]hi MOD IS AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEESOOOOOOOOOOME
?

i noticed in V2 that the fires were really easy to put out is it going to be more of a challenge in V3 to put fires out?
yes much harder

I had my PC hooked up, I edited the config to 1080p and it worked fine. Note however that if I use dual screen the resolution messed up, but if I used just the monitor it worked fine, perhaps try this?

The map is 100% to scale besides the addition of R1 which is in reality just off map, but we stuck it on

There's 3 on map stations, Rescue 1, Midtown (E54 L4 B9) and Engine 65.
We're also adding a precinct, but no hospital.
This is more a simulator than a game, giving reduced unit choice and a larger map, more realistic to the actual FDNY response areas though.
This means longer responses and a wider range of responses across midtown rather than just responding a few blocks over as seen in v2.
Hope this answered all your questions.

Alright guys some good old fashioned screenshots.
Today we want to show off to you, Engine 54, which has been re-worked since the previous version, so I believe is a good way of comparing our updating process from v2 to v3.
Also we'd like to show off Bryant park, one of the many areas on map. Again to give an idea of what kind of map we're working towards.
And finally a little gameplay, Engine 65 on scene of an EMS run, Paramedics have now taken the scene.
We're really excited about the way v3 is turning out, so any feedback from the community is very much appreciated.

I'm struggling to think what will make Emergency 5 different from 4. I really am struggling. I mean, its not like any of us here play the vanilla game?
I think the developers felt their game (base em4) was overshadowed by mods, they wanted to release a vanilla only game to try to prove (em2012) which backfired with low sales and zero interest.
I think they have reverted to ability to mod, accepting this is where their fan base lies. I think this said the development will be heavily focused on improving the game for modding capabilites, which if they do will have benefits for everyone, gamers, modders and the original developers alike.
However if they fail to improve the game beyond em4's capabilities I doubt many will disregard numerous mods in favour of a recycled engine. So it's really up to them how successful the game is, they're gonna have to deliver something real good to draw people away from em4.

Well we all have our own opinions and I just voiced mine. I didn't say anything to you about your post. But whatever ok done with this.
Yeah I don't mean to personally attack your post, but there's a lot of blind ignorance by Americans when it comes to this discussion, no offence of course.
People are too wrapped up in trying to keep firearms that they refuse to even consider the benefits of getting rid of them.
Just know that this will happen again with guns bought legally on innocent victims.

Ok well we have our own opinion. Here's what I have to say about it. There's no reason why that guy ha to go shoot up an elementary school but I live in America and anyone who is not a felon is allowed to bear arms. That is they way the US constitution is written and it won't ever be changed. Any US citizen has a right to defend themselves. The kid who shot up the elementary school took his parents legally owned weapons and killed those innocent people. Taking out weapons away is not going to solve anything it will make it harder to defend ourselves from danger and people who want to hurt others. Now if the principal had a small hand gun or something under lock and key in her desk and the office knew about it and the kid was shot and killed by her none of this would've happened and ended the way it did. I don't think a principal will ever be allowed to have that kind of stuff in the school bit things can be stopped by one simple good person trying to keep others safe. The police can never protect everyone at the same time. People need to be able to defend themselves and their family. That is just my opinion.
A principle with a gun???? This is when discussing the right to bear arms gets stupid.
What do you need to defend yourselves from? People with guns? WHO WOULDN'T HAVE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE if you outlawed firearms to citizens.
I personally think there's no argument.

In American, Patrolmen need their weapons to survive 'First on the scene, the last to leave' Patrolmen run into so much shit that is would be absurd for them to not carry guns. I bet there are sick people in the rest of the world, but like I said, the USA is running at a much higher speed. And you never can control everything. Officers are constantly ambushed, attacked, and put in danger. Our town is generally peaceful, but a cop died here in the 70s, we are a pass through town for a lot of hard drug dealers, and something like this event isn't too far off from what could happen here. Cops don't fight to be fair, this isn't boxing, they fight to win, and people tend to freeze while looking at a gun, doesn't even have to be out, holstered, still as intimidating. Plus, SWAT is like 45 min out for our town.
Look at this: [Cops Shootouts with Teens] And imagine how it would go if the officers were unarmed. More like this: 2 Auxiliary Officers Killed in the Line of Duty isn't it?
"If your ready for everything, you still aren't ready" And you can quote me on that.
I agreed with you, guns should be for cops only.
Leave weapons to the law enforcement professionals...
But to allow the average citizen to own a gun is absurd.
-
Just weighing in, I have to agree with Voodoo on this, stricter gun control is the bottom line here.
To have laws that allow the average citizen to carry a deadly weapon is absurd. Leave weapons to the law enforcement professionals, I think the US invites these kind of attacks when you allow the use of firearms. I think the argument is very unbalanced. People claim that the use of firearms is needed to protect oneself, however fighting fire with fire does not seem a sensible idea.
I'm guessing you're all familiar with escalation theory, it's something that is applicable in all countries. In the UK, where I'm from, I do not agree with the right for average police officers not to be able to carry firearms, but to allow the average person to do so would never be allowed, it's immoral, as stated above this creates a militia citizen. Our escalation does see some gun crime, however because guns are extremely hard to come across gun crime is rare and only seen in extreme crimes, in which Tactical units are deployed. Whereas in the US where any average person could have the ability to shoot a police officer dead, the escalation leads to semi-automatics or full on assault rifles, the likes of which are very rare in a lot of gun controlled nations.
Personally I think it's absurd.
On a side note, I was appalled to read this...
Just food for thought

Well, I'm not going to comment on my personal opinion of intel graphics, but intel seem to not offer the support for our mod. Yet almost every other graphic set up works, or can be tweaked to work.
Sorry dude.

hmmmm i feel like that shouldn't be a problem since i bought this computer less than a month ago. ill try one thing. Since, when i downloaded the game on to this computer, i didn't change any settings and the game worked perfectly. Ill try and turn off the shadows. Do you think that would work?
theres a dxdiag below
It's not a question of Computer age, it's a question of graphic setup. Integrated graphics, even on a new PC are unable to cope with the demand placed by this graphic intensive mod.
Again other mods and original game will still work, just this mod. We've added a new map full of unique high detailed buildings, which requires rendering etc.

There has been endless discussion about this, the bottom line is, intergrated graphics cannot handle the mod. We're working on a downgraded version but that's not yet finished.

Got the same Belgium
As I explained several posts ago, use a proxy and there's no music that would cause it.

Very good work Dyson. Two questions:
Is E65 a single company house or did you just use that for the purpose of the video? I'm not that familiar with FDNY so I thought I'd ask. On V2 there seems to be a lot of driving against the flow of traffic even though the map shows the travel to be in the same direction. Example is the road in front of Batt 10 is a one way going left...west...(??) but every time there is a call they go right/east...does that make any sense? The map shows the traffic flowing the opposit way in some cases. Sorry if this is confusing....but will that be the case again in V3?
C.
It's simply just a bi-product from the use of one way streets and em4's engine. We've tried everything to get round it to no avail. We think the running against the flow of traffic, however unrealistic, is the best compromise for a realistic map. We have made changes to address this issue in v3, we've made all streets running across map (West to East or East to West) which in reality are one way, 2 way roads, that way engines will drive on the same side as traffic going in the same direction. However it's simply not plausible to do the same for avenues such as 7th 8th and 6th (which are the 3 in v3), avenues are distinct in how they look. However again we've given dedicated Fire lanes which allow units to pass through (sometimes against the flow of traffic) and on 7th Ave where there is no dedicated fire lane, we fluctuate which lane is dedicated to fire from intersection to intersection, thus giving the impression that cars travel down all lanes, but allowing units to pass through. However again on 7th this is both directions, so yes there will be some occasions where units head up 7th which is a south bound road.
A very good question and I hope my answer fully covers your query.
Really like the looks of the station!
Thanks! It's one of 3 on map, Rescue 1 (Single Rescue Company House) Engine 65 (Single Engine Company House) and Midtown (Engine/Ladder Company with Battalion too). All are as close to real world as possible, both in location and detail, in around and of the house itself.

Mid-mount isn't for the Chicago Fire mod.On Chicago Fire we add RS1(Reserve Snorkel 1, its appear in few episodes), and Squad 3a (Fictive, same model of Squad 1A).
If the mid-mount isn't for this mod why's it in your list of screens? haha

why is part of Times Square got blue swirls in it?
http://www.bustler.net/images/news2/sonhetta_times_square_01.jpg
That's more a question for the mayor. After Broadway was shut and made into a ped zone, artists were challenged with making art to style the area.
We just copy the real world we don't ask questions

Not sure why, but when i try to watch the video it says that im not allowed to see in my contry(Denmark).
Any specific reason?
Nope, there's no music or anything, try using a youtube proxy

Some more videos to show off Times Square
A lot of the buildings have not yet been placed but traffic systems are now functioning and around 35% of the final building placements are done.
Thoughts/questions?

More progress of the mod soon.
Still not entirely sure what you meant (before you edited your post

But don't worry about it, the models look top, looking forward to seeing some skins on em too!

People always gonna hate, just sometimes fans aren't as vocal as people that'll jump straight to PMing etc.

I posted up there "At the same time, out of Chicago Fire mod." and a picture of one tower ladder after that I received a few pm's from people who interpreted this as a criticism that exist only mods from NY.
I've been say that this tower is a model I'm doing and not a criticism of the mods NY.

That post made no sense
but I don't think anyone is criticizing your work, everyone including myself seems to love the models!

Looking nice, hope this does see it through mods like chicago will widen the scope of mods out, will be good to have something that isnt NYC or LA

Good luck

First off, despite the fact that I volunteered some of my time to consult with this mod, I am a moderator first and foremost, so let's play nice so I don't need to act as a big mean moderator.
Ah, okay, I don't think I was quite clear enough. I'll rephrase. We are making a new map, yes, however the map will not be for the freeplay game mode, since we have all pretty much decided that the feel of freeplay is more of an arcade type thing than we liked. Technically, I supposed we could throw our map pieces together, place a couple vehicles on the map and wait for the game to spawn an incident, but our map is not designed to work with the traditional freeplay, so in game footage is a bit of a hard thing to do, and it would only show the vehicles moving to a call, and doing things.
That being said, we have started work on a bunch of things that will make ingame footage, but if we posted screen shots, it'd be kinda boring, I mean it'd basically be scripts upon scripts, since that's all a missionscript is until it's functioning.
I'll tell you what, since you've all been good sports up to now, and I haven't had to extend the banhammer in the last little while (I'm getting old and that thing is rather heavy), I'll make a promise that as soon as we have the basics done for a call we'd like to demonstrate, which means at least one station down and the call, we'll play it for you. That's a promise you can hold me to
Thanks for the response, that's all I was asking. I appreciate taking the time to answer as I always do no matter who, and your response re-assures me with both progress and that we'll see some gameplay in the forseeable future.
Apologies if my questions came across differently to how they were intended, and I'm excited to see more.

Hey,
I've asked my crew to hold off with the in-game footage and materials until we have our buildings and props completed for show case. I assure you that the map development is on-going, and when time comes to reveal the game world with it's correct canadian geographical counter parts, the wait will pay off, big time. So, in the mean time, while our guys are working on it, Todd and I will focus on apparatuses until it's all done for good.
Thanks, Dyson.
And there's the answer I was looking for, shame I had to go through half the teams random answers. Anyway y'know my opinion awesome as always, I really cant wait to see the gameplay and map side of things, any mod that takes on map making always interests me, distances from the original game, so I hope you capture the Canadian essence
