Thanks for the offer! :) I have one thing, do you know how the dispatcher decides when to send the ambulance with lights and when not to? Are they sent on blues and twos when the case is deemed to be potentially life-threatening? I am planning to have the ambulance dispatcher able to send ambulances to scenes without lights and sirens. I'd have to make some calls that don't need lights and sirens though, like a special fall, because in EM4, all medical events seem to involve damaged/interrupted blood flow, so in other words, they bleed away their life over time, even if it's just a fall, so you always need lights or sirens or you might mess it up. For example, an event where someone has fallen, but they aren't bleeding, just a fractured leg or something, so their life isn't slowly going away - they don't need lights and sirens.

Guest emergency captain

That's mostly in America. I'm not so sure they do those anymore. In my Fire Department, we use Priority 1 and Priority 2. 2 being not a real emergency, and 1 being emergency. That's mostly used for our medical responces. We get at least a few thousand of those a year. We never really get any fire calls. Back to Topic Now.

WMPS Multiple Suspect Lorry

Just been searching on net, turn out West Midlands Police have a Large Van to carry multiple suspects

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you found out what it says on the side of the Fire Trucks?

I have found a good image of the side

Yeah, I know about those, I remember seeing one a while back being escorted by some police bikes and cars. Prisoner transport vans ;)

Also I know what fire engines say on the sides:

- HFRA Fire Safety Check advert

- Car safety - "wear your seatbelt"

- Car safety - "kill your speed, not yourself"

Also, fire engines have CCTV on them?

And about the ambulance system, that's very weird... I knew low priority received ambulances without lights and sirens, and then more severe got lights and sirens, but only lights??

Anyway, Renault Espace has been started.

Kookas did you recieve my e-mail with the advert pictures ?

Regarding the CCTV cameras on fire engines in west mids, a select few who've had trouble in the past have the cameras fitted on the dash with a screen (pic attached), off the top of my head i can think of Erdington, Ward End, Canley, Foleshill, Highgate, Kings Norton, Ladywood, West Brom and Dudley carry them.

Knowing little about WMAS, i do know a bit on the mobilising side

Cat A - is what they call a 'hot response' meaning a life threatening call, difficulty breathing, chest pains etc..

Cat B - would still be an emergency but not that life threatening, i.e RTC persons trapped, call by fire to house fire persons reported

Cat C - low level emergency I believe. I also believe they have cat D calls too.

With a Cat A you'll get a paramedic car/bike. Also in some parts of the West Mids there are community first responders. Not sure whats its like around the rest of West Mids but where I live they get given yellow alfa's with green markings (no blues), and they'll get called to Cat A calls only within 8 minutes of their location if the nearest available vehicle is further away than 8 mins.

Something else I had a think of, for each fire engine in WMFS they have Mobile Data Terminals (MDT's) which enable the truck to recieve fire calls and print off the details whilst out and about to save having to pass the details by radio. And to save on keep calling up on the radio the functions of mobile incident, in attendance, mobile available, closing home station are available for incidents by means of a touch screen computer to update the status. Also the function of sending stop messages for incidents using the MDT, would that be something that would be possible?.

Also whilst at jobs, a series of informative messages must be sent (every 20 minutes i believe) giving an update on each job, something that would be kool to do is maybe a function to type an informative message into the game? something like that?

Just an idea :)

Hi Guys!

Great Modding so far, you should be proud :). This looks to be the next LA mod for me. As I work with the Fire Service in West Midlands a hell of a lot. I'm based at the headquarterss where some of the rare vehicles are parked. Should you need images or anything at all including information. Feel free to contact me :).With regards to Fire Engine CCTV. Only 1 camera is fitted on the whole appliance. On the older Dennis Sabre's it's fitted on the dashboard facing through the windscreen. The later models (XL) it;s placed on the window. It is connected to a small laptop style processor for the later models and the older models, a satnav style looking monitor, that can be viewed easily. It has built in night vision capabilities. Not really on topic but just thought i'd let you know :).

Anything you need, Holla! xD

Regards

David Bailey

**Just realised the post above haha.

About the informative messages, I don't know how possible that is. Thanks for the CCTV/WMAS info, though. I will use that to name the medical calls (in the language files).

Also sorry for slow progress, things should return to normal progress rate next week.

Was playing the Hamburg mod last night, and the use of the Positive Pressure Ventilation fans (PPV's) for ventilating a building of smoke makes the game that little bit more real, and the use of Light portable pumps carried on the PRL's makes it easier to fight fires where the hose lines can't reach. Would this be a possible function in the game ?

It may be possible to make it so you can attach hoses into the water, and that would be connected to a pump, which hoses can then connect to. The method I have in mind is to manually create a "scripted polygon" - basically a set of vector values which define the area of a river or lake on the map which I want to use hoses with. I will see what I can do about it ;)

Also, today, I saw a modern high-speed sports car responding to a call with the new sirens the West Midlands Police are using and the same light set-up as the BMW traffic cars. Looked like a Jaguar or an Aston Martin. I'll have to look around.

Not sure if ive mentioned this but, the other day in birmingham i saw a WMP Van, but it had camera's all around it and it said "Football Command Vehicle" on it.

And for the ambulance is there going to be a Paramedic & a Technician or just the 1 (and if doing both the paramedic should be able to make the health bar go up quicker than the technician)

Yeah, I also saw a Traffic Data Unit today, had four red blocks of flashing LEDs on the back and a couple of blues.

I suppose so. Also, the police car I saw before, I think it was a Jaguar XF.

Oh and I saw an Audi A6 Saloon ARV responding with a Volvo S60 RPU behind it the other day. Neat :>

Oh yeah, and there's a thing on the Internet about West Midlands Police's Jaguar XFs.

WMAS Volvo XC70 Rapid Response Vehicle

Very rough up close (render)

Not so bad from a distance (print-screen):

You won't be seeing it from much closer than that, anyway xD

Sorry I don't have much more to show. I have worked on some other stuff, but those aren't quite ready for screenshots yet.

Polygons: 396
