  2. I know the stresses when it comes to the final release day, but please don't ask the modders for specifics because its always subject to change, they need to debug, package, and upload and you can never be 100% sure. Its happened to me and I've released the mod and a huge bug that I didn't notice basically made the mod unplayable. Just give him his sweet time and things will be mint  :cheers-mate:

  3. I can't wait for this mod to release publicly. I feel like a 10 year old on Christmas Eve.   :xmas:

Will this mod have the same sirens as the Manhattan mod?

The sirens used in the Manhattan mod were absolutely amazing. I've not found better sounding sirens.

Keep up the good work guys! Awesome job! ^_^

All the sirens are completely new but made to the same standard.

  7. Everyone has been busy but the Brooklyn Modification has been coming along. We are now going to give an estimated release date. This of course may not be accurate but our mod is in the final stages. By the end of September the mod will be released. We are sorry for the delay we have had but this is due to college, the Emergenyc project and technical difficulties. Beta tests have shown that the mod will run on intel based graphics cards and we are excited to give our new players a taste of what they have been missing out on. Upon release of the Brooklyn Modification, we will be releasing another modification that we have been privately working on and should be ready by Brooklyn Mod's release, our last installment for Emergency 4 as 5 is around the corner and we have even started our own standalone game.

Manhattan Modification the Upper East Side. This mod is basically an enhanced and optimized version of V2.0. The map has been refitted with new buildings and we have made the mod with all the new Brooklyn Modification features and new units. More on this later.. Thank you all for staying patient!

  8. The mod has been complete for some time it has undergone first stage testing and had some minor tweaks just had some lights to finish but personal life has prevented me from finishing it up finally were currently in talks to finish the last details and release within the near future.

Sorry for the blackout but with so much going on this project has been sidelined for some time.

    Hope this makes sense

    Can confirm.

  9. Hello, everyone,

The RCMP modding team is inviting of its "most active and trusted emergency 4 players " to inquire within for the opportunity of beta testing our fleet in the upcoming month. This is your chance to prove to us that you are a valuable candidate, and want the opportunity to beta test for the entire duration until release.

If you are interested and feel that we can trust you with our most valued materials, you will be required to put forth your best effort.

If you are accepted as a beta tester, you will provide useful feedback for us. You will run the modification through its paces as rigorously as you can testing all of its functions.

If you find a bug, report it immediately. If you find that the interface clunky, the game play is laboured, or it suffers from poor performance, tell us and explain in detail what should be fixed and what should be improved.

You will also promote the process. Tell others what you've experienced in a professional, objective manner. Don't publicly trash the product you've been testing. Remember that the we recruited you guys to give you an opportunity to remedy issues before the product is released.

You're here to help us figure out what works and what doesn't. If you mention the beta test, be careful not to reveal things we considers confidential. We are relying upon you for an objective test as well as trusting you to act professionally during the entire process.

We have hand picked 5 community key members and will contact them via PM with the golden ticket, so keep an eye on your PM this following week. Once this team have report to us with their findings, we will expand our beta testing base and use YOU for the team. We are only accepting 10 beta testers.

    Requirements :

    - Have been with the community for over 1 year or more, registered account.

    - Have been involved in a modding team or have credible modding experiences, and have a strong understanding of Emergency 4 engine.

    - is of age 17 or older ( for maturity )

    - have a youtube account to upload footage for us.

In order to apply, you must write a paragraph of why you should be part of the team, and what you can bring to the table. 200 words or more, any less will be tossed in the delete bin. You can send your "resume" to us on the emergency planet forum to C.F.D or Goog1967

The deadline to apply is September 14, 2014

Thank you everyone, and good luck. Think of this as the Willy Wonka Golden ticket ;)

With all that you are requesting, there are literally like 5 people on this forum who are qualified and I doubt any of them would spend the time writing a mini essay and resume to you guys. Id say, just do what all modders do when they release a beta, just openly release to all the modders who know what they are doing and what to look for. We released ours to NFK, Hoppah, MikeyPI etc.

  10. Yeah..I also noticed at around 9 minutes the firetruck went right through the doctors car.

A few things I've noticed also...

    • The flying camera scenes on the intro are similar to the ones from EM2012 and the 2 games after that.
    • The helicopter flyby is a reference to the TEC helicopters in the EM4 tutorial.
    • @ 1:23....an airship?! Cool!!!
    • The vehicle move command appears to rely on rectangles on the road instead of letting us choose a point in the road like EM4
    • Vehicle lighting system seems good. Wont judge it though till we get to see the editor
    • Equipment doors on firetruck open up as soon as crew disembarks. Same with doctors car.
    • Firefighter actually has to remove the person from the wrecked car
    • I actually laughed when the firetruck turned around in place....

      Overall, looks very promising!

Regarding what raf said, I certainly agree that it will take time for us to learn how to make EM5 as good as modded EM4 because as it stands now, stock EM5 is gameplay wise as good as stock EM4.

Reshaping the mod wouldnt take much time if what they say about the map editor is true. Vehicles and objects would be the challenge though seeing as how we would need to HEAVILLY modify most existing content for it to work in EM5. At least the models in mods like the RCMP, Manhattan and Brooklyn mods are detailed enough for them to be put into the game without causing a noticeable gap in quality compared to the content in EM5.

From what I can see, to convert vehicles, we probably need to make the vehicles alpha mapping, specular mapping and bump mapping (apart from getting the 3d model into the game). This is just basic texture work that most modders can probably do. This appears to be a necessary step seing as how other RTS games of this genre rely on those maps to make their vehicles appear more detailed then they actually are since newer gen games use pixel shader effects.

Person skins would all have to be created from scratch seeing as how the new game uses different, more detailed models than EM4.

Objects would be similar to vehicles I guess, seing as how they are only background items.

Houses would be different though because we would need to model their interiors and walls for them to be functional in EM5.

I wont hold my breath with scripting because we dont actually know yet how the new scripting language works.

I am actually kind of worried because they have only mentioned the editor for the map and nothing about making actual mods. Hope they do not screw us over. As for bump and spec maps, I doubt this game is up there in graphics and the level of detail you can see on something from the camera angle, I doubt requires them.

  11. From what I saw:

    Pros:

Looks to have accelerating and decelerating

Parking system where the truck won't end up 90 degree parked perpendicular to the sidewalk making for easy pull ups

    Lights look good

More realistic hose bend and physics

Hurst Tool comes with a generator

Stretcher system and animation look very cool

    Map looks well made

Pedestrians and personnel look very well made and animations as well

    Cons:

    Trucks move unrealistically fast

At about 5:12 Im pretty sure I saw the guy walk through the truck

Seems to have the fire health system from Rescue 2013 (not a fan)

Emergency HQ no firehouses or stations etc

Looks like the world famous stationary 180 is back 8:35

My 2 cents. Glad to see they finally have gotten to this point with a completely redefined emergency game. I just hope everyone here realizes that its going to be a LONG time before it is up to par with Emergency 4, mods and all. All scripts, buildings, sounds, commands, vehicles etc that were made by the first nodders in EM4 are going to have be relearned and redone for EM5. Don't expect to load up EM5 and be playing LA Mod anytime soon. Things will be different and things will take time. Be ready to be playing default EM5 for a while. Making new maps shouldn't be difficult but when it comes to reshaping the game into an american mod or making new vehicles, its gonna be a while. :(
