Guess the Emergency Vehicle Challenge

Recommended Posts

I have two new rules that I think might be helpful based on the way this topic has been going recently, but since it's Newfoundkings topic, he has the right to do what ever he wants with these rules.

1. If you took the picture yourself, make sure that there are pics of the department/rig somewhere on the internet so people can have somthing to find, because otherwise only people who can reconize the unit from what they've seen in real life can guess the anwser.

2. make sure that there is somthing to go on because in Paranoid's picture, all there is is a yellow fire truck, and even on the 22" screen on my IMac, I cant read any of the decals or lettering on that truck, and also there is nothing to give away the location minus the one car with the canadian flag license plate, but that could just be a proud canadian native living in texas based on that pic.

Ajax or Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Nope.

Maybe the City of Surrey?

or Brampton Fire and Rescue from Ontario?

*off topic @ NewFoundking : Is there a reason why units at some fire departments are yellow while others are red, or is it just due to their age?

Nope.

New Hint: This city has a steel Mill.

There is a lot in my picture. There a best buy, Wal-mart, Michaels, Rona. I could not zoom in as I was using my Cell Phone. Nor could I get closer other wise I would missed the picture.

that leaves Sask basically... So second thing, answering questions... I shall add those two rules that were suggested....

And Yellow/lime green has been recognized as the easiest colour to see, so some departments are going with that to add to their visibility, however some departs... (LA NY, SJ ) like to keep the red.... Choice of the Department Leader(whatever it is called, depending on where it is)

NEW RULES (post 1)

RULES UPDATED

1. If you took the picture yourself, make sure that there are pics of the department/rig somewhere else on the internet so people can have something to base it on, because otherwise only people who can recognize the unit from what they've seen in real life can guess the answer. so Basically, if you took it make sure you can find other pictures of this department somewhere else, or else you'll be Disqualified

2. make sure that there is something to go on. Other words use common sense. The car in question must be at 1/4 of the picture, and the main thing in it... So that means you can't use far away pictures. At least show a logo. If not, then you will be DQ'd and someone else will step in. So no far away pics that you cannot recognize the vehicle.

3.NO PHOTO SHOPPING! Photo shopping of any sort isn't allowed, so no blurring or censoring anything in the picture, unless it would get you in trouble with the TOS (porn, vulgarity, etc.) So you cannot black out a name or logo at all! However you can crop the picture if there is like other vehicles that would distract the main object... like three departments police cars, you can block out the ones you aren't using. BUT ONLY if they are from different departments.

Nope

It also not in AB

No one has even got the province right so far.

Newfoundland, Manitoba, im wanna say New Brunswick but, Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan are what are left. are those any of them? or is it from a 'territory' like the Northwest Territories, etc.?

If this website is kept up to date, then the only places would be....Manitoba...and, that's it (going by the website and provinces which are not right).

I'm going to say it's: Portage la Prairie fire department.

I can't make sense of this. The only province from that list I was looking at that feature steel mills and not in your list of incorrect provinces is Manitoba - but the only steel mill is in Selkirk, and their fire engines are red :(

Since no one got the correct answer.

The correct answer is

Regina, Saskatchewan

From Wiki

It was not returned to private automotive manufacture after the war and became derelict. Imperial Oil long maintained a large refinery on the northern outskirts of Regina and IPSCO Inc., a leading world producer steel of plate and pipe and as of July 2007 a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Swedish steel company SSAB, began in Regina in 1956 as Prairie Pipe Manufacturing Company Ltd; while the bulk of its assets and customers are now in USA and it has its operational headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, it retains its registered office and substantial manufacturing facilities in Regina.

The mill is now called Evraz.

Some can decide who goes next I am done.
