A Guide to the LAFD and assisting agencies....
Xplorer4x4 replied to MikesPhotos's topic in Los Angeles Mod
For water rescue are LAFD/LACoFD Rescue Boats launched at a boat ramp or do the boats respond from a station located at a port? If there launched at a boat ramp, what vehicle is used to transport the boats? Do any apertures have the capacity for a diver to suit up in route to a location? -
Spelling mistake, maybe, but the videos have been posted here before. Its very possible.

Trying to Unlock The Tiller Cabin for Quick Edit
Xplorer4x4 replied to C.F.D's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Sorry I forgot about the Charger, I have been pretty busy with the holidays but I will try to give it a shoot soon. As for the problem, if I recall the tiller has more then just the standard locked file protection according to Hoppah. -
The latest update of PRL should correct this from what I last read.

Kaspesky was to paranoid for my tastes. I prefer Nod32. It stays paranoid, but not to overly paranoid.
-
Depends on weather it is for personnel use or not.

Interesting. I knew they had a deal on the 920s but didnt know it was that cheap.

Will emergency 4 work on a laptop?
Xplorer4x4 replied to marko123's topic in Technical Related Support
Just install it and try it. If not post a dxdiag and logfile and we will pin point the problem and get it fixed. Same for others that cant get it to load on this laptop. I suggest making sure your video card drivers are up to date and go look at the FAQ forum first. -
The 920 is cheaper by about $1. Then look at mobo and ram costs. Then its more expensive. The mobos will support dual x16. There not out yet but there working on them. The 5970 IS a dual GPU card. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5970#Radeon_HD_5900 The 5970 IS faster: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=625408 http://pinoytutorial.com/techtorial/tag/5970-vs-gt-295/ http://forums.ocworkbench.com/showthread.php?t=91801 DX11 may not be the greatest but its the next generation. Everything will be going over to DX11. I agree, the old alienware cases were much better. lol it does look like a rip off but a good one. It wasnt a flame, not in my case atleast. Just trying to convince you to do the best thing, the best reliability, the best performance and so forth for the price.

Check your other topic.

Like I said LA County might use them

Ask Sixteen Tons. From the sounds of it this is something to do with the game, and theres nothing we, the end user, can do unless we reverse engineer the game files, find the code thats bugged and fix it.
-
Perhaps I have it confused with M$ Security Essentials or whatever it is, but pretty sure the article mentioned UAC. Maybe ill dig it up latter.
-
Perhaps, some times its hard to tell with text on a screen.

Thats debatable. Considering I highly doubt you have bothered looking at cases, its hard to say that isnt it? Have you seen this case: http://modtekusa.com/images/products/origi...en-x-case-1.png Personally I think it looks just a good as an Alienware. Actually it looks better then most of the current Alienware cases. As for time, you cant sacrifice an hour or two, even over the course of a few days? Not true. Maybe for a few rare apps/games, you might but so far I havent found any such instance unless you need to run an old school 16 bit game on Win 7 x64. What M$ doesnt mention is its actually a virtual machine, and not just some built in feature. So if you need such an app I prefer Vmware personally as I couldnt ever get my Virtual PC to boot using the pos M$ virtual pc app(forgot the name). The 860 outperforms the 720 in every benchmark possible except memory bandwidth, and its cheaper. Unless you really need 6 GB of RAM minimum, I dont see a need for the x58 unless you plan to go for a Core i9 soon. Plus mobo manufactures are already working on p55s to support dual x16 slots vs a 16x and 8x slot. As for the video card, heres the way i see it: 295 1)End of life 2)DX10 3)Slower 5970 1)Beginning of Life 2)DX11 3)Faster So why try to save $50 when your getting all that for $50 more?

So just because mass majority does something, its right?

There was a water rescue in the Ohio River last night. EFD and EPD responded as well as AMR. About 5 or so EPD. 1 Ladder 2 Engines 1 Rescue Truck w/ Dive Rescue Trailer. 2 BCs 1 Brush Truck w/ EFDs Water Rescue Boat About 4 EFD Divers 2 AMR Ambulances 1 Contract Tow Truck 1 Contract Heavy Rescue Crane The entire operation lasted over 3 hours. A 27 year old female drove a Chevy Colorado down the exit ramp for the river front plaza and in to the water. It was about 40* F outside and about 11PM. EFD rescued her and crews were able to revive her. Rescue operations took about 20 minuets to 30 minutes. Rumor is it took emergency crews about 20 minuets to get there. I find that hard to believe, but thats what I was told by some one who talked to the eye witnesses. I do know that the Divers were told they did not have time to suit up on land. Divers had to suit up on the boat. Judging by radio transmission this was not standard procedure. Salvage operations on the other hand took over 2 hours. Granted there was no longer a life at stake but 2+ hours? Better safe then sorry but surley in nearly freezing conditions they would have wanted to get out of there as quick as possible. The rivers been a dumping ground for stolen cars for years anyways so I was surprised they got the truck out.

Wow my girlfriend payed for hers back in october and still hasnt gotten it. For the most part no. Its built on the same Kernel as Vista but with better driver support then Vista ever managed. You may run into the odd compatibility problem but the biggest problem I had was getting Myst to run, but that was designed for Win 95 so go figure. Why? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWi...Number=16447368 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7542/cpu...g&mv_pc=141 Slightly over budget but worth it for the great drops in cpu temps. Now can you tell me your Alienware has that many top quality components in it? Can you tell me the Alienware can out perform the custom build? Dont be scared to build. Its like a lego kit, except everything only fits one way. Plus if something goes wrong, you can take the bad part out, ship it back. With the Alienware, have fun paying the return shipping if something breaks.

lamodificationcentre.com doesnt work for me. The rapidshare link has exceeded its download limit. Try sharebee.com.

1) No need to reboot. 2)UAC is a joke. Its only catches 3/10 viruses out there, statistics say. If you have a quality Anti Virus like Nod32 with Malwarebytes as a back up, disable UAC and tont deal with it as its just one big PITA.

Looks like a messy pizza. Our NBC affiliate picked up the wood chipper story http://www.14wfie.com/global/story.asp?s=11560173

Thanks again for the great work Shane. Look forward to your release!

If I recall correctly, Hoppah or Mikey once said it's possible, it just has to be scripted. I dont believe LA Uses quints. Maybe in the county but not city. Anyways the script would pretty much have to combine 2 vehicle types.
