  1. Release date postponed until Dec. 23, and that is final. Won't be postponed anymore. And trust me, it will be worth the wait. 1: Haven't changed the specs yet, but definitely slower. We'll try to make it more life-like and more manageable given the units available. Won't be anything like V1. 2: I'm assuming this means Motor Vehicle Incidents? If so there will be plenty. I think there are 8 so far but I'm planning on adding quite a few more before release.
  2. It will definitely be out before Christmas. But I may have to extend it by a few days to wrap some loose ends up. I'm hoping not, but we'll just have to see. Currently finishing up Fire and EMS units.
  3. Best advice I can offer is to go into the editor and reduce the radiation size of the units' lights. Reducing corona size will help too. If you want to keep them looking good with large radiations and coronas, then do like marius said and upgrade your GPU/CPU.
  4. I meet the recommended requirements for EM5, yet it runs terribly on anything other than Low. & I'm not the only one having this issue. It is poorly optimized. And I believe what people want is a game that they can run, as long as they have the right hardware, like myself. P.S. - GTA IVs graphics still hold up today, especially on high settings. It's a good looking game, especially with mods. It also has a much, much larger map and a lot more going on.
  5. I think the point Ace was trying to make is that it is well known that GTA IV was a terrible PC port, and even those with top-end gaming PCs experience issues with performance; so the fact that he gets more FPS in GTA IV than in EM5 is a bit of embarrassment. For me, I only get decent FPS in Em5 on low settings and a low resolution. The Low settings look terrible in this game. I have a mid-end gaming PC, even in today's standards, so I'm a bit disappointed at the performance. If they can patch it, or if I eventually get a PC that can run it, I feel like it would be an enjoyable experience. But from what I've heard, even the users with high-end PCs are having trouble getting decent performance out of the game.
  6. I just now was able to download it on Steam, anyone else able to as well?
  7. While I'm just as disappointed as everyone else, I think that once it gets released (at least for us Steam buyers) and patched, it will be a good game.
  8. Just made my pre-order, waiting for 17:00 CDT to roll around
  9. My graphics card cries out in pain
  10. Thanks everybody! That's the plan, yes. Probably not. I wouldn't want two separate versions out there. But don't worry, even though the radiations are reduced, the lighting still looks fantastic. Flnn's been helping me and he does an excellent job, and I've also changed my own lighting style to follow suite.
  11. Hopefully not. A lot of the lag from before was due to the large radiation sizes, and the radiation has been drastically scaled down in this version. If too many users still experience lag I may put out a patch with even more toned down lights. Two main reasons - so that they don't obstruct the light bar, and because it's easier to run cabling through a trunk than a roof.
  12. Update, everyone. I'm, unfortunately, pushing the estimated release date back to Fri, Dec. 12.This is because I don't feel like I'll be able to deliver a finished product 7 days from now like originally planned. But make no mistake, I'm still hard at work. Plus, this way, it can be considered more of an early Christmas present Some progress percentage estimates: Map: 90% Events: 50% Units: 75% Finalization: 15% To make up for the bad news, here's a new screenshot: Side note: I understand some of you will probably feel frustrated about the continued push-back of the release date, and I sympathize with that. But please refrain from complaining in the thread, because it won't speed things up any more. Fear not, this mod will get released before Christmas.
  13. Probably not. I personally don't like the multiple sirens thing, it's cluttered. The manual speed control Itchboy mentioned is fine. 1) No. 2) Manual controls, like itchboy mentioned, but I doubt there will be buttons for it. Will be bigger and better. Will make an appearance as a side agency.
  14. I've added an MHP Tahoe and Caprice PPV, and will probably keep the CVPI. I've changed the skins to more closely resemble the real-life counterpart. No word yet on helicopters for the state patrol. And yes, all off-map. You're in luck, it will be featured in the mod! I've updated it's texture, and it will have a brand new feature
  15. Modding Concepts. The rules changed, now a thread doesn't get moved to Mods until it has enough content to be considered a real mod. But this is definitely the wrong place to be posting that. Em4 editor, then Photoshop to clean it up and add the white background.
  16. This is a good idea, I'll consider implementing it
  17. I should make a point that that release date isn't final, but is an estimate. It's subject to change. And hopefully there won't be any bugs but I doubt I'll get that lucky
  18. It's going to be in the mod and fully functional.
  19. That's an accomplishment thank you! Quick update: Itchboy has been a huge help implementing new scripts and ironing out the current ones. We're getting closer to release each day. I'm currently working on a new tanker model. New projected release date is Nov. 26
  20. I may have to push the release date further into November, or even December.. as much as I want to release before EM5, at the rate things are going that may not be possible. Plus, I don't want to release a broken mod; we're working out as many kinks as we can find and putting in as much detail and polish as we can get for this version. But rest assured we're still hard at work and looking at less than a few months before release. Any questions feel free to ask
  21. Within a couple of weeks, hopefully. New media is coming soon
