  1. I think that Tim is a paramedic (well, German equivalent) in Germany.
  2. My computer is far big enough, and the installation of EM4 is a fresh install, so there's no reason for it not to work :\
  3. Oh, okay, I thought that it meant one of those vans or trucks with a big satellite array on the roof
  4. Why would they put a dish on it if it's not a control vehicle?
  5. It is real. I won't show a video because it's off topic, but basically, a police car drove onto a movie set and crashed into one of the actors' cars - not in the script.
  6. Is it actually a simulator? Videos?
  7. Oh, I didn't notice that in any other mods. Perhaps it's that certain cars in Winterberg Mod go insanely fast when they have the lights on. Anyway, whatever you make of this mod, it's certainly going to stand out from the crowd with all the brilliant effort that's being put into it, even if it doesn't fix every problem EM4 presents.
  8. Don't know if it's already been posted or not, but I didn't see it, so here goes. Basically, as they were filming a car chase scene in Transformers 3 in Washington D.C., the police received a bomb threat call. The road that had been closed off for the filming happened to be the quickest route to the call, and as terrorism is a big issue, especially in America (and in the head of government too), they needed to take the shortest route. Thus, you get a bomb squad officer speeding through the set of a car chase scene in Transformers 3. The outcome is not good.
  9. When you get round to adding the crashes into the map (assuming you're going to create a custom one), add in the crash where a bomb-squad officer drove onto the movie set with lights and sirens to get to a bomb threat call fast and then ended up crashing into Bumblebee during a filming of a Transformers 3 car chase, as it happened in Washington D.C. and was a weird moment.
  10. Satellite units are usually mobile command units, deployed to large scenes where it is necessary for a controller to get up close. They would really only serve a visual purpose here, because we'd already have all the commands as the player to dispatch more vehicles etc.
  11. Ah, so basically sometimes you won't be able to call certain units because they'll be off on a non-existent mission? Cool!
  12. Oh yeah, will you implement riot shields for the riot officers? Also a little suggestion I just had: How about making a "fast deploy" command for riot officers? You click on the van, click on the Fast Deploy command and then click somewhere, and then the riot police will automatically get out and form a line. A bit like how it's done in real life: To basically create a large protective "shield".
  13. About speed having to be changed in the unit file, what about in Winterberg mod? In that, cars go faster with blue lights and siren than they do without.
  14. He is criticising Wegberg and not your excellent mod xD Andrew, considering you have a photograph of a German police van in your avatar, I'm surprised you'd need a translation
  15. My game crashes to desktop when I load the map. I'm using Emergency 4 Deluxe, but I'm playing it on Original mode because the mod doesn't support Deluxe.
  16. Kookas

    Toronto Mod?

I guess he didn't notice the "NEW YORK" on the numberplate himself.
  17. Excellent work, am looking forward to this, especially on my new monitor!
  18. Do your cars really have that many lights? :O
  19. How about creating your own multiplayer system? You'd have to have someone get a server set up, but I'm sure it would be possible. It'd allow for more flexibility with multiplayer.
  20. It's been going really slow, and right now it's completely halted. The computer with Emergency 4 installed on it has now suffered some failure of some sort. I haven't yet discovered the cause of the problem, but I believe it may be a video card or motherboard issue - possibly with drivers. You see, when running Windows, the computer is flung straight into a 0x0000007E STOP BSoD. Ubuntu doesn't seem to want to run off the disc either, but the memory tests report that the memory is perfectly fine. I recently ordered a 24" widescreen for my other computer (the one I am on now, which is quite alot faster anyway), however, and I may well just start remaking the mod from scratch when it arrives, as I feel that the old one wasn't really up to my current standards. Unfortunately, because of my busy schedule of real life as well as another project which I am currently developing for GTA:IV, I cannot guarantee that this will mean steady progress. This busy schedule also means that I have had to order the monitor to be delivered this Saturday, when I will hopefully be at home ready to sign it and whatnot. Until then, consider this mod paused, as this current computer's 13" is unbearable for modelling, especially with the latest (unstable) Blender version.
  21. Anything is possible, you just have to find the means by which to do it. /cliché
  22. Very nice work, I have to say it's difficult to find real, quality modding content around here sometimes but this really makes it. I like the huge variety of vehicles, it shows how you're willing to put the effort in to create some atmosphere in the game.
  23. This mod looks brilliant. I really hope it makes it out, and that the release is nice and stable with minimal bugs. I visited Berlin once. I like how you're implementing the trams, too.
  24. Something UK modification ... it's clearly based on the City of London (as opposed to Greater London) I can tell because: 1 - The only place with police cars labelled City Police is the City of London, a tiny area within Greater London which is policed separately to Greater London. 2 - Those police cars look just like the ones from London in other ways too, for example, that very same Mercedes Vito is shown below: http://upload.wikime..._Police_Van.jpg Why don't you just call it "City of London Mod" or "London Town" mod? Nice work nonetheless, and for improvement on accuracy: - notice the vans have the logo (rather unprofessionally, I might add) on the side of them. - their cars have logos and such on the side, see below: http://farm4.static...._5f5a011d9a.jpg http://www.ukemergen...ce/p1160875.jpg - all their vehicles just say "City Police" on the front - there are none that say "Traffic Police" or even just "Police". - although the London Ambulance Service's older ambulances do use that livery, those are actually LDV vans. The Mercedes Sprinters are always yellow. Old LAS Ambulance: http://www.freefoto....rvice+Ambulance New LAS Ambulance: http://i.telegraph.c...ce_1350412c.jpg Don't take it harshly, just pointing some things out to help you improve your mod a bit good work so far though.
