So, what the point of it if it really isn't a physical country. I guess I'm just confused by the whole thing/ idea of it. Is it more a hobby than anything?

You run disk 1 (says install on it). After it is finished (about 10-15 minutes) it will say put in disk 2. Put disk 2 and it will start up the game after a few popups.
Don't worry about the installing disk 2. That is a separate process and if you don't know how to do it you don't have to worry about it. On some games it speeds up loading rates, etc, but in GTA V it does the opposite and creates graphical loading errors, etc.

Sweet, I'm picking mine up in less than a hour.

Sweet, awesome job Hoppah and MikeyPI! Good to hear MikeyPI is still around.
-
Its legitimate. Cant wait for it to be approved and try it out!
-
That is insanely awesome!

Is it just me or is there really no FD?
I was thinking the same thing... haven't found any legitament pictures showing one yet, but for how detailed the map and area is, I'm sure they are represented in the game for sure.
-
Almost all my favorite stations! Awesome job, love it!

Yes, if there are spawn points on the map, you can change the spawn frequency fairly easy.
What do you change value too to lower the amount of pedestrians? I lowered them all down to at least one or lower, but it didn't seem to make a difference so I just deleted a majority of pedestrian spawns.

Or select a rescue 1 ff and tell him to take off his bunker gear. Then select get SCBA. Instead if getting an SCBA, he will put on SCUBA gear.

My guess from experience is that the F(F) like you said probably means two counts of Felony charges.
For (DF) I'm guessing it refers to the police report. From what I find it looks like different services start with two letter abbreviations.
EX:
Abandoned Vehicle Reporting/Removal (FN-1700.0250)Accident Records (DF-7000.4590-150)Active Arrest Warrants (DF-7000.4590-020)Community Crime Prevention Programs (FN-1500.1550)Crime Investigation (FN-1300)General Crime Prevention Programs (FN-1500.2150)Law Enforcement Education/Information (FR-4500)Municipal Police (FL-6500)Noise Abatement (JD-6500.6000)Police Reports (DF-7000.4590-700)Rabies Control (JP-1500.1700-700)Sewer System Maintenance (TE-8920.9000-830)Traffic/Parking Ticket Information/Advice (FT-9100.9100)Therefore the DF refers to Police Report/ Warrants/ Accidents. Just a guess though, its all I could find. -
Yes, volunteers in the US are the main fire fighters for the area they serve. They use all tools and fight fires the same way career fire fighters do and are of all ages.

Didn't you guys say something earlier about a button to skip calls or was it taken out?
-
This is why we love you Hoppah!

Here is the download: http://www.emergency-forum.de/index.php?page=DatabaseItem&id=1560
(You have to make an account at emergency-forum.de to download the mod.)

I'm not sure what your plans are for the future of this version are, but I got a potential idea. Did you guys think about using a smaller map size, maybe 1/2 to a quarter size of the current map and just include one, maybe two stations on the map for the standard version? I'm not 100%, but it should allow more computer to play it while still giving a NYC feel, plus it would make it more of a in depth game since you have fewer units to manage. Just an idea, I know it would more than likely take a lot of work.

Awesome mod, best version so far! The only issue I have is with pedestrians, they seems to freeze in place rather than move for responding emergency vehicles. They move after I'm able to move the vehicle away, but this can be tough in tight spaces, especially with ladders/ rescues/ etc. Is there anyway to make them run out of the way like in other mods?
-
The color of the star of life varies, although traditionally/ originally blue it is often modified to fit the design scheme of units.

Oh, so you're saying the explorers are the two on the EMS and three on the engine? So you have five explorers per shift?
No, five fire fighters. Typically we will only have one explorer on per shift. We have had two before though or an explorer and a civilian rider. Our staffed station isn't very big, so anymore people would be uncomfortable. However, our new station station is almost complete and it is massive.
-
Ya, we have four fire fighters and a battalion chief on. Two on the EMS Vehicle (non-transport) and three on the Engine company.
-
Sorry. Asking why. I have NVIDIA
It is possibly that cards that aren't intel can still not be powerful enough to handle the mod. What model NVIDA do you have?

FDNY wouldn't be all that great. Most explorers don't have gear and most of the posts aren't based out of stations but local community buildings. You are better of at a department that gets you involved in operations and training with fire personnel if you really want to be a fire fighter.
I am a Cadet for the LAFD. We get to ride out to any emergency and we even get to work at a structure fire if we get one. We throw ladders, lay supply lines, and make entry using forcible entry tools. Any of you guys get to do this kind of stuff?
That's like my department. We are on shift with crews and get to operate as part of the crew. We train, run calls, eat, sleep, workout, etc. everything with the crew. It really is awesome for upcoming recruits like myself. It really gives 99% taste of what it is about. Can do everything except go into a total IDLH or a similar situation (ie. Vertical Ventilation, etc.)
