  1. Looks nice, but Rescue on the board is mirrored, and i don't think the surf b fins are colored, id make it black, imho. Also dont forget to credit childs authors, like for the spot lights and pushbar.
  2. Hello i'd like to create a new tutorial for newcomers on how to create a skin and UV map it on the moddel from the scratch. I will be showcasing my proces on 1998 Pierce Dash Engine-3111 by Miggles. To go along with me you need 2 basic fundamental skills: how to operate in Zanoza Modeler 2 and how to work with multi layers in paint.net. And we are assuming that you have a moddel allready done in 3d. 1) Lets start by saying that you are creating an art, so you must get comfortable before doing anything! - Take a shower, shave off your virgin beard, drink a cup of tea and check few youtube videos. Get the vibe to get going! I found lately that it is fun to work with a podcast playing in the background. 2) You are done? Good. Lets start by prepearing the moddel for the job. If your moddel is in one piece - you need to cut it intoo seperate parts. I would recomend, to trim down all childs intoo seperate group right away. You can do the select proces in either polygon or vertex mode. Than you can deatach what you got. Now you are left with a clean moddel that we can start working on: Now using the same technic, you need to cut moddel intoo different pieces like front, back, roof, ass, all the other metal parts and etc. I prefer to cut some individual proections of the moddel , than UV map them and than attach them to the object "done". 3) Now we are going to create a barnd new skin. My advice would be to go for 1024x1024 skin, so later on, you could copy parts from other skins. This is simple, you open up the paint.net and create a new image - skin.png. Back to the ZM - now we need to Print Screen different parts and paste them in paint.net. To do this, you take snaps of the individual parts in their respective display modes. So if the part is left, you need to open it in Left. After this, you paste the shot (as new image) and crop only the material of the moddel. Now the game of tetris begins The idea now, to paste all the parts ontoo the skin like in a tetris game, filling the spots. But be shure to keep the scale of individual parts, if you make one bigger than other - when you will draw a door line as 1 pixel - on 3d view one line will be fine and other will be blured. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thats how it looks like on my side, a nice clean canvas for our next steps: 4) Now back to Zanoza. You need to select your new skin on a new layer, lets call it "body" and assign it form the Textures Browser. (ZM2 is weird, so you need to select the image 2 times, for it to get selected ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) Don't forget to apply this layer to the model parts > Select all parts > Press Assign to selection > ok. Now it is time to UV map parts. Select the parts that you cut on their respective mode, as in this case Left. Chose the vertex mode, than select all, and turn on the Selected mode on: (you can enlarge one mode to be full window size by going for that red arrow button on the top right conner) Now in the left mode right mouse click > Mapping > Edit UV. And you will get the following window: (choose Generate new and select your material layer*) Now we are in UV Mapper mode. Go back to Object and select the part that showed up: Now using the options Modify > Move and Modify > Scale - move the part intoo it's position on the skin: Important advice, don't put the part 1 in 1 on the edge, if you do so, in the end, backgound colors would leak intoo the parts: Repeat the following stepts to fill all parts of the skin. The images in UV map editor are repetative - so you can create a new image for perforated metal (if the texture repeat itself) and freely scale it as you want: Editor note, if your cab roof will be one color without any details, make it a small color box on the skin, as on this moddel it took a big chunk of the skin for no reason*. 5) Next step would be to decorate the skin with door lines, decals and other stuff. But hey, i'm not sending you on the batllefield empty handed. Time to search for referance pictures. You need to search for some good pictures with right angling to be used as a background to be drawn on. Images larger than 1024 (like 3300+) are your bro, you want those. Other Images like smaller - are a ho, give those a pass. Good places to find images are https://www.google.com/ Dealers of the used trucks, or manufactors like: https://www.firetrucksunlimited.com/used-fire-trucks-for-sale/ https://www.evi-fl.com/ Also great source of HD images are: https://www.flickr.com/ https://firepix21.smugmug.com/ http://firebuff.org/ And others, you got the point. You can even search for instagram or if the case is shit, print screen trucks on responding videos... https://imgur.com/9BMq6Ue It is not nessesary to go for the exact company, just search for the moddel name (for ex "1998 Pierce Dash front") 6) Now you need to cut parts from the photos, create a new layer on the skin, and paste the photos on top. Next you need to create a new layer for door lines + windows and for door handles or decals. And Simply Draw on top of the photos, on the new layers. Later on when you done, you can delete the photos, reskin the background intoo designated engine colors, and save all as the skin. You will end up with something like this: 7) The only thing that is left now to finish the childs that we left before. It is pretty simple, the steps are the same as mentioned before. My advice would be to go for FHD on the frontal lights, bumper and grill, as the moddels with smaller face details looks bad. Here's examples of the images i was using for skin parts: https://imgur.com/Jqk01Iw https://imgur.com/wYWimsR https://imgur.com/A5nGgs1 https://imgur.com/F1fpyF4 In the end, don't forget to smooth the polygons, so the moddel looks like a todler butt. 8/ The last step is to export your moddel from ZM2, be shure that you use the same name on the object that you got in ZM. My skin in the end looks like this: P.S. Do not post your creation images using shitbucket or some other hosters. As your images will be deleted in few years, and it won't help our site to be a float. Use https://imgur.com/ or https://img.em-upload.de/ instead. Thanks for reading! Fell free to repost this (in case you give credit and a link in the header). EmC-Unit.
  3. Some setup on the site is off. Probably the folder with smiles are deleted or changed. Just deal with it. It's good that the site is up anyway. If you need emotion, google it and paste as image/
  4. Done: SCFD 1998 Pierce Dash Engine-3111
  5. You are making toyota? You could probably use it as battalion chief too
  6. @Yankee43 Well, if you started this topic. And you are so full of entuziasm - you should start a skinning contest topic.
  7. If you don't know how to UV map, i can help you with that.
  8. Thise looks VERY nice! I love your moddel. Basic advice about polygon count, go for less from the start. You can get the biggest polygons count on the small details. (LIke for ex, iv'e made fire hose connector on my moddel, from higly detailed to 8 sectors cylinder.) Keep it up!
  9. Conclusion, commynity pay no respects for authors of these moddels. Like here: It is not wourth it. You made the list. GO for it! (you can use older itcboy cars to refit them intoo more modern versions)
  10. Let me tell you the obvious stuff. This topic, and others that that you bumped has nothing done, or the title says they are cancelled. Don't be that person that replay in 2-3 years old dead topics. I bett that you give 0 sh about that.
  11. Oh i see whats you are doing. I can't say anything about blender (not using it) but in Zanoza UV mapping is th easiest part, try it (Zm 2 not Zm3).
  12. select the polygons of the grill and move them higher, if they are recessed under the hood - nobody gonna see it from the bottom. Why are you keep creating new topics?
  13. So the walls are so thin? I am using Zm2 for UV mapping, it is as easy as to cut polygons for different perspectives than resize them on UV map editor, and you done.
  14. Thanks itchboy for complete unwrap of the idea behind the decision! Yes, and i bet my ass off, youtube CCs gonna play it on 911 FR , but than only they will look dumb for dissregarding completability. I've made that update so people tho wellcomeback from ashes gunswat 14 minutes 18 seconds to download on 2 mb/s
  15. I have never used a steam, and not going to install it because people use it. Its up to people to install the mod anywhere else than 1.3 deluxe version on witch it is created. My data game folder is 2 GB, it is laughable even to argue about in 2019.
  16. Hey, i've made a post on facebook regarding the mod. story short - the future released mod will only be fully completable with 1.3 Deluxe version of the game. And here's the newest moddel for the map a Blue Bird Micro School Bus: Credits: EmC-Unit, itchboy. P.S.
  17. You cant outrun itchboy project using his moddels for 2nd retro themed mod.If you wana something origional, go for the retro NY setup
  18. Than make a loop manual put another copy of the siren to loop for like 1 minute, and boom - you got this.
