  1. You can upload them via imageshack.us and then you can use the 'insert image' function when typing a message (it's in the same row as the youtube button). You can also upload an image from you pc directly while typing a message: use the attechments screen below the type box and use the 'manage current attachments' option to add the picture to your message. greetz, Thijs
  2. The short answer: the modding manual can't help you with that because you can't enter data like that in the editor. You need to make a missionscript. I really have no time to explain how to do that and what you need to put in it, but if you use the search engine (top right hand corner) and search for mission script you'll probably find a few usefull tips. greetz, Thijs
  3. Try using the search engine (top right hand corner) this question is asked dozens of times, I think you'll find the answer somewhere on the site. About Z-modeler there's a tutorial you can take that explains why you don't see any doors. Greetz, Thijs
  4. well mate it has to be there, made a screenshot for ya to show in what it looks like: When you open this file with notepad you use ctrl-F to find the text and change the numbers. Then you can play the game and load the mod, after you've loaded the mod you'll find you'll have the extra missions. greetz, Thijs
  5. Try typing data2.cab in the search engine. Three topics will appear about the mistake, maybe you can find the answer there. greetz, Thijs @ Stan maybe you can relocate this topic to the 911 first responders section?
  6. This one looks cool, maybe it's an idea to ad all 4 of the emergency services (police, fire, ambulance and tech too). greetz, Thijs
  7. I'm afraid I can only answer one question but here it goes: If you open the file vehicles.xml (in the data\specs folder I believe) you see the vehicle descriptions. In the first line of the vehicle discriptions you'll see a long line of numbers going from 1 to 20 (sometimes with some numbers missing), those numbers are the numbers of the missions where you can call that specific vehicle. If you want to add a vehicle to a mission just add the number off that mission to the list and save the file. Btw: to make a mission you must make a mission script. I don't know a lot about scripting so I can't help you with that. But at least you now know what to do. greetz, Thijs
  8. Have you tried this: Open the em3.cfg file (located in the emergency 3 folder) with notepad and look for the text <var name="e3_doocclusion" value="1" /> (use CTRL + F to find it faster). Now change the 1 into a 0 (zero) and save the file. I think the stripes on the buildings are coming from the 'shadow' on the objects inside. With the solution mentioned above you disable those shadows. If you play again all the red and blue stripes should have been gone. The mission section in the LA MOD is supposed to start with the normal missions. If you scroll down to number 21 you'll find the new missions Hoppah created. greetz, Thijs
  9. wow the animated one is realy cool, looks just like the lights of a fire truck! @Stan, how is there going to be decided which is 'the best' banner? Maybe you can create a top 5 and then organize a poll? Just an idea... greetz, Thijs
  10. You can't click anywhere on the vehicle, you need to click exactly on the attachment point (it looks the same as the ones on a hydrant). If you can't see it try to zoom in and retry clicking on it. The water tender has four attachemnt points (1 on the left side near the pump, 1 on the right side near the pump and two on the back), the truck has two attachment points (on the back of the vehicle). you're other question is already answered here. greetz, Thijs
  11. Fisrt open the enter car script, check the name that the ambulances have (it starts with hoppah and then some numbers will follow). Then open the editor and load the free play map. You need to place the fire trucks from the freeplay folder on to the map, not the trucks from the folder fire fighting vehicles. Those are just for the misions. After you've placed them you need to open the propreties screen and fill in the name you found in the enter car script. You can fill in the name next to vehicle name. In the LA mod for EM3 fire fighters can already connect their hoses to the pump. Select a pumper or a truck and then choose the option 'water tender' Their now will be four or two (depending on the vehicle) points on the vehicle to connect fire hoses. greetz, Thijs
  12. Select two paramedics (at the same time) then click the ambulance and select the option 'get stretcher' If you want the paramedic to become a doctor just select one and the choos the option 'get stretcher' greetz, Thijs
  13. Someone thought of it, but there where quite a few problems trying to make it work. They couldn't add the divert traffic script to a car beacause it can only be given to persons and you can't make a person out of a car. There where also some problems with the animation (the police offciers stop sign) they couldn't solve. So they stopped working on it. There are lights on emergency vehicles which look like traffic diuverting lights, but I thought none of them actually make the cars go another way. In some german mods there are traffic cones with a light on them that have the same effect. greetz, Thijs
  14. you don't need to press ctrl+alt+delete, that will reboot your pc. you need to press ctrl+esc or alt+esc (depends on your pc). Also pressing the start menu button (between ctrl and alt) sometimes works. greetz, Thijs
  15. Basicly using the editor and making missions are two separte things. You can learn how to use the editor without any knowledge of scripting what so ever. There is even a written tutorial added to the game (start --> programs --> emergency 3--> editor manual). It teaches you how to choose a map underground, how to place buildings, lay down paths etc. The skills you learn in this tutorial, you can use to modify the already existing maps (both the standard ones and the ones included in the mods). If you want to learn to make missions you need a whole other set of skills besides working with the editor. You need to be able to script, change files and data, use photoshop (to make map undergrounds) and if you want to make your own vehicles you need to be able to use Z-modeler (tutorial is available on this site). Furthermore you need to know exactly what files you need to create, adapt and overwrite in order for you to make new missions. I explained it a couple of times on this forum already, if you use the search function and type EM3 editor, I think you will come across the list of files you need to adapt. good luck, Thijs
  16. Why would you want a demo you need to pay for? Just use one of the free ones mentioned above.
  17. there are some downloadable low poly models on the z-modeler website. Maybe there are a few buildings in the database as well good luck, Thijs
  18. you read the question wrong: the question was when EM3 shuts down in freeplay is it during a normal freeplay mission (so you didn't load any mods) or does it happen when you've loaded a mod (e.g. LA MOD)? If it happens when you've loaded a mod Utrecht is correct: that's a known bug and it happens all the time. It can happen once or twice during the normal game (without loaded mods) but when it happens more often (almos every time) something is wrong with the game. greetz, Thijs
  19. Does it happen if you play freeplay during a mod (LA MOD) or during the normal game?
  20. I explained most you need to do in a few other topics, but I can't find them at the moment, maybe you can find them with the search engine (upper right hand corner). Working with the editor isn't that difficult. It's all the things that need be be done next to editing a map that really make it a pain. If you want to make missions or compilcated commands (like a go back to base command) you really need to be a good scripter. For the vehicle skins and the map undergrounds you need to be able to use photoshop, if you want to make your own models, you need to use Z-modeler. There are tutorials available for the editor (on the EM3 CD), Z-modeler (on this forum) and photoshop (anywhere on the web, just google it). But trust me it takes months to learn. So if you want to make a completly new mod you probably won't be ready in a week or so. greetz, Thijs
  21. No idea, you'd have to check the read me to see who designed them and then you'll have to ask his/her permission. greetz, Thijs
  22. translating the complete mod is too much work for me, but if you post the commands that you don't understand here, I'll translate them for you. greetz, Thijs
  23. shouldn't the extension of the file be .e4mod instead of .em4mod?
  24. You can land on the grass south of the cars of the spectators. When you tell the officers to get out and talk to the spectators they get in their car and drive away. greetz, Thijs
