  1. Such things apper when you move alllready mapped parts.

You can do the same in UV mapping window or on 3d moddel, you could miss it in UV mapp editor (like mowing something with turned on "select") witch affected both.

I see. So that is the cause. I have been moving some parts because I modified the shape of the rear a bit and had to change the mapping.

The problem has been slightly aleviated by adding a bit of "compensation" to the mapping. I moved it a bit to the left of where I want it to actually be and when it was exported, it came out much better (but still a bit curved).

  2. I totally get the problem, but if it was me I would just leave it. When playing Emergency, you see the game from a bird eye  view, so you will never get close enough to the vehicle, for it to actually be a problem.

But I most certainly understand why it is bugging you :)

The line is quite visible when I play, especially in the E350 I have modified to be used as a playable unit. Also, any text or lettering on the rear side would be skewed a bit. Basically, this texturing issue would cause issues when people start putting their "decals" and emergency logos, stripes etc.

  3. @ itchboy it is a rule to credit/get permissions for content ya use and release, as a general morality standpoint and ease of course I find it better to do what terrow has done and credit with each updated picture (makes crediting easier to keep track of imo for one and it's always good to make sure credit goes where due).  I was generalizing that comment about google, because alotta people go ahead and hit up sketchup and assume oh i dun have to credit, so I wanted to make that clear ya can't just go and take things, get permission n credit where it's due.  Always a good thing to do but I didnt wanna have to go into a whole thing over it =)

Yeah. I see. Wasn't there a ban on sketchup models here many years ago?

My only issue is that people often forget to credit the game studios who made the orignal base models which I converted. At least some mods were kind enough to include the readme files from my car pack which had lists of authors in them.

  4. Just a tip from the powers that be herr... You can't just go round the interwebz grabbing things off of for ex google without figuring out who to credit and getting their permissions to use it as such, the exception for permissions is conversions from another game like itchboy does, but you still must credit the proper author(s) either way.

I make sure to credit the original authors on all of my converted models despite the many modifications I do to them. Often times the current state of the model is very different from the original, but I at least make sure to give credit where it is due.

Unfortunately, many modders who use my models forget to include original authors. Its nice to be credited for something but it just feels wrong that the respective game companies/authors dont get their names included. Maybe you mods could make it a rule or something.

I know, I've been using everything from mods on this site and have asked permission (minus the models I've created myself). Maybe I said that a little wrong :P but I was searching google images for suburbans and found a cool one from Maryland and textured it by myself after it on itchboys suburban.

Suburban looks great. Just credit me for the model. Although its pretty obvious its my model, some first time visitors to the site wouldnt know who made it.

  5. Mayby it depens on me, but i don't see it as a joke. (The sentence)

For me, it did seem a bit offensive. We should remember that this mod has been in development for several YEARS now and that in a way, he's saying that the shootings would make release date even longer as if it weren't already long enough. It also sounds like its trivializing the death and suffering of people in a sense that this mod is just a videogame whereas the events happening right now are frighteningly real.

We should refrain from commenting about these kinds of events before they pass. Instead we should offer hope and support to those affected and comfort for those who need it.

    Just my opinion on this.

  6. They just keep getting better and better, do you plan on doing the commerical chassis as well? With opening doors and such

The chassis version (E450) will have one driver side door and a basic interior similar to the vanilla EM4 cars. Most of the cars, trucks and vans will feature this except for the vehicles made by Sixteen Tons and Turn10 Studios.

Here's a screenshot of 2 of the three buses that will be out.

The third bus is still tentative. Not sure what I should make. The vans with interiors is still very WIP.

E350 done. Will be making the version with black front parts.

  7. Is that truck actually on fire? I've been wanting to know how people make MVAs with burning vehicles because I've never figured it out.

Name the vehicle you want to smoke "ccars_xx" with xx being the number ID of the wreck. See sample usage in LA Mod Freeplay map or EM4 Vanilla Deluxe map. Be sure to set the SmokeTime higher than 7.0 otherwise the car will probably explode before any units get to it.

  8. Here Fire Depts use the extended length vans as i carries manpower and equipment.

Well overhere in LA, LA Sheriff's they use the extended ecoline. But their is not a single universal van, so depending what region or dept. But usually they tend to use extend for more storage.

Thanks for the advice. This is going to take a while before I can complete all of these vans. So far, 5 in total.

Here is the first one. I secretly (well not so secret no more) hope that this would make it into the Brooklyn mod or the new Manhattan mod as one of those NYPD vans.

This is the regular length version btw.

  9. Btw, Nice truck is there going to be a longer flatbed for both or will they stay like this? For Ex, Ram 2500 8 foot box.

I am not aquainted with the MANY variants of trucks there are.

I think I will just leave this to the end user to modify the length of the box to his suiting.

  10. That's alright, I'm in no hurry.

    Very well then.

Everyone, here's the Dodge Ram SSV.

I will be doing vans next. The Econoline and Express vans along with the Dodge Caravan.

A question though. What kind of vans do most police and fire departments use? Extended length or regular length?

  11. Is this on the negotiator unit? Or on the police helicopter? EM4 with NO MODS?

The negotiator can only use the megaphone in hostage situations where he will use it to communicate with the hostage taker. For demonstrations, he can only talk to one protester at a time and the effect is that it will pacify the protester for several seconds, but he will still fight units. If you use this command on the lead protester with the sign, there is a small randomly calcluated chance that he or she will leave the area and the protest will disperse by itself. Most of the time though, it has no effect and in fact aggravates the demonstrators to start throwing molotovs.

There is no other function in game with the megaphone except this. The sound file unused and intended to be on the helicopter ordering a building to be evacuated.

Someone with scripting abilities can VERY EASILY create a custom script that allows police to use megaphones and issue commands but someone would need to create the audio files for that.

And yes, this is in the right place.

  12. I've got 4402 lines dedicated to call scripts (797 to BLS Engines alone), and that's not counting even police units. All units on map can be called if available (from standby, patrol, or even returning to station/HQ). All units in-game are able to be called if no map units are available, in order of proximity to the area, being limited to one of each unique unit (Fire/EMS only). I also set up commands for the station panels to dispatch units from there without the need for a person at all.

Needless to say, I've always relied on the call scripts and put some effort into expanding and refining them in my mod version.

I have a similar set up to my LA Mod, but I kept the vehicles unlimited. A batallion chief and paramedic are spawned at every station via script at the start of the game.

I probably have a call script for most commonly called vehicles. Other special vehicles like the LRA, HES, SWR, rescue crane and the US Government vehicles are still called from the units menu though. We should collaborate on making a Winterberg style dispatch for LA Mod soon.

  13. Yeah. The fact that the batallion chief script is one of the largest scripts in the LA Mod says that Hoppah really put a lot of work into making it and its such a shame very few people use it.

Maybe if there were an on map dispatcher that could call units, then maybe more people would have bothered using it.

I personally never used the automatic call command until I decided to place a batallion chief unit on the map and assigned it to the shortcut key #1.
