  1. Indeed, Alienware look nice and there great in terms of power, but there over priced.
  2. I would be nice of there was more of a beach front area on the maps so there was room for it to patrol the beaches, but i think a parking script would be the next best thing.
  3. That reminded me of my stupid cops and stupid doctors stories. When I was 15 I had a moped, well I was headed south bound on a small side street thats never busy. Well I was minding my own business and riding along, well some jack @$$ thought he owned the road and whipped in front of me to get into the drive through of a fast food chicken joint. Well I couldnt swerve to avoid him so i hit him right in the front fender area of his saturn sedan and flew up on the hood. Now I wasnt injured seriously, just bumps and bruises but my moped was totaled. Well we called 911, they asked if any one was seriously injured. They asked if it was blocking traffic, but because we moved it wasnt. Of course they said they would send an officer out shortly. Well in an hour and a half 3 cops drove by and didnt once stop. It took 90 minutes or so for a cop to show up. Now I realize that we said there was no serious injuries and it wasnt blocking traffic, but come on dont you think when there is moped vs vehicle you should send some one to check it out right away? Another time my friends and I were in an old Cutlass Sierra, a 93 I believe. We were headed down a little side street that had the righ away at most intersections along the strip of street. Well a guy from the local energy company was driving a ford contour coming down one of the cross streets and he had a stop sign. Well he was to busy digging on the floor board to stop and t-boned our car. I was sitting in the back set on the drivers side which absorbed the most impact. He was doing almost 35, in a zone that technically speaking is 30, but your expected to do like 30 because there residential areas. Well I wasnt going to go the the hospital at first, but when i realized I had a huge knot and a small gash on my head i decided it was for the best. Now they get me to the hospital and I am strapped in to a backboard and c-collar. They left me laying in the ER for an hour in the c-collar and back board. The doc came in and was like oh I had no idea you were in this condition..
  4. So I dont get it, your trying to convert an EM3 mod to EM4? Well the vehicles may import just fine. For people, rather then reskining them all by hand, you might be able to just apply the dds/v3o to one of the civilians already in the game. Just have to find the right civis to put the skins on and that just trial and error.
  5. Of course. This wont replace any people or vehicles, it will simply be an add on containing a lifeguard truck and a male and female lifeguard. The male/female is actually decided automatically by the game just as it for the male and female LAPD Officers. I may go ahead and release this here in a bit with out any lights but none the less 2 light versions will be available soon. a realistic set which will be easy on those of you with older pcs, as well as a heavy duty package for those of you with pcs that can handle Tony's Light pack. One last thing before I go work on a few finishing touches, I will not be included xml files like freeplaybase.xml. Instead I will include an XML file that explains what files to edit .It should be pretty easy to follow as it will say something like this: This may scare some of you but i assure you it should be pretty easy. The reason for this is if I include a freeplaybase.xml(for example) and the only thing I do is add the line: <vehicle prototype="mod:Prototypes/Vehicles/02 LA Fire Department/lifeguard_truck.e4p" count="2" /> Then i save and close it, this will erase the edits for things like the caprice or crown vic sub mod. This is easier for me, because I dont have to explain over and over again how to add it with out erasing other submods, and it saves people from wondering why the caprice, crown vic, etc arent working when they add my/Daren's submod. Note to a mod: If possible can you remove the poll from my thread. I got all the feedback I need and it clutters the topic. Thanks.
  6. Just download the free version of Daemon Tools(google it), and mount each bin file and install it that way. The only problem I can see is that this mystery exe file patches the games exe file to run with out a cd, but theres ways around that anyways.
  7. ^but i liked the running board lights! Any chance we can see a video?
  8. As said before a few times, its trial and error. Its just soemthing you have to learn to do. Its not the hardest part but its not the easiest part either.
  9. Anybody in the states should know how bad the winter was here this year. We had a major ice/snow storm that wiped out power to over 50,000 people in the tri-state area. It took 2 weeks to restore power in some of the more rural parts of Kentucky. Interstate I-164 was shut down because there were so many slide offs. Several cops had to be pulled out using tow trucks, and there were so many branches and power lines down that some fire departments couldnt even operate there engines and has to rely on there brush trucks to get around. Plus when we get snow its chaos on our roads if you dont have 4 wheel drive. Luckily for me I have a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge 4x4 with a large wrap around brush guard on the front. Well my girl and I were coming home from the laundry mat down the street when we saw a teenage girl stuck in an late 90s model civic trying to exit a parking lot and cross a 5 lane street,(2 lanes headed north and south with a center turn lane). Well she decided she was going to cross 3 lanes to make a left turn. That was her first mistake aside from exiting the parking lot through its entrance rather then using the small side street right next to the lot. Shes stuck and her boyfriend or brother was in the car with her trying to push her out. There was also a guy in a car trying to shovel her out. Well with having a bad back I wasnt going to get out and help but I said I can push her out using my truck. So her boyfriend or brother gets in her car and the guy steps aside. Well I am pulling up inch by inch to make contact with her, but I waited until traffic was clear so that should i bump to hard I dont push her in to traffic and cause an accident. So i leave about an inch gap. Traffic clears for a minute, and as I pull up to make contact she decided to floor it, well she was able to rock slightly forward maybe an inch only to come sliding back to where she was, and since I was pulling up it made for a good jolt when i made contact. I think it even cracked her back bumper, but the man shoveling her out was just like oh well thats what she gets. It didn't phase my brush guard.
  10. Good to hear. Do you think the script cane detect the collision to trigger it though? I would think if there is a variable at our disposal that indicates collision data it would work using an if statement.
  11. It would be nice of w00ds if hes still around to combine the files togeather so you download one package for 911:FR/EM4 or one package for Em4:DX.
  12. ^dont lie you want the guy in the thong. I'll put him in there just for you Update:NFK said he could do the basic/realistic light package over the weekend.
  13. Well to add on to what Mikey said, it is good for water rescues. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.ph...ost&p=21246 I think Darren himself explained it pretty well. UPDATE: Male and Female lifeguards are now working! As I said above the models from the original mod would not convert, so I had to apply the texture to a male and female civil person. Fortunately the game had 2 males in shorts with no shirt or shoes at my disposal, and one female with a bathing suit. I tried to use the LAPD models but it pretty much made a guy in a thong as the model was to thick lol.
  14. Darren has been kind enough to allow me to release a ported version of his mod for EM4. This is a beta release! - The reason this is a beta release is because the icons to put lifeguards in the truck will not appear but this does not prevent you from putting guards in the truck. Nor do the people icons work correctly for some reason. I also forgot to change the unit XML for this truck to hold 2 people instead of 4. That will be changed when Version 1.0 is released. Below you will find 3 zip files one for each version of the game. Each one is pretty much identical. Each zip has 2 text files an an exe. One text file is simply there to give credit to Hoppah,Darren,Zootoo, and myself for the work all of us have put into this. The other text file holds a list of all files you need to edit to make this work. If you do not follow the instructions in the text file this will not work. Last but not least, the exe file simply puts the files in the folders they belong. In the future I plan to switch over to the same EXE installer Hoppah has used because it would allow me to release one EXE file rather then 3. EDIT:Old attachments deleted, new attachments added. Old attachments at wrong line in instructions. Current Status: Beta 2 - This means that the sub mod is in the testing stage, and could potentially cause problems. If you are not comfortable with this risk, do not install this at this time! Despite the unit pics not working I have changed the status to Beta 2 as there have been number of small typos in folder names and files that have been corrected. Use the instructions attached rather then the ones in the zip for now. Light Pack 1: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.ph...ost&p=86746 by CFD.
  15. I think in this case push bumper is the proper term as there usually there to push with, while brush guards are designed for trucks to prevent brush from directly impacting the vehicle.
  16. Since there have been a few different siren mod scripts posted lately, it got me thinking. Is there any way for a script to detect the collision data so that when a emergencey vehicles makes impact with another vehicle it switches tones?
  17. Its a cool idea, but I personally wont be using it as I cant see myself bothered to push buttons while units are in route. I have to much else going on to worry about it.
  18. I like unrealistic (and i LOVE your/tony/cfds light pack), but itd be great to have a realistic/non over kill light package for those with slower pcs. I wont be using it. I like alot of lights and my pc handles it fine.
  19. Could you provide a dxdiag log(google it if your not sure how to get the log).
  20. Sounds like an internet connection problem, not a pc problem.
  21. Well obviously CFDs lights wont be to realistic since the light packs usually arent, but time will tell. If I can find a video of the lights in real life I may ask some one to do a realistic version. Otherwise the regular light version probably wont be realistic.
  22. http://www.smcars.net/ http://the-blueprints.com/ If its not there I dunno. What year are you looking for? If you find blueprints for an F-250 or F-350 that should work as the cab was pretty much the same anyways. Then the bed is pretty much a rectangle.
  23. Ok, I will worry about the boat later. I did speak with Darren and he has been kind enough to allow me to release this! So heres whats going on. At current the truck model is ready to go other then lights. There will be a basic lighted version for those with older PCs. CFD has been kind enough to work his magic and make a super light package for the truck. However getting the models of the lifeguards are being a pain in the..Hopefully Hoopah still has a txt file explaining what might have to be done to fix this. If not, I might still have a work around or two that might work.
