  1. Hello guys, I have been thinking about making a sub mod for my local area for the past few weeks and I have finally came to the decision of starting it. I do not know how long this will take me, but I expect to work on it all summer long. If anyone wants to help out, feel free to message me. I could always use a helping hand. Background: Toms River, New Jersey is about 52.884 sq. miles and has a population of about 91,239. The township has 6 volunteer fire departments (5 mainland, 1 barrier island). The township also has 5 volunteer first aid squads (3 mainland, 2 barrier island). These first aid squads provide initial BLS until ALS arrives. In Ocean & Monmouth Counites, MONOC is a contracted paramedic service who provides ALS in many towns. In this mod, I will be focusing on the Northern part of Toms River. FIRE Pleasant Plains Fire Department Sta. 30 Silverton Fire Department Sta. 29 EMS Pleasant Plains First Aid Squad 33 Silverton First Aid Squad 36 MONOC Paramedics Toms River Twp. Police EMS POLICE Toms River Twp. Police Ocean County Sheriff New Jersey State Police
  2. If you read what he said below the pictures, there are no lightbars on the cabs yet... He will get to it
  3. City is red/whie and the County is white/blue.
  4. Not always the case, I know alot of small towns that have their own first aid squad. Its pretty common for alot of towns to have their own first aid squad, or they have a squad that covers say 3 towns in one. But as for youre second part, that is correct.. The first aid squad im on is litteraly next to the fire house so we have a few firefighters that are EMT's with us (I'm on the FD in the next town). It is common to see alot of firefighters that also run on the first aid squad. I've even heard some fire companies get dispatched for a driver to drive an ambulance for the first aid...
  5. In my area, most FD's do not have anything to do with EMS. We have several EMT's but its not like we run EMS calls. The first aid squad runs EMS calls and provides BLS and then we have paramedics who are contracted out from each hospital i believe. We have only one ALS unit in our area surprisingly, they do exceptionally well.
  6. Haven't been following this mod, but wow... Some amazing work. Can't wait for a release, Im deffinately gonna be playing this. Keep up the good work.
  7. Amazing work! I would say station an Engine and rescue in that station as they would be your primary response trucks (Fire/MVAs), Any ideas about putting a house siren into the volunteer script in the future? Instead of the tones inside the station like in the LA mod.
  8. Not bad on that script. Only suggestion I would make is maybe put a small parking lot next to the fire house so the firefighters can pull into there and park instead of making a cluster f#$% at the end of the road! Anyway, I really like it!
  9. Alot of rural departments allow firefighters to respond in their POV to the scene. Many volunteer companies in a more urban area will require firefighters to respond to the fire house and they do not permit you to respond to the scene. On the other hand, there are some times you will see someone on scene in a POV, mainly because there are laws that if you are a FF/EMT you MUST stop at an accident scene if you are passing it.. So it is kind of hard to pass a scene when going to the FD.
  10. What you got against that type of rear? Lol, my company has that on the rear of our Rescue because we have a compartment to the rear that holds our extrication tools. It gives you more space sometimes. But I have to agree, I think a stairwell would look better on this truck.
  11. What about using the original? I think it is close to a big city like Boston lol.
  12. We're different people ..... Back on topic. I've read things online, I think it was from, KME or something but some apparatus manufacture was talking about rural companies and basically how they're trucks are speced out. From what I have been seeing over the past few years, alot of rural companies are starting to spec out larger trucks now to carry more equipment. This is mainly due to the fact of low numbers of volunteers etc.. So in a realistic stand point for this whole mod, I do not see a problem with the rescue truck or even having a ladder truck. They can carry more equipment to a call instead of getting on scene and not having enough people to roll out a second truck because they need additional tools.
  13. A ladder truck also has more capabilities than just climbing to a roof. They can be used for rescue operations such as say someone is stuck in a high rapid speed river, a rescuer can tie a harness off on the ladder truck and it can basically be used as a pulley/crane.
  14. \I know alot of towns that have trucks similar and they are volunteer. Everyone thinks these trucks cost a fortune but alot of towns have different ways as to buying trucks. There are different budgets that allow small towns to purchase newer trucks. Also take into effect grants that some departments may get. I know alot of small towns that have HUGE rescue trucks. Its always better to have more equipment than not enough.
  15. @Fred03, with your statement about private ambulance service, In my area, we have local First Aid Squads and then contracted Paramedics. So basically, if my squad is called, we will respond and start providing BLS until the medics arrive and they will take over and do what they need to do and then we will end up transporting. So I think it would be nice to see maybe one or two BLS ambulances for the first aid in the town and then a contracted paramedic company. @jrff64, Not true about the red/blue lights. My fire company runs red and blue lights on almost all our trucks except the brush and tanker. We have split red/blue strobes on the front and rear and lightbar.
  16. Something small can handle the campground. There absolutely no need for a huge international brush truck, a small pickup truck based brush truck could cover it easily.
  17. Hmm.. Not bad. I actually love that fire house. Just a huge suggestion, if its a camping resort and such, I would deffinately reccomend putting a brush truck in there and maybe a tanker of some sort. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.
  18. I love the tiller to be honest. I never used it in the LA Mod, but I recent just went back to play the good old Chester County Beta-Mod when Bama originally released ... And I always seem to use the tiller. Maybe it's just because I like to roll two truck companies to every fire
  19. Did you park all the ambulances at their fire stations? Almost every fire station has an ambulance assigned to it ... so ambulance response times are not that long honestly. And even if an ambulance isnt close, send an engine company and they can provide BLS until medics arrive.
  20. If I knew how to create a new map (roads and terrain) I would definitely work on a new map for this.
  21. Bama1234 released the Chester County Mod last year but it was a beta for what would later become a larger mod. He is know currently working on the new mod, "Montana Mod". It is the same thing, but has come a far way. As for the download file for the Chester Co. Mod, its no longer online as Bama did take it down. Ask around, someone will probably have it.
  22. Amazing! I love that ambulance!
  23. @bama1234 Just a curious question, will we be seeing another "older" fire engines? Something like a Ford C engine or 1985 Pierce Arrow ? Those are the kind of engines I always picture out in Montana. Would be a nice feature.
  24. I have AMD Radeon graphics and it runs smoothly. But on a laptop, I can't be too sure. I had an ASUS laptop that ran other games perfectly but when it came to this mod, it didn't run at all.
