  1. I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Is the BMW the one from the London mod? The OC-D
  2. Dyson has offered to make a map for this mod, but being as the mod creators are away for the time being, its unlikely it wil happen any time soon. Its unlikely anything will happen any time soon. Also, instead of double posting, use the edit button, it keeps things tidier. The OC-D
  3. You should be able to buy Aspirin at any age, but if you're under 18 you shouldn't be taking it, that's what Google told me. Maybe if you're on your own they need to check that... o.O? The OC-D
  4. Well, as St John, we're not allowed to carry lotions, potions, pills, medicines etc. (bar Aspirin for Cardiac Arrests, Paracetemol and Calomine Lotion) so a lot of your kit wouldn't be allowed That said, Aspirin can damage Stomachs, Kidneys, Livers, cause 'thinning' of the blood which can increase blood pressure and cause Strokes. Do a Google search. How old do you need to be? The OC-D
  5. As gunswat says, the Patrol Issue is in the Bug Readme. As for the Taser, you need to be really close, make sure its drawn (not alongside the pistol - as it is possible to have both drawn at once) and that is not glitching any other way. Its been working fine for me. The OC-D
  6. @Entonox: Good luck with that @BritishArmyReserveCadets: Fairy nuff, I still might get a doble tubed, they're not that much more, and if it makes a difference to me... *shrugs* The OC-D
  7. @BritshArmyReserveCadets: Do you find you can hear alright when doing Blood Pressure's with the single tubed stethoscope? I'm thinking of getting a double tubed and was wondering whether it was just me with the problem...? @Entonox: I should be trained by August 30th! I've done my AFA course, I'm booked on 'Moving and Handling For First Aiders' this Saturday, I have IPC on 2nd August and my Assessment on the 30th. Incredible. Whether it actually pulls off, I'll never know. And why they've put the assessment after the County Show is beyond me. (Everyone who's getting assessed will have been on duty for 11 hours prior to being tested, not exactly calm and collected...) The OC-D
  8. You need to do some more research St John has a massive collection of vehicles from the ancient to the brand new, as a nationwide charity run organisation our resources are staggering: http://www.flickrive...ol/interesting/ My division's garage (Vale Of Aylesbury) currently holds two Crusaders (our standard ambulances), a Small First Aid Post (based on a Ford Transit caravan), a minibus (an LDV Convoy), two bicycles and now this brand new Nissan Pathfinder. However, we are the County Headquarters so they're not all 'ours' (I think one Crusader, the LDV and the Bicycles belong to VoA, the other Crusader is High Wycombe's, the 4x4 is a county asset and the First Aid Post is Wendover's) but we quite often get interesting stuff from other divisions as we swap in and out, such as '777', which is a Land Rover Defender Ambulance. The OC-D
  9. I can get to it, you have to register but not using Google Translate, something to do with the securty of the website.. How's your French? Then you need to post to unlock the link in the first post of the download thread. Hope that helps. The OC-D
  10. Well, we've now been told that the assessors haven't been sent (from NHQ) a list of criteria to assess us on; so we're doing the training, but we're not going to be qualified. -.- You're valid until 31st December 2012 on your 2011 competencies so you should still be able to provide medical cover. Costs for SJA aren't getting any cheaper, but then neither's the private medical market. Good news is we're still getting duties, our division is increasing in size and resources (New Vehicle ) Which is nice. The OC-D
  11. St John not being connected up and leaving people out of the loop so we look ridiculous. Shocking. I have my AFA Conversion course tomorrow, fingers crossed it goes ahead on the date and at the time and location specified. The OC-D
  12. It probably says 'Convoy Rear' or similar depending on its position. Nice pics
  13. If you're talking about the Medical Emergency at the bottom of the map you need to deploy a Ladder (DLK), WRW does take a long time to come which is why you need to be quick on the dispatch. And so what if they die? People die, you still complete the mission for clearing up the body with the Coroner. The OC-D
  14. As far as I know it takes a lot more work as it is a mission script rather than freeplay events, they shouldn't be too fast as long as the major ones don't come up too often. The OC-D
  15. Well damn right its gonna look unprofessional. We were told we were footing our own bill unless we did one duty per pound of the complete new uniform (~84 Duties) And I don't think it is the "NEW uniform for ALL Members"; bits we've been receving look nothing like you have. We have no word on the uniform yet, for a CHQ we feel out of the loop. The OC-D
  16. Thought so, can't quite stretch to it on a Student Budget. Ausavin, do you have anything constructive to say? You've posted on this thread twice with nothing to say - are you trolling because you can? Or are you a real paramedic who's a bit disparaging towards St John? Being as your profile says you're 15 and you like skateboarding, I suspect the former. I'd hate to report you for something so trivial, but please...? The OC-D
  17. I've seen the stuff in the catologue, the trousers look the best bit. The guys in our area were told to move to the Black polo shirt, literally months after Thames Valley Police moved to Black Polo shirts. Doh! Looks OK, costs an arm and a leg though, don't it...? The OC-D
  18. Nice, any reason HAZMAT 1 is there? I need to get one done. The OC-D
  19. Nice, so what are you gonna build it out of? Or is it just a design idea? And what's your plan for your portfolio and things? The OC-D
  20. @Siemens45 Apologies, meant to say hi in the last post, nice to meet you. @Entonox Looks alright, could be worse. So does the jacket have epaulette holders on the inside then? o.O I was told we weren't allowed to wear the green in case we look like paramedics So I see its made to St John's high quality standards then I've got my conversion courses coming up that will transfer me from old to new skills so I'm hoping that goes OK. I already hold First Aid, AED and Med Gases so its just a bit of reordering and Moving and Handling for me The OC-D
  21. St John Ambulance is a charity that provides first aid at events for a cost but also voluntarily covers Ambulance Service Trusts when they need the resources. More information can be found on Wikipedia and the official website. St Andrew's Ambulance Association does the same or a similar thing in Scotland. SJA is the oldest and longest serving medical and military organisation in the UK, its Cadets have been running for 90 years now and the Badgers for 25. The OC-D
  22. I completely agree with you, I've been on here a while, I can't mod. I'm generally appreciative of anyone who's willing to put in the time and effort to do whatever they like with the units, be it the most basic skin to put your town name on an LA Mod Engine. In recent years people have become more critical, the LA Mod and Winterberg mod set the bar so high that people that don't understand think that's the norm and that every mod should replicate it, if you don't have a thousand new scripts and eye candy and useless units then its not a mod. Wrong. Things like the Winterberg mod, the LA Mod, ERS Berlin and I will credit you, the Manhattan Mod are ground breaking. They all tried to do something none of the other mods could, they are the exception. And they're brilliant. (Even if my computer can't quite run them ) But that doesn't mean anyobody else's work is worthless, as long as it gives them satisfaction, everbody has to start somewhere. As for mods in the same area, how many NY based mods do you think have been started? Loads, how many finished, only yours and MikeyPIs so far. Treading on other people's toes is not a problem, hundreds of people would love to do/see a NY mod, but you finished yours, that's what matters. Another problem that has arisen is the internet culture of trolling. Which in my mind, is just being a d*ck, and any incidents of it should be enforced with a ban, in a tight knit community you can't have people taking the p*ss, its not fair. I appreciate all you've done for the community Dyson, you've kept taking things further and you have put up with a lot of crap, and I'm sorry about that. Main reasons: People are jealous, people are selfish and people are impatient. And you can't change that I'm afraid. But there are people who support you, even those that don't make a song and dance about supporting you, like me The OC-D
  23. He can play as long as he wants, I haven't tried Challenge mode yet, will give it a try and let you know in this post. EDIT: No, just played Challenge for a half hour or so, no problems. The OC-D
  24. @Jon Woad: The CTD is a known problem, luckily the mod doesn't take long to reload so its relatively quick to reload the whole game. Also, instead of double posting, please use the Edit button @Galantjunior: It sounds about right to me, I'm not really sure, although the models aren't that greater detailed than those in the L.A. Mod so I think it rests solely with the implementation of the scripts. The London mod uses both the Taser Script and motorcycle's that weren't generally released because of their animation and scripting issues weren't ironed out, yet. The OC-D
  25. Which of the police units seem useless? (Other than the repeats that try to get different unit numbers to make things more realistic) The drawing of a firearm is a problem with the armed arrest script, hence named because it relies on the officer being armed. In the UK, as you can probably tell, almost all officers are unarmed. However, people liked the idea of Traffic Units chasing suspects as per real life. Hence, if you have a problem either use the CO19 ARV's for pursuits or don't use the pursuit script. As per real life, the events where you need the pursuit script mostly involved armed criminals (the car thief has a rifle and violent crime's and bank robberies both occur) so CO19 would be dispatched anyway. I understand what you mean with the LAS HART ISU, but I think that's relatively easy to change if you want to dig about in unit properties The scripting of Call Unit commands is a relatively long process, the mod makers needed to strike a balance between getting it released as both knew their real lives were suddenly going to take priority. Therefore both the Crew and the Station Managers are in because they were a) already created b) nice bits of eye candy and c) place holders if they ever managed to return to the mod. Cheers, The OC-D
