5. Great work Hoppah! You're the man! :1046275747_biggthumpup: I believe Hoppah clearly said there would be no FBI units in the EM4 LA mod.
  6. Say, is there a way to increase the limit of vehicles you can buy in Freeplay (or make it unlimited), or is that hard-coded?
  7. Sweet! Great job, Hoppah! :1046275747_biggthumpup:
  8. I do have to agree, maybe slicktops would be too much since there are already 4 squad cars (5 if you count the upcoming Camaro). At this point they'd be mostly eye candy, I guess.
  9. It looks nice, too :1046275747_biggthumpup: By the way, I knew I had forgotten a few other ideas this morning, here they are : First, this one might be a little controversial due to the easiness it adds, and I'm not sure it would possible to do, but it would still be a very realistic addition nonetheless : police cars could carry a fire extinguisher, and policemen could be able to use it. In real life, police vehicles often arrive at the scene of fires and accidents before the fire department does, and it's sometimes necessary that they start to extinguish small fires before they get out of hand. It even happened to me in the game, there was a car fire and the police were already on the scene, but for some reason the fire truck got stuck somewhere, and by the time it was on the scene, the car had exploded, injuring one of my officers and setting the whole street on fire. Maybe a smaller extinguisher could be created (as it is the case in real life) that would be less effective against the fire, i.e. slow down the speed at which the fire spreads/consumes the cars, or extinguish it but slower than a standard fireman extinguisher. Then, standard LAPD officers, CHP officers and LASD sherrifs could have a 12-gauge shotgun as special equipment in police cars. As far as I know, many if not most departments in California carry shotguns in case officers find themselves facing a particularly dangerous assailant. Then again, I don't know if it's possible to edit an aimable weapon that acts like a shotgun does, i.e. shorter range and heavy damage. I guess the default range, if not editable, wouldn't matter much if we say they're firing slugs instead of buckshot. Finally, if you feel like adding more police cars, slicktops would be great. Basically, they're fully-marked police cars, but with interior lights instead of top-mounted lightbars. Here are a few pictures : LAPD: Slicktop CV Slicktop CV 2 CHP : Slicktop Camaro Slicktop CV Edit : Links fixed.
  10. It looks more like a prison bus. These are usually used to transport prisonners to a prison from a police station or another prison. Paddy wagons are smaller and are used to transport arrested people from a crime scene to the police station.
  11. Hey Hoppah! I just got EM4 the other day, and haven't stopped playing with your mod since then. This has to be one of the best mods I've ever played on any game! Great work! I thought of a few things which might interest you for realism purposes. First, I don't know if that can be changed, but when you send a police officer to redirect traffic, he waves around that german red wand thingy. As far as I know, there's no such thing in North America. Instead, police use a flashlight with an orange cone-shaped cap over it, here's a picture : http://www.tacticalflashlights.com/flashli...-WD-PRO4000.jpg Then, I don't know if this has been suggested before (haven't found it in search), but a paddy wagon (prisonner transport) would be great, especially when you have to stop a riot and find out you don't have enough cruisers at the scene to carry all the arrested felons. I haven't been able to find any pictures of a LAPD paddy wagon, but if you like the idea, here are a few ones from the NYPD which could inspire you.
