I did that, I took the blank ones from Hoppah's tutorial, turned them into png files, and

edited them GIMP. I turned them back into dds format and added to the unit folder

where they go. The ones that are still blue without a vehicle, I have not edited yet. The ones that are all white I edited with the vehicle picture.

    Norm,

I will send you one of the unit folders in a pm.

Hey guys, had issues with the .dds files in the unit folder. They would turn up white in-game, because the alpha channel was lost (still don't have a clue), so I downloaded PAINT.net and then edited them. It works now.

    Norm,

  3. Hello all, today I am preparing to edit the Fire Station scripts. I am not going to swap vehicles I am gonna add new ones.

When you open the Baltimore City Submod all vehicles needed will be on map. I have studied the scripts and I believe

that even with no scripting skills I can do this. everything is backed up, and I am ready to take my modding to the next level.

Can someone explain this so that a dummy can even do it (I am not a dummy lol).

    Norm,

    any updates

I have added a few more vehicles. Working on skins right now. It's slow going now, because I had surgery and rehab is slowing me down. Family and home nurses are limiting my computer time, but don't worry this mod is still alive. Gonna add new screen shots later.

well, we need to start. what do you want these to do? what relevant vehicles and in which stations should these scripts work for? these questions are needed for anyone to help you. what vehicles are police or ambulances in your mod, and what pertinent virtual objects have been named and setup?

is this the kind of policestation code that the stock LA mod has, or is this the one where police units exit their vehicles at station and escort the prisoner?

There is a mod that is using the escort the prisoner? How do I get this script?

    Hello,

I realize that you guys appreciate the use of the "search" feature here, and believe I have searched high and low for a solution to my problem but have unfortunately been unable to find one. I apologize in advance if I just simply didn't look hard enough.

I'm trying to install W00ds maps to LA Mod 2.1 (I'm a new player who just got into the game after discovering this mod). I'm using the installer that Hoppah made however when I try to install the map to game files, it gives me the following error message:

"Could not find an installation of Los Angeles Mod v2.0!

Please install Los Angeles Mod v2.0 first."

Obviously, 2.0 was the previous version of the mod which leads me to assume that w00ds maps are only compatible with v2.0 and below, which I'm really hoping isn't the case.

If it is possible to install w00ds maps into v2.1, could one of you guys walk me through the process or tell me how to do so?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think that you will find a wOOds map that uses regular LA Mod v2.1.. If you want to use the wOOds map with LA Mod v2.0 as a base try this http://www.emergency-planet.com/topic/18843-beta-july-21wiplos-angeles-mod-v20-4x4-w00ds-map-v1 by Xplorer4x4.

Like Matt said, check to see if the fp_params are in the right place. Specifically, they MUST be in the mod that you are using, not the EM4 folder. Mods override the EM4 folder. However, this will make it applicable to only the mod you put the file in. If you want it for all mods, delete the fp_params file for each mod and keep the fp_params you want in the EM4 folder. Then there will be nothing to override the fp_params you want.

WARNING: If you aren't careful you could mess something up and make freeplay unplayable. Make sure your fp_params are in exactly the place you want it.

Also make sure to backup your file just in case it doesn't work.

I was wondering if they're is a mod/file folder that changes the default icons on the side when clicking to call out vehicles? I've seen videos if people having different ones but can't find them anywhere. I think it's in the UI folder if i'm not mistaken?

Go to the "Units" folder Click on the "Vehicles" folder and you will see folders for Ambulance, Fire Department, Police and TEC. Choose a folder that you want. You will see that each vehicle of that type in the mod has it own folder. In that vehicles folder is a unit.xml file and eight icon dds files.
