Has anyone else seen the Facebook page started up (manhathan mod is just a money scam) its bloody shocking who set it up their just trying to annoy you guys

Actually the guys on MERU are the guys that very rarely post on here, I made my points, nothing about die hard fans.

Personally, I think it's a big bad idea to make a mod clan exclusive. "Here's a half finished version, if you want the full thing you have to join our clan" If people join, most of them will join only to get the mod, and then stop partaking in it as soon as they have it, since you have no way to take it back. Not the best idea so far as I'm concerned, but that's just my opinion
With the greatest respect v2 isnt an incomplete v3, v2 and v3 are just different versions, different areas, different stuff etc. Our (well mainly my) decision to make it a 'clan' (I hate that term) exclusive isn't to spite anyone, it's to move this mod back out of the spotlight. The mod skyrocketed in popularity, as most do, and frankly it's made modding a chore rather than a hobby. I prefer to go back to the roots of modding, to why I started. I can actually speak to the people that want to play our product, I can avoid people coming just to give grief, if they really want to play, they come to us. It eliminates the public forum aspect, which I do like, but putting a piece of art on the internet (metaphor not calling the mod art) is open to childish behaviour and unreasonable grief, why I have no idea, but that's how it is. Whereas hang it in a private gallery, where people can just come to take a picture and be on their way, or can stick around and enjoy with the creators and others who also enjoy the product, and even chat to myself and Rafael. Now I don't know about other modders, but that style of modding I far prefer, there's no ties, no contract saying you'll need to constantly come back. I don't personally see the issue, but meh, if you want what I'll be making I guess you'll have to get it in the medium I display it, that's the be all and end all. Hope noone finds this in anyway offensive, or as an attack on fans, but that's how things are gonna be. Given you guys a good portion of my teenage years so if I packed in tomorrow or went private I'd hope there'd be no hard feelings.
Anyway that's my FULL EXPLANATION, again, so please read before just questioning my decision again, but yeah that's me out. Patch coming this weekend, v3 sometime in the future.

Maybe you guys see this as a stupid question, but I am not that good with computers. Although I love playing Emergency. I have followed this forum for a while, but I have never had the feeling to respond. I love the LA mod and this Manhattan mod. I have always had fun with V1. I am glad V2 is released but I don't know how to play it... As I understand I don't need mod-installer for it.
The steps I made:
1) Downloading the mod
2) extract the file
3) Installed the mod
And that is where I am now... I don't know what to do. Can somehelp give me the further steps?
P.S. I Don't think saying 'You are sooo stupid' is needed. Just tell it me and let me learn

Check you have installed to the right directory, some users it may be named /Wizard Works/ rather than Sixteen Tons, have a look in your program files, alternatively install to the desktop and copy the files manually, although this will take some time.
And I'll always give a friendly response, don't worry about seeming noobish

NEWS
Yo guys, ok patch 2.0.3 should be finished tonight, this will be a straight 2.0.1 (On this forum) to 2.0.3, if you have 2.0.2 it will also work fine, but is not needed to patch

This patch will be with an exe again, but will also include manual installation files for those who prefer it.
This patch is mainly balancing, bug fixing and gameplay related, but also features new lights for R1 and some new traffic accidents etc, so have a play see what you think.
As far as we know this will hopefully be the last patch update to v2 HD, we're pleased with the overall 'playability' etc so no need to carry on work.
Version 3.0.0 has begun work, we're going to be working on the map through till around christmas, in the process we'll also be revisiting v2 and releasing 2.0.3.5 (I know long winded, mainly so it's archived on my pc correctly) which will be better known as the Standard Definition Release. So don't think we've fallen through on our promise to deliver that.
Just to reiterate, Version 3.0.0 will be a M.E.R.U exclusive, as we're hoping to step back out of the spotlight of scrutiny for a while and just have a bit of fun with that version, we hope our fans will understand.
Also MERU is hosting MP games this weekend and next, so to play with me raf and our group of guys, head over there, new members are always welcome, and there's no ties so you can come and go as you please

Anyway with added pressure due to personal lives, both of us not at home currently, progress will be slow, but we'll keep you guys updated with pics and videos, but it'll be a private only release

Why don't the ladders have the jaws of life on them. Like in real life
Gameplay, it would render the Squads and Rescues less useful, unrealistic, but a benefit for gameplay.

Makes sense, though I'm not sure why it has the command then.
Purely human error, we're only human, we make little mistakes like that.
It's referenced to when E8 L2 B8 had a station on map, the command wasn't removed.

Two things 1)why is v3 not public 2) love this game the atmosphere is perfect I had a gas explosion on park ave which was intesting lol

I have tried the newest version of the modification for some time. The map looks very promising and has a good and genuine NYC feeling imo. I didn't find the gameplay that entertaining yet. My compliments for the map though. Keep up the good work.

Yeah I wanted to concentrate on 3 aspects for the new version -
- The Gameplay
- Atmosphere
-Map
I think we've achieved the true NYC atmosphere, and well the map is almost 100% accurate. But yeah the gameplay is limited by our ability to script, I would have prefered to differentiate the mod more from LA gameplay, like the NYC mod did, but yeah that's something I hope to improve over time.
But thanks for your kind words and critique of the mod, it's always appreciated from anyone, let alone renowned modders like yourself.
As for news, I've only got on my PC for very limited time this last month, it's been my freshman week, so pretty hectic.
Just want to let you know what's going on, I know Raf has been keeping yous updated.
-Patch 2.0.3 will be released in around a month fixing additional bugs still unresolved after Raf's patch, also some model edits and tweaks for balance.
-2.0.0 Standard Definition will begin work downgrading shorty after the patch.
-Version 3.0.0 (exclusive to MERU) has also begun work, concepting the project mainly, then the process of shifting location (map units etc) will begin.
Any questions we'll be happy to answer.
Thanks for the continued support even though me and Raf have been somewhat occupied.

Have an issue check our FAQ on the front page, if there's no tech help then there's either no known solution or its something on your end.

Thanks, and just to clarify, the new version (2.0.2) will be a patch update, it will see model edits, more lights, bug fixes, and tweaks in gameplay and units.
However devolepment of this, the SD version and v3 is all postponed until we can find time to work on these projects.
And just to reiterate, version 3 will be a MP community only release, so in essence a private version, whether it's for em4 or 5 is still debatable.

Hey Dyson this is just a small suggestion maybe for the RAC u could maybe have it deploy a small rehab type tent just for realism? that's just a suggestion but that's down the road fixing the bugs is first priority
. amazing mod so far guys keep up the amazing workSupport vehicles will be given more active roles in the patch update, for 2.0.1 they were just made usable if that makes sense?

Patch 2.0.2 is currently being worked on, this will just be a basic updater patch.

So for any bugs you have found, please, read through the last few pages, these bugs have more than likely already been reported, and this patch will take care of them all.
The first post has now been updated with both available mirrors
Mirror #1 is EMP, so feel free to rate the file and submit a review.

Ofcourse it's bug free when you remove like everything.
The only thing that had to be removed was the huge buildings.
The scripts were fine, and only needed some tweaking.
V1 was great, but not playable by many because of the huge amount of big buildings.
Remove those, tweak scripts and maybe add some more, and the vehicle adjustments and you have a V2.
This is not a V2. This is a V0.5

I've never ever seen a good mod that didn't get critics.
Do you seriously believe 'you destroyed it' was constructive criticism, it barely qualifies as criticism, more just a cheap shot at the mod.
You are correct you are welcome to your opinion, and this is why I don't want to put so much effort into something for comments like that, I remember when people would do a reskin on paint and people would be like yeah looks ok, which was the polite way, or someone saying maybe do this or that, this just epitomizes my opinion on this forum now, it's so hostile, why would I want to release my hard work into a minefield when I could just create something privately for a few people who are mates because they really enjoy my work, whether you do or not that's that.
Don't be so quick to call everyone else childish and respect other members and developers.

I appreciate the gesture voodoo, I guess it's not people having a go I mind, it's just months of work which is then uploaded to a forum where all the peers are of similar interest, yet they seem to hate it. That's like turning down free stuff, that's how hard it hits, my reasoning is I don't want to spend another 6 months on the public project dreading releasing it to a choir of haters, I know people like it, but we get so much grief, far more than any other mod team, so it begs the question what's the point?
I enjoy modding, and our clan mp group I enjoy releasing it to them, they seem to genuinely enjoy playing our stuff, well why else would they be there, but on a public forum people aren't here for the mod, they are here for numerous reasons.
I don't want to seem like I'm dragging it out, I just want to fully explain my motives for my decision.
Me and Rafael have now spoken properly and have agreed to resume v3 privately, so only members of our MP group and close Em4 mates will be included. Sorry to all left out, but I hope you will empathise with out situation.

At the end of the day, I personally put a huge amount of effort into this mod, effort that could have been placed in any number of other projects, both online and real.
I shouldn't have to defend my work, not being bigheaded, but this mod is far more than the average 'reskin' and a few models from the online database type mods.
After releasing v1, which was also fairly stable, I contemplated working only privately with a few guys we know, they enjoy our mods and we're good friends, but rafael talked me into staying a public project and version 2 had begun.
After the comments we've received today, I for one no longer wish to contribute to this community, it's no longer fun and friendly, people are throwing cheap shots for no apparent reason. I'm not just whining because 'I can't take criticism', I took a shit tonne of criticism, in BETA TESTING, where it was constructive and useful. Like I said I shouldn't be defending this project, I'm pleased with it and I think it's pretty good for free.
Anyway as stated I'm now in Uni, these last few days I've been working on the mod between parties and lectures, but it seems once again wasted time, so in summary, I've spoken to Rafael about v3 being private, so this topic will be purely pictures etc, it's up to him, I wouldn't be annoyed if he continued public, but there will be no further public contribution to this mod project from my end.
Apologies to the few that will enjoy it, hope it's good and gives you a realistic simulation of the FDNY, but yeah after 2 releases and 2 rounds of 'slate the mod', I hope you'll understand my decision.

Well there we go, I destroyed a mod that everyone hated on anyway. And on that note I bid you all fairwell, tried my best, but it's been thrown back in my face.

There is assigned parking with a small amount of acting engine/ladder parking, we'll be posting a full parking list soon.
And by the way, to everyone that just read the comments above and has now been put off, I'd like to assure you this is not a beta, this is a near enough bug free release that myself and rafael have put longhours in to complete, especially for 9/11.
But it's up to you guys to try it.

Alright for all of you that jumped the gun lets chill out yeah?
Version 2 requires you park any units you wish to use for the game, by default ALL STATIONS WILL BE EMPTY.
We also released with a few rigs not lit, because we were short on lighters, we advertised a lot, this is easy to patch though at a later date.
And the traffic, for real? We got so much grief about traffic, so we reduced it to an easily managable level.
Anyway, yeah, around 6 months work there guys, nice to see you're disappointed.
I'm sick of having to defend my mod to you guys.
