  1. Aren't you already the dispatcher in the game? I'm a POST certified Dispatcher and worked both Law and Fire at various points in my career. As a dispatcher, you find out from the Call Taker the type of incident, a few details, and location, and you decide what units to send.

    In the game, you find out from the little dude in the corner the type of incident, a few details, and the location, and it's your job to decide what units to send. Do you call from off map? Do you use the units in the stations? Do you send an ALS engine and BLS ambulance for transport? Is it in an area where the Squad might get there first? Do you send both the squad and an ambulance to see who will get there first? Is it a fire and you don't want to deplete all of your station resources so you send a light force from FS1 but call for engines from off the map so something is still inside the station in case a call comes out next to it or far from the off-map entry point?

    I've never played the Winterberg mod, but I don't see how pressing a button and having it make those decisions for you is worth having. The thing about the LA Mod and LA Emergency services in general is the flexibility that we have in responses. There are numerous units that are similar, but not the same. From ALS engines, to BLS engines, to USFS engine which is smaller and is more useful in the forested parts of the map, but has no deck gun.

    In real life and the game, there is no "alarm system" for just that reason. If the Incident Commander wants 2 task forces and 6 rescue ambulances, that's what he'll call for.

    That is exactly how it works now. Sometimes they stop and comply, other times they just ignore the office and keep running. The improvement in the next version which I dont beleive was in the last, is that if the suspect is shooting at you, your only two choices are to pull your gun and return fire, or attempt to grab him without pulling your gun.

    Pull over and pursuit commands have already been discussed in this thread.

  2. ehm I have some problems with that demo, once I have downloded it I cant run the installation program, I dont know what the problem can be. I have vista and I dont know if thats the problem with this game, someone that haves a clue about what I can do ?

    I dont get it!!! When I download it i just get a word document. No file or anything.

  4. Several German modes have done it, and done it well. In fact, most of the German mods for em3 had at least 1 volunteer station, sometimes several. Whether this can be transferred to em4, I really don't know, though Winterberg has something like it

    Some could do Elk River Fire Dept.

    Station 1:

    Engines 2

    Rescue 1

    2 Brush Rigs

    2 ALS Ambulances

    1 Water Tender

    Station 2:

    1 Engine

    1 Ladder

    2 Brush Rigs

    1 ATV (On Trailer)

    1 Water Tender

    My dad is a fire fighter there. :)

  6. The good news is that with 1.6 just having come out with so many new features and toys, we're content to wait for quite some time. Heck, the new entry points and the FBI alone have changed the way I handle the missions and I'm still having a blast getting used to all of the new stuff. Mikey did such an awesome job with the bike I find myself looking at the LAPD harleys as I pass by each day and noticing all of the little details he added.

    Heh, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not ready to think about 1.7 yet, but the new manual and EMS system will be awesome. And yes, I spent hours trying to figure out how to get people onto the freaking roof during a fire, I admit it!!!

    How do you get on the roof??

  7. I help you, because you've helped me too (with sirens and tips). I'm happy you've uv-mapped the ambulance by yourself, because uv-mapping a model is boring work. Badly, I can't make every model for your mod, because I want to work on my own mod and I don't have all the time of the world. Besides that, I want to help Stan with his mod too.

  8. Oh yes, there are certainly more people who are willing to money, but I can't ask money for my mod.

    It's forbidden to use games (Emergency 4 in this case) to earn money.

    Even if it was legal to do that, 99% of the people would just download the mod from others.

    The only thing I can do is that people can donate money if they want, but I can't and won't force people to do that.

    Besides the money thing I just don't have the time to build a huge mod like that.

    There might be ways to make an installer so people can choose to install what mod parts or cities (LA, NY, LV etc...).

    That's better than putting everything in 1 huge mod, but like I said. That's too time consuming and it would be almost a full-time job for 1 year to build that.

    You should take a long time to create a huge mod. I would wait for a big la mod with tons of stuff. :1046276086_Hail: :23_31_4:
