Not sure, your best bet is simply to use bootcamp to set up windows. Crossover Games? You mean a game in particular or the utility? I assume you mean the utility, in which case, you have to keep in mind, EM4 is an older game, and even at its release was not the pinnacle of gaming. It wasnt exactly written all that well even given the time frame. It was alot better then EM3, but thats another story. My point is EM4 is very picky so I am not surprised to see it not playing well in an emulated environment. Besides you will get better performance running windows on its own via bootcamp then emulating it. Im amazed that you can even play games reasonably on your macbook with an emulated environment like vmware or crossover games. Not that your specs are bad its just vmware, from experience, is mega hog on the memorey side, factor in windows, and osx running to and im amazed you dont creep to a hault any time you do anything.

This is why we ask for a dxdiag to. The logfile confirms it is something on the video card end, but before speculating I would like to confirm my suspicions via a dxdiag.

Patch 1.3 for Emergency 4 does resolve that issue so my guess is you havent applied the patch correctly.

Wow sucks to hear you abandon the mod, but I hope we can see you return to work for EM5 pushing the boundaries of what we think are impossible in the game as you have for EM4. Good to see your not leaving and hopefully you can help me, and others out, on some little things.

As I understand it, freeplay itself will be a bunch of different missions based around different maps.

I think its hard to draw a line and say this can not be scripted, or that cant be scripted. At one time no one thought mid mount ladders were possible, but Hoppah did it. Same for a mid mount crane, and just look at Winterberg mod and NY Mod. They do some amazing things with scripting.

Seems like vmware is taking over for the drivers from nvidia. I dont think vmware is designed with gaming in mind. Its meant for server applications and cross platform programing, not high priority things like gaming.

I thought about the same thing Titan, but sadly it would be impossible to make the skin work that way as I would have to get just the right part of the skin over the decal. Check the screen shots and it may give you some insight to what I mean. Export to v3o. Open the v3o in notepad 2 and both skin files are listed. Now when I load it in game you can see from the first pic, that it acted as if the decals were not transparent. EDIT:This is solved now. There was a few extra polygons on the model. Deleted them and the skin worked just the way I wanted!

If you were just asking a question, you would have simply said something long the lines of "Can you give me a link because I cant find it" but instead you interjected little comments like: I rest my case. I assume you mean you have black bars on the side of the screen? Stans correct you need to edit the cfg file. If you cant save it, I assume you have Windows 7 because I never heard of the black bar issue on EM4 w/ Vista. I suggest you google "how to disable UAC." Then edit and save the cfg file.

No problem. Glad it helped. Even on my desktop I use Rivatuner myself because despite good cooling, my video cards stock fan setting, even under load, suck so I like to crank it up to about 70%, not to loud, not to quiet, and then cools much better. Granted the 4890s ran hot. Anyways I would offer to help with bootcamp but never used it. If I understand it is just a fancy walktrhough for partitioning and installing windows. If you feel knowledgeable enough you can get around using bootcamp, and I am sure theres guides on google as well.
