i would like to remove a event from a certain map. how is that done? just delete the whole event from the map? or is there more to be done to make the event stop appearing. i would love to know this. and yes, im just getting started on the modding.

All events are scripted to happen. What event are you trying to remove? Does this event happen in various places on the map?

  2. Work is going pretty good on Baltimore City Mod. Almost had to start over. Lost hard drive on my laptop. Maryland State Troopers, Baltimore City and Co. As well as Maryland Transportation Authority Police and maybe a few other agency. It takes time when you are working alone. I will soon need work on lights. And maybe help on specific vehicles.

  3. To completely remove a mod from the game, you have to remove it from your game files on your computer. You have to go to C:\ then go to \Program Files (x86) you then have to go to \WizardWorks or \SixteenTons, depending where your game folder is. Open this folder and you will see either \911 - First Responders or \Emergency4. Open this folder and look for your Mods folder. Open the Mods folder, here you will see all of the mods you have in-game. You then have to right-click the mod you want to delete. A dialogue box will open click on delete, this should prompt you to confirm that you want to delete this folder. Click yes and the mod will be deleted. Open your game and you will see that the mod is no longer in your mods menu.

    Norm,

  4. Changing a map in a mod is a lot of work. Instead of changing the map, I choose the mod that has the map that I like. If you wish to share it after you develop it you need to get the creator of that mod permission.

A map relies on scripts and the vehicles it uses as well as the VO's (Virtual Objects) on the map. You can drag and drop the map you want to use into your mod. You than should open the mod in the Editor. Load the map and study the VO's to familiarize yourself as to there location and orientation. Next study your game scripts To Police Station Scripts To Fire Station Scripts, and To Hospital Scripts. If you want to know which scripts your vehicle uses open your mod in the Editor. Go to edit-go to scene and your prototype window will open. Click on your vehicle category (such as LA Ambulance). Click on your vehicle, then click edit. Your vehicle information window will open. Click on Edit Commands. This will open the Command Editor. All the Commands on the left are commands in the game. All the Commands on the right are the commands that your vehicle uses. All of these commands are script driven. the goto commands correspond to a place on the map according to the VO. There is more but I hope this helps.

    Norm,

  5. I'm back so I will continue to work on my Baltimore City Submod (not affiliated with Ladder 49). I don't have experience with scripts, but I study them to make heads and tales of them. I can't make models yet. I don't do lighting, but I am still going to try my hand at it. I had 75% of the mod done, but my health took me for a loop, and my laptop was dormant for over a year and when I turned it on a lot of my files were corrupted and a lot of my game files were missing. So starting today I am going to get my reference photos and redownload paint.net, and get what I need to get to work.

  6. Hey Everyone, I am back. I had a brief illness. I was diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma on my left side (brain tumor). They removed it and they wouldn't allow me to get on my computer. I have finally been cleared by the doctors and I'm good to go. I lost 95% of my files. So it's gonna take a long while to bring the Baltimore Submod back to life. I will get it done, since then BPD has changed the colors on the vehicles, and added the Ford Taurus and the Ford Explorer. The BCFD now uses the Dodge Ram Ambulance. I believe that Md State Trooper have added the Ford Taurus and definitely the Ford Explorer. BCoPD has added the Ford Taurus as well. I have also decided that there are vehicles that I would like to use that these agencies don't use so I will be requesting permission from a few Mods to allow me use those models.

I would swap the old disk drive out for a solid state, at least 240gb, and then supplement it with a 7200rpm multi terabyte disk drive if the budget allows.

Bonus: spend $15 on an HDD enclosure and turn that old 80gb into a portable HDD.

For your graphics just be sure to look at what slots you have vs what you need. Also consider how long the card is, I've pulled the HDD cage out of several cases just to make room for a card that was too long, then you have to spend more money buying 5.25 to 3.5 adapters.

If your CPU can only do so much then get a graphics card to match, otherwise you'll be crawling back to Newegg looking for a new CPU and MoBo. Basically consider what you want to do with this PC before you pull the trigger on parts.

I would recommend looking at PCPartPicker.com, it will let you know how much power you'll need and it shops around for you.

PM me if you have any questions, I've been building PCs for years now (lots of custom PCs from old gov't surplus machines for friends new to PC gaming, it's the cheapest way to go).

About how much do you sell your gaming rigs for, if you don't mind me asking?

The PNY Geforce, But you have to make sure your motherboard etc. Can handle it.

What PC do you have now?

    + Whats your budget?

Right now it's just a stock Dell OptiPlex. I'm gonna get a larger HDD, add more memory, and get another graphics card. Dell recommended the PNY on their site.

    Norm,

  9. Hey guys, I was kinda thinking about upgrading a desktop PC that I got a while back. As is it is very slow, and the hard drive is only 80GB. Memory is also falls short. I'm not even gonna mention the graphics here are my specs:

I would like to hear your opinions on these Graphics cards, Dell is recommending several.Norm,

    Dell Optiplex Specs.txt

    Radeon 6350 SFF 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA).txt

    PNY GeForce VERTO GT 710 - Graphics card - GF GT 710 - 2 GB DDR3 - PCIe 2.0 x8 low profile - DVI, D-Sub, HDMI - black.txt

Image uploads that are internal to the site are broken. For now, I'd recommend using imgur because the images load up and are formatted properly.

Here's a test, to prove that the images all dont end up at the bottom.

Pic from imgur shows up here between text

    bAtbTaB.png

The internal upload photo should spawn at the bottm, even if I inserted it below here: Its even worse, it didnt show up, period.

We do not know what is causing the internal image link, and internal link bugs to happen. We believe it is tied with the new feature where the image is automatically displayed and thumbnailed. We are working our hardest to work with IPBoards to fix the problem.

Ok thanks for the heads up. I'm loving this Dodge Ram.
