yup, loved NFS underground 2, was amazing, cruising with my pimped car and red nos coming out of the wheels... That was a great game.

They've lost their touch with those sort of games, Really miss it. Midnight Club LA was closest to how it was back in the day

My PC gaming days, and then my modding days, began with NFS High Stakes. Fun times for countless hours.

Sadly it went downhill afterwards - even more so when they decided to push one out every year... NFS has changed so much since its early days. The downwards spiral began with Porsche Unleashed, of which the focus on a single brand was seen as a weird move (not a bad game, though), and from there it just got worse... Hot Pursuit 2 screwed up everything that HS did right. Underground 1/2 weren't bad, but should have been a different franchise, not a NFS game. Most Wanted/Carbon/Undercover/World Online were pure garbage. Pro Street was a lousy attempt at a racing-oriented spinoff - I believe they were able to pull off something much better with the Shift series, although it's trying to play in Forza and Gran Turismo's turf while it will never even get close to any of these two hallmark franchises. I gotta say that the Hot Pursuit reboot by Criterion was excellent, even though it favored a much more "arcade" style of play. And then there was that weird experiment that was "The Run" - I just don't know what they were thinking with that one but I could see it fail from a mile away.

I remember when I got my first copy of Need for Speed High stakes (not steaks. Though I can imagine, that'd be great too). I must've played it every day, for at least an hour or more. Then when I found out you could mod it, I just had to do that too. Hot Pursuit 2, I wasn't so much a fan of, and I really just miss the old NFS:HS play. But I completely agree with the statement that every other game SUCKED horribly. If they re-released NFS:HS and just updated the graphics, I'd totally buy it, which is a rare move for me!
