  1. Excellent, Glad to hear the mod is progressing, and I look forward to playing the next release.
  2. Ok, time to come back with a few more Ideas, small ones I've developed through personalization: 1. Change the SAR Dog Unit/vehicle and or make a Sheriff Dept. SAR Dog and handler (Just use the sheriff deputy with traffic vest skin)...then make them transported in the Sheriff Dept. SAR Hummer. 2. Let the USFS engine and maybe the brush patrol carry a portable pump. (I know it wouldn't be unique, but they're incredibly useful in fighting forest fires before they get out of control). Also I support the calls for an LACoFD Engine.

  4. I'm trying to get more into the scripting of the game and came across the parking script put out by the Herne mod. Does anyone know if it works well, and or is is easy to implement? At the same time does any one have a good suggestion for a mod to look at for its parking script?

  6. Thanks for the info Mike, Since I'm on a customization binge for the L.A. mod I have to ask one more question. I know the Ohio Department of Forestry maintains some portable pumps. Does the USFS and CDF use portable pumps, and just curious does anyone out there still have Indian tanks (not that they'd be that much help outside of small grass fires)?
  7. Mike, I know your very knowledgeable, given your background, on a lot of the forestry service units. So, I have to ask how does the Fire Cobra work, is it an observation helicopter or is it used for suppression? And if it's used for suppression does it use a bambi bucket or a belly tank?

  9. So....... I've been playing 5.8 for the last few days and it said somewhere that the fire department can now search for missing persons. Does anyone know exactly how to get them to search?
  10. If you have the deluxe map it is quite easy to make a little Forestry Service Station in the woods by the lake. I could post a picture of it if you want to see how I did it. I know it's not quite what you want but it is a cool thing you can do to customize the mod for your own play. If you had some more advanced scripting knowledge you could even input parkign and response scripts.
  11. I've suggested them before but here are my major suggestions in one place: -replace boat unit with a Swift Water Rescue truck(either with the boat on top or on a trailer, using the script. Of course would require a new boat too) - replace the crane with a heavy rescue ( the back of the unit does rotate so it would be like the crane with the boom facing backward) - USFS firefighters in hotshot gear -LAX firefighters in ARFF gear -Specialized hazmat firefighters(decon/ medical/ and fire control, maybe different protection level suits, and SWAT in hazmat gear?) -Firefighters in water rescue gear which can move fast on land and swim out to rescue but not dive (would look a lot like USAR firefighters...probably not possible) -A reset script for the trailers behind the fire station
  12. Emergency 4 - Gold-Edition There's a link to it. It took me a bit to find it. By the way they are very fast and professional it took less than 2 weeks to get my copy to Ohio.
  13. I ordered from Bol.de, they say they will. It cost about $45 U.S. I used babel fish and some of my dormitory residents from Europe to help me figure out how to order.
  14. Hey guys, I just ordered a copy of Emergency Gold and am having shipped to my home in Ohio. Just curious if anyone knows about how long it could take to get here? I'm guessing at least a few weeks.

  16. So...... Does anyone know how to handle the train derailments? I just had one occur by the train station, so I couldn't get back to cool the train cars, and then for some reason the GTLF just blew up, it said something I can't remember what, (probably the missing clue to what I'm doing wrong). Even when other derailments occur, I just don't know how to finish the incident. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Those are pictures of OES= Office of Emergency Services trucks, they're stationed across the state for use at large scale emergencies. They are kind of a modern equivalent of the early civil defense emergency units found in across the U.S. in the 40's- 60's. I know Mike can explain better.
  18. In the Winterberg mod there actually is a ventilation fan on their tower (DLK). In some cases you have to use it on certain buildings, like the bank, when they catch fire to clear out the smoke that harms people not in SCBA. So it is possible and probably requires a ton of script work,etc.
  19. There are also a few missions that require the use of a ventilation fan from the DLK. That could also be the case but try disabling the alarm first if it refuses get the fan from the DLK.
  20. When I've had thing Like that occur, I've found the person by selecting some RA's and selecting the pick up person command. If you find the spot where the person is supposed to be the icon will change, and they pick up the victim, then you can treat them.

I have no clue what button activates the bomb squad but I'll check right now...about the game freezes and the people gathering....I've noticed that too, I thinks it's probably just a path error fro the persons or it could be intentional, since people seem top be drawn to the pretty lights and loud noises . *The Bomb Squad doesn't exist, but the mod reference sheet say that you activate the natural alarm (the barrel icon on the first fire dispatch) for bomb threats, it sends a utility, officer vehicle, police unit, ambulance, and an HLF or if you prefer an engine/rescue to the incident. One of those units has the ability to disarm a bomb. I'll add more if I can figure it out...I;ve never had a bomb threat in that mod.*
  22. Alright I've looked through the read me file and through several forums but can't find the answer to this. Is there a glitch that prevents prisoners from being taken into the police station, or is there something I'm not doing?

In freeplay for this mod i can only dispatch the fire units once, when they return to the station everyone exits and I cannot get them back into the vehicles when I disptach for the next incident.Am I beign stupid and just not seeing a command on one of the menus or has ayone else had this problem?
