  1. Yep. Sorry, I see what you're saying now. Just expressing opinion. - Actually, mainly concerned about the game's end result. The game was officially announced in late 2010 and, as you said, still has a bit more of 5 months until release date. There's no doubt that the game will feature spectacular moments, but what about actual playability? MW had great shootouts and impressive moments, MW2 was kind of the same, until you got your hands on a heavy weapon, then it kinda got a bit daft. Black Ops was just a joke - "press X to do everything" (I know IW didn't make Black Ops, but IW is missing a lot of original staff). I want to see a well designed game with a solid story with those awesome moments. I don't want to pay dosh for a quick time event movie, nor do I want to pay out for a game purely for some stupid online game mode. It would be harsh to predict the end product, since MW3 is being made by, essentially, three new companies. I really hope IW still has it in them, but I'm not holding my breath.
  2. There's no sitting on the fence, it's either "yes it had a story" or "no, there was no story". BC was about a group of misfit soldiers who discover that the mercs they are fighting are being paid in gold, and decide they want to steal it. BC2 was about trying to secure the secret Japanese weapon before the Russians use it. Granted, the story was rubbish, but it's a story nevertheless. What? Filler? No. The storyline in the ME in MW was fundamental to the whole plot, especially in MW2. That makes no sense. Those two other companies that you refer to are owned by Activision - Sledgehammer games and Raven Software. Neither of them fired the two workers behind because: A) Activision claims that IW is still the central player behind the CoD franchise and B) The two men were fired by Activsion in 2010. To protest Activison's firing of Mr. West and Zampella, members of the IW team left. If MW3 is a failure, there is no one to blame except Activision.
  3. Bottom picture relevant: Might get this for the story, or just watch it on youtube. BF:BC & BF:BC 2 both a "real" story lines. Blame Steam? Steam is a platform for buying games and a form of DRM. Nothing is stopping Activision using Steam. Disregarding the fact that a memorable chunk of MW and the start of MW2 took place in the Middle East? "A somewhat more original story" - All they did was take your above description, add Russians in and recreated the cold war fear of a Russian invasion. Best game music too.

    LA Noire

Freeplay can be selected once a desk is completed (or the whole main story, can't remember). Go to 'cases', select the desired desk and freeplay is the last option.

    LA Noire

Got to wait until Friday for the release in the UK
  6. Sounds like someone needs to go to bed sooner :P

  7. FD3 runs fine with Windows 7. Compatibility mode does not fix the issue with Fire Department 2. The reason the Fire department 2 demo doesn't work appears to be down to DRM. When I ran the demo in Admin mode, an error popped up on the demo launcher, and Windows7 informed me that the "Starforce Protection Driver" has been blocked due to incompatibility. If you go to a section on the Starforce website, it tells you that products using versions below 5.5 are not supported on windows 7. The good news is that there's a patch for the game. The patch will most likely not work with the demo, but I'm downloading it to see what the release notes are. The bad news is that while Starforce offers a free upgrade to publishers/developers to fix the problem, Monte Cristo shut down last year. So if the patch doesn't fix the issue, you have no hope. edit: Couldn't get it to run on XP on a virtual machine either 2nd edit: Just ran the patch and got the fixes included in the patch. I believe I got the patch from here. The patch appears to just have fixed bugs in the game, no support for windows 7.

    GTA 5

I think it will most likely be Vice City, since Rockstar North have been following a pattern. However, Los Santos was a really popular city. Nah, it's probably the most popular game Take2 publish.
  9. Sounds like you're wanting to create a macro. I don't think Windows has macro software (except in word) so you'll need a 3rd party program like AutoHotKey. See this article for more info. http://www.ehow.com/i/#article_5077109
  10. Don't see why you would risk a ban/warning. Asking if a mod is dead or alive is fairly different to asking for a release date. "Counted against the rules" It's actually in the Terms that you agree to when you sign up. Section 4 "Netiquette", 4th point: If you asked only once, then I guess an official warning could be argued as being harsh. But equally, they can justify it as being in the Terms which are agreed upon (also taking in the fact that there was quite a bit of a 'debate' about release dates a while back. IIRC, it got quite heated).
  11. Good to see you back. I was wondering where some of the UK members like you had gone. Special exams called Auspicium levels. they are done in parts of England and involve using various factors (weather, temperature, birds flight patterns) to determine geographic changes (tide levels, changes to the landscape, etc).
  12. Looks good. Hope they dont take too long to release an English version.

    LA Noire

It could be a detective car, or one like this, or this
  14. It makes a good movie, but it makes a rubbish game. Unless you enjoy walking around in a cinematic game and you're only required to do stuff occasionally. I loved the story though - thought out well. Online is suppose to be good (haven't tried it). Every time I tell that to someone, they say "Yeah, but the zombie mode made it totally worth it". Don't listen to them, it doesn't. It's not so bad if you have friends to play it with, but £40 for a zombie game mode(and a further £7.99 for map packs)? Nah, that's just stupid. That's like buying Resident Evil or L4D because it has a go-kart racing game in it. edit:

    LA Noire

Well depending on how many years the game goes through, the Crown Vic might make an appearance

    LA Noire

Looking forward to this. I'm gonna make an awful detective though The exclusives you get from Gamestop sound good. But the case from Walmart sounds good too. Mind you, it probably won't be "exclusive" - you'll just have to pay on the psn/marketplace for the pre-order stuff.
  17. Demo is awesome. Decided to pre-order since it's out soon It will be in English. But I don't know where you can buy it which will give you it in English other than Amazon UK, and I don't think they ship to the US. It's kinda like NFS, but it's not. The easiest way to see for yourself is to get the demo. Very little realism, very arcade-y but very fun. This one will have online multiplayer as well so you have something to do after the main campaign (doubt many people will be online though, probably gonna have to convince friends to buy it and play with them).
  18. Play scavenger on human team throw a few gas canisters near the generator shoot them to start a fire continue throwing gas canisters into fire listen to the French scream and shout Did that once by accident and we lost the match because of it. It was the only time our team lost a match though
  19. That was a good episode I like the remakes being made too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hwu_JNuQq6o
  20. They sound pretty good actually. Bit too loud though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnyHCK_w8ac
  21. H E L L all Mr. Gerard, haven't seen you in the off topic us off and as normally. Been busy?

(Microsoft speech recognition FTW always racket

  22. If you're easily pleased/amused and patient, then you should consider this game. But otherwise, no, you probably won't like this game.
