  2. Seriously? Post the script in the big box, hit submit and post the URL..
  3. Change the vehicle type to match the HES. Otherwise you need to enter the entercar.script as it sets which units can enter which vehicle.
  4. Dont get an alienware. The cheapest alienware I see starts at $900 USD so I am going to assume your willing to spend atleast that much, but whats the max you would spend? A custom build is the best thing for a ~$1,000 budget. While you may give up a slight performance edge to an alienware in some cases, you know you are getting high quality parts that are less likley to fail then the parts from an Alienware. Now I need to know a few things, what games do you like to play or look forward to playing(as in games about to come out)? Do you have any parts you can reuse like a monitor? This will help pack more bang for the buck. Heres a basic out line of what you want in a custom build: Core i7 950 6GB DDR3 RAM Corsair 1333MHz Gigabyte Mobo w/ 1366 Socket Intel 120 GB Intel SSD - For running the OS,Apps, and Games WD 1 TB Caviar Green - For storing your models and anything you download like music and movies. Corsair 650-750 PSU - A 650 will be more then enough likley but the 700 will give you more room to upgrade in the future. Video Card- This depends on your gaming needs. A 5670 is a cheap but pretty descent card. It would handle EM4 just fine, but if your looking to play GTAIV I think your going to be settling for low graphics settings. Although a 5770 might be a bit better for rendering in 3DS Max. If your really serious about modeling you may want to look in to a workstation video card in the future. They suck big time for gaming but they blow gaming cards out of the water when rendering for models in 3ds.
  5. E7 has became E88 for the sake of realism: http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3640/em4deluxe20101222012530.jpg http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3604/em4deluxe20101222012542.jpg http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/2534/em4deluxe20101222014552.jpg I updated a few things here: Added E88 under the front window, added E88 on the equipment doors on the sides. I also touched up the LA Fire Dept text on the rear cab doors and the class 1 text to have a black stroke around the font just as it does in real life. Also notice the edits to the equipment doors. The 2003 Pierces used roll up equipment doors which wasnt really detailed in to the skin. I removed the Paramedic markings from the door to match up with the real life rig. With it's flat roof its easy to tell it is a Paramedic Assessment Engine while E288 is a BLS Engine. Now nether of these engines will be at FS2, nor will the E17 reskin I did be included at FS2. I wont recal the station number for FS2, but there will be a PAE,1 BLS Engine, 1 Truck(If Quint 9 is done at the time of release it will go in there, otherwise a tiller or the tower ladder will go in the last bay.), 1 ALS Rescue, and possibly a Battalion Chief. I may move the BC to FS1 in place of the District chief unless I come up with some good commands for the Division Chief. For comparison here is a pic of the real 88: E228 http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/38/em4deluxe20101222012629.jpg http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4539/em4deluxe20101222012642.jpg I still need to update the door text here, but I moved the 288 text to the equipment doors towards the back of the truck. Heres a great pic of E228 for comparison: http://mikesphotos.us/gallery2/v/Action/Fire-EMS/LA/LAFD/FireStations/FS88/E288/LAFD-Jumper-Ventura-020.jpg.html
  6. Again we cant help you if you dont help us, post the script because we have no idea what you have changed each time. Yes you have to post the scripts EVERY TIME you change something. Try using http://pastebin.com/ to post your script so we dont have to scroll past 1,000 lines of code to get to the next post.
  7. Then why don;t you do it if you want it THAT bad. Have a little appreciation. They have put alot of work in to this mod, and nothing says the have to make another one either. Not to mention, it would be time consuming adding new events. Even if they added it to there existing map they would still have to take the time to add alot of events!
  8. I think what he meant is it is just to big to be on a map if it was designed to be anything like the real thing, and even if not the one airport terminal model in the mod is the one from the mission and its HUGE. Not to mention, in terms of realism, you would need some sort of air port police, which would probably just be a reskin of the CV, so no big deal there, but then you have atleast 1, if not 2 airport fire stations, and that would require all new rigs.
  9. In latofire station fix this line: const char OBJ_OBJ_LADDER2[] = "mod:Prototypes/Vehicles/02 LA Fire Department/aerial_ladder2.e4p"; If you do as I posted earlier, with hitting retry it will tell you what line the error is. Although its not always exact if your missing a bracket like this {.
  10. Yes but it hasnt changed any from the other submod, and the only thing I recall changing from the original LA Mod in there might be the section that tells the 4th and 5th unit to go to the police station, and I cant recall if that changed. The SWAT,Bomb Squad and so forth utilize diffrent scripts.
  11. This has nothing to do with the LA Mod. As soon as you lear to follow directions, and post in the right place, I might actually tell you what to do.
  12. I have the station lay outs set in stone aright now, but I am not going to reveal them at this time. Let's just say it will offer some variety. They are not 100% realistic but I have aimed to keep them more realistic then the original 4x4 submod did. However, I do have some updates! I talked to Kookas and he is back on board modeling! So hopefully we can have soemthing to show you in the coming week or two. Still no word from helljumper on Quint9. In the mean time I have updated the lights for the ALS and BLS Fire Engines to the latest version from LEDesigns. However, I have also backed up the existing prototypes as well and simply changed there file extension to .bak. This way you,the user, will have ATLEAST 2 options for lights on these rigs. I hope to see more lights released and if I decide to upgrade any other units, I will continue the trend of keeping a back up prototype handy so you, the user, will have atleast some choice in lights. Now I expect some people will like one set or the other, some won't like either, but atleast you will have a choice for SOME units. I have also taken time to update the skins for the ALS and BLS engines as there were some errors. For example the front license plate said Engine 77 or Engine 288. This was updated to say E7 and E288 since they dont actually say Engine on the front plate IRL. Also moved the side number of the ring to the back end on the side rather then being up by the pump panel as this was incorrect to. Also on the back the trucks currently say 7 or 288 when it should say E7 or E288. I am undecided if I will take the time to update the back of the trucks only because the numbers are so well hidden there almost impossible to see in game anyways unless you use a camera hack, and even then you have to get the right angle. I will be updating the tiller skin slightly to I believe. I have also updated the skins of the Rescue Ambulances such as putting there unit number on the hood, and changing the color of the hi-viz(red/yellow stripping on the back) as needed. I have also started porting the current project over to w00ds Map v2. Thats still awhile off but just getting this project going. It will have a some what different station set up then both the 4x4 submod and this project. Before I close out this post, I would like to thank Billyfromhill very quickly for assisting me in research. Also to USMan, MT275, and griffy who have volunteered to help the project get going again in various aspects of modding.
  13. http://pastebin.com/qZu9HBq6 Download, rename to loadup.script and place in the scripts folder. This will allow you to tow the car off with out shooting it.
  14. I want to scale NNICOs CV down to the same size as Hoppahs CV using Zmod2. Is there some quick and easy way to do this?
  15. No problem, I sometimes forget, then when i see the v3o empty i realize what I did wrong!
  16. Well I havent seen it done but if you say other mods have done it, then obviously it is possible...how? I can't say. I would suggest looking in to the tga files from the game/mod. You need something like Paint.net(not paint that comes with windows!) to open them. Atleast I think Paint.net can. I use Photoshop CS5 so I cant say for sure.
  17. If they just did it to get out, why devote the time, money and resources to a project you(quadria games or however its spelled) dont expect to sell well and risk not profiting from when you(quadria games) are an emerging company and this is your first project? Huh?
  18. Your right there is no answer. You know why? 2 reasons, I didn't post one. You know why I didn't post one? READ this post again:
  19. Was this a request for a submod or a submod your planning on making?
  20. Why didnt i think of that? lol Guess im a bit rusty from my time off. Alan, to do this, open the editor, load the LA Mod, hit F1 to open the prototype menu and choose vehicles. Now choose LA Fire Department. Click Aerial Ladder, now hit clone. Then save it as aerial_ladder2.e4p. Now in the script at the top define aerial_ladder2.e4p as a constant with the name OBJ_LADDER2. Then for the second station replace OBJ_LADDER with OBJ_LADDER2.
  21. you have to name the v3o EXACTLY the same as the name that shows up in the left column. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/7546/zmodeler220101219205334.jpg See how it says crown? I think you have to export it has crown.v3o, you can edit the name on the left colum where it says crown to say LAPD_CV for example, then export it as LAPD_CV.v3o. You could also export it the first way, then open the v3o and edit the model name like you do for a reskin. Hope that helps.
  22. Then why post it here burried in a thread rather then starting a topic where it will get more exposure? No there really is not a step by step guide. You just have to look at the examples on the forums, and simply learn how to it by trial and error. Trial and error is a big part of scripting no matter how good you are.
  23. Ok my bad. Not familiar with new york, but it was more to illustrate my point in regards to the mod then it was to be a factual presentation of new york.
