  1. Police cadets > fire cadets So much detail going into this!
  2. Like NFK said, it's more tradition than anything, and familiar lights. In the UK, we call sirens/lights the 'Blues and Twos' (blue lights, two-tone/hi-lo siren), because we're used to blue lights. Seeing a red light would probably not trigger the same response as blues. We only use reds for redirectional purposes and occasionally they'll be put on steady burn while officers patrol at night. To me, blue stands out quite well, red can blend in with street lights and brake lights but big flashy blue lights seems to work
  3. Adding units to the editor would be a good one.
  4. Don't make the mistake of confusing HM Coastguard with the RNLI, Coastguard tend to manage much larger events and the management of marine emergencies (this means the people that dispatch the RNLI are the Coastguard; unfortunately our government doesn't see fit that we fund lifeboats). Looks awesome though, good luck with making the slipway for the boat and stuff.
  5. If you guys keep asking for stuff it'll never be released! Looking really good though, glad there's this much detail being put n
  6. Are you talking about the one in the town centre? There's two Tamworth Community stations (i think) and the one I go to (Which is by the motorway) has the lights and stuff but only a female announcer. I've only seen a few shouts though, so maybe it wasn't working or something, or they just don't put them on like you said
  7. Sorry to post about something unrelated but I've never heard a turnout bell whenever I've been around when a shout has come through to the fire station? My fire station is Staffordshire and it's literally just announcements about the call and stuff
  8. Are you sure about the whole ReturnTo base thing? I don't mean to be a dick about how you should construct your mod but I think having the return to base feature is 10x better than HQ, and it's been a staple in practically every mod since Just my two cents though mate!
  9. Found this a while ago, it's really good. I've since learnt a bit more about fire services in the UK
  10. Hahaha, this thread. By light packs, do you mean coronas?
  11. That may be, but right now, all I see is rextextures.
  12. I like the command unit, but that's simply because it looks cool.
  13. I don't have an actual fix but if you tell us what mods you're trying to install we can probably upload our installed versions (I believe that'd be okay right?)
  14. Photoshop is a brilliant option for skinning. If you don't have it, your school/college is more than likely to. A lot of the stuff on that list comes after years of modding experience
  15. Generally they're released on sites like mega.com or mediafire, as uploading on EMP takes admin approval etc.
  16. One question though: I'm assuming that is you in your profile photo, and that you are a police explorer or something along those lines, right?
  17. Don't be be rude and unhelpful. There was another instance where a language barrier was making someone's posts quite aggressive and rude but you're just plain being r00d.
  18. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/19448-reducing-spread-of-fire/
  19. Well yes, but on a practical level they are locked
  20. OH! OH! Yes. The .dds files for LA mod are locked. In order to edit them, you might want to download this pack: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/files/file/544-los-angeles-mod-v21-unpacked-textures/ This contains all the textures. Say you want to edit a firefighter, find it in there. Then you can either just replace the actual LA Mod file with the unlocked textures or replace them all
  21. What file are you trying to open?
  22. LA Mod and its submods have gated wyes that effectively double the length, as you attach another full length hose on
