  1. Well this isnt LA Mod related, but the station I grew up by was a 2 engine house. Eventually it was torn down and rebuilt with a third bay for the BC. Anyways my point is it is now stocked with 2 ladder trucks. I am guessing one is a quint to be technical. So if there was an MVA requiring extrication, My guess is the ladder truck(not the quint) rolls on this one. You could always script the HES to part outside Station 1 and 2 and then you have them on the map already.
  2. I am stumped here as I could have sworn there was a truck some where with a rotating flood light on the top of it? I thought maybe it was LA Mod for EM3, but wow I havent loaded that for so long I see how far EM4 came and it doesnt look like EM3/LA Mod would have had the capabilities of such. So I loaded EM4 with out the mod, couldnt find it there. Nor have I seen it in LA Mod fro EM4 as best as I can recall. The closest thing I can think of is the engineer and his mobile flood lights. So what I am asking is, am I delusional here that thinking this was in EM4/LA Mod some where.?
  3. ^I had no idea it was like that these days. I cant believe people would rob the ffs like that. I dont exactly approve of stealing in the first place but that takes it to the extreme there. Now I realize why one of the stations I stopped at today had heavy duty locks and key pads on the doors. I did get to stop at one station and they were more then happy to even pull the trucks out for me. Of course I only asked for 2 of the 4 trucks but still. Not to mention the station is a run down POS and houses 2 Engines, a brush and a Chevy 5500 Medium Walk In Rescue parked in 2 single file rows. Happy to open the rigs up, explain the uses of the rigs. Hell he even pointed out that there main pumper has 1500 gallon tank while most of the city trucks have a 500 gallon. Explained why they also special in Hazmat, and alot of various reason for there apertures and techniques. I also have another question. :$ A BLS FF would not be trained/allowed to use a defib right? So why do so many fire engines carry them if they cant use them?
  4. Just making sure but your making the edits in the mod folder right, not the game data? I thought about doing something like this to. Any chance of a sneak peak?
  5. I would say Chicago. First of all because I love the city. Used to road trip up there quite often. Secondly since your a Chicago Firefighter, according to your name, then obviously apertures pics would be easy to obtain. Plus it gives you an edge because you know already know the apertures equipment and there various applications.
  6. Not a problem bama, hoped it help. I think Mikey and I were saying the same thing he just explained it alot better lol.
  7. Im sure there are people here that would do it for free. And heres soemthing to consider. Zmod only needs to be purchased to import files, but i believe it can export regardless. I could be wrong, Anyways the point is you can use zmod to create and export units untill you decide weather you can be a modeler or not. You can always save your models as zmodeler files and open them this way.
  8. The best way i have found is to get a straight top down view. Then it will move front to back only. Then get straight in front or backof the vehicle or at the slightest angle possible then arrange it again. Its not the best way but its the best thing i have found.
  9. Didnt realize it was that much but i would guess you do. :-/
  10. Yeah I was talking about the ford pick up. For the FFs here, is it normal for people to just drop by the station to take pics?
  11. Yes you need sketch up because its the only thing that can read the files as far as I know.
  12. Yeah I notice LA has CVs and trucks for there coroners. The Trucks look like they could fit 2 bodies in its utility bed.
  13. If you get a 500 GB 32 MB cache WD its almost as fast as the Velociraptor and it has lower power consumption all for about a 4th of the price. This is the drive I am likley going to get. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136320
  14. Not sure what your talking about, scketch up is much easier to learn but it can be a real pain to get them into v3o sometimes. If you work with scketch up i suggest exporting it as 3ds, open the 3ds using zmodeler1. Save as a zmodeler file. Open the zmodeler file in zmod2. In zmod 2, export as v3o.
  15. Oh my bad, last time it was reported no one said that. They just simply said that they do stop. Thanks for the answer.
  16. Yeah I still dont get why it has to be an all new person because the v3os arent going to contain the animations are they? There not even capable are they? I just dont get it but tell ya what, I will take your advice, and forget I even mentioned it lol.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaOOJJCvLV4 As reported before. Police do not stop at traffic lights when on patrol.
  18. good work! I am glad to see you got the hang of it. Guess you guys use alotta slick tops eh? As for making the links to images, just do [img=link]
  19. Thanks Mike. @NFK, yeah i see what you mean just figured they had upgrades to improve there handling, but then again chances are there not going to be primary on a high speed chase, and if they are needed in a chase due to terrain I suppose the other vehicles probably not much fast or better handling then the Explorer Expedition/Explorer. Last question for awhile, maybe. Is the E-series pretty much the standard for a coroner to use for transporting bodies? I have looked all over the net and havent been able to find the coroners van for my city/county.
  20. Hmm so if it requires a "new" person then why cant we simply use the model files for a perso, create new prototype,n then create the animation? What about making new vehicle animations?
  21. Guess I should have searched. :$ I never realized the old thread actually got an answer.: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.ph...p;hl=animations And yes Luisinho, I was under that impression to, but then i read that thread awhile back so I am not sure.
  22. How do you create new people animations?
  23. 32nm are already in the works? Sheesh time flys, but yes, more then likley I will get one of those 2. I have a Q6600 and its got great bang for the buck but I am looking for a bit more performance. Factor in a dedicated OS drive, probably 500 or 650 GB WD. I looked at SSD but the one I wanted was over a thousand usd so I think I can live with out that for now. When I order I plan to finish off this build as I didnt have money for a few parts last time like cathodes and uv cables and a dedicated os drive. Getting some mesh fan grills to because dust has been relay bad in this apt. I think I will stick with my 9800GTX+ as it gets the job done, but considered getting a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 as the extra bang wouldnt hurt. I dont really do any single graphic intensive things, its just that i do alot of little stuff at once some times.
  24. Well I certainly agree with you here but again it comes down to the content. I doubt he is going to be needed to do huge cgi scenes(which granted none of the above can do I dont think) like a bus or plane blowing up like you might find in the latest blockbuster. For example one of the comps I speak of was MMA fights. Well UFC fights to be specific, but anyways, they made an intro video previewing there next release, which then led you to a nice menu allowing you to choose play all or chapters. Say we choose play all. You have a nice cut away screen which then leads into fight 1. Now fight 1 is over and its time to move on to fight 2. Well here again you get a nice transition into a screen showing you who the next fight is. This screen usually consists of music, text and what I would guess is an animated gif as the video of fight 2 is shown playing while its a bit clouded over if ya get what I mean. Another transition and into fight 2. Then repeat. This is about the same extent that a true UFC home dvd would follow. I guess what I am saying is call it what you want, while Nero has no doubt gone down the crapper over the past few years its capable of some marvelous work and might be just right for the project at hand. Perhaps its not. Oh and no pissing contest mike, just a civilized debate/convo.
  25. Hostage - PD for the parameter. SWAT-1 or 2 Swat officers, scout, negotiator, and possibly a sharp shooter. Demo - SWAT respond and flash bangs. Unless its large and out control then PD sets up a parameter as best as possible and the SWAT Water Cannon will be sent in. Quake- The quake is wide spread and random its hard to say.If there are fires I send an engine or 2 depending on the size. Then I tend to use the EMS supervisor to drop off a Medic to treat the person or people then head off to another person. Drop a medic. Of course thats after I have used up all 4 ambulances on the map. Traffic Light - Usually nearest patrol car with 2 officers. This way I use the car to redirect for one lane(lets say a north bound lane). An officer to redirect traffic on the side straight across from the police car(southbound). And an officer to the east or west. This allows one lane of traffic to still flow freeley and try to prevent any traffic jams. It can be kind of fun to play it both ways.
