  1. I use a Bullard turtle shell. Red in color. Despise it. It's horrifically light and 12 years old (I'm a junior, technically, so I don't have to meet NFPA interior regs). I feel like if I hit it on something, it'd break.
  2. No, actually. LA Mod is free to use as long as credits are given.
  3. A Quint is a ladder truck that carries a small amount of water and hose. It's a dual-purpose truck that sounds great on paper but has limited effectiveness in real-world settings. I don't think anyone has managed to get a functioning quint in EM4, but I may be wrong.
  4. Dear lord man, where are you from? Even in the farthest reaches of our county, we're never more than 30 minutes away from a hospital.
  5. Nearly all fire/EMS units down here are diesel. I can only find one picture of that truck, and can't seem to find any information, other than that it is ESS 3173, is a FL-80, and is a fuel tender. So not sure what it'll be in-game if it's not a fuel tender.
  6. Forward lays are probably the second most common water supply tactic used here, with the first being water shuttle. Don't know where you're from, Mikey, that it would be an odd practice. Forward lay is a regularly-taught tactic in all SC Firefighting courses.
  7. Will the mod be compatible with Intel graphics?
  8. To continue on the coroner thread, coroners in SC have LE powers. In South Carolina, the county coroner is the highest elected law enforcement official. Above the county sheriff, even. And to reply to Bugi, I don't know where you got that local police has more power than county or state police. Locals have the least amount of power, then county, state, and federal, in that order.
  9. Not here--South Carolina. For instance, in my county, there are 6 major law enforcing agencies. Three of them are municipal, one is county, and two are state. You have: North Augusta Public Safety Burnettown Police Department Aiken Public Safety These three are municipal agencies. They have jurisdiction only within the city limits of their respective municipalities. Then you have the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. They have jurisdiction throughout the entire county. As a general rule, however, ACSO only polices the unincorporated areas of the county--it'd be overkill if they policed Burnettown, Aiken, and North Augusta as well. And then you have: South Carolina Highway Patrol South Carolina Department of Natural Resources They are the state agencies. SCHP patrols the interstate and highways, as well as responding to all motor vehicle collisions in the unincorporated county, as well as all incidents involving an emergency vehicle. DNR patrols the boat ramps and major hunting areas of the county, enforcing wildlife and boating laws. All DNR officers have full policing abilities, however. As SCHP and DNR are state agencies, they have jurisdiction throughout the entire state.
  10. I'm looking to start building my own desktop at some point in the not-too-far future. I want to be able to run most games on high settings, but I don't know what parts are best or anything like that. Assembling it won't be a problem, I have a few friends I can "motivate" to help me do that part. So, if anyone could suggest parts (I'll need everything), or even forums for computer building and such, that would be fantastic.
  11. Yes. Augusta-Richmond Fire-Rescue came across the state line a week or so ago to provide mutual aid to Belvedere Fire Department on a brush fire.
  12. All levels of EMTs can perform 12-leads here, but only paramedics can manually interpret them. EMTs and Advanceds have to take the monitor's word for however it interprets the EKG. EMT-Bs here can do Kings. However, Narcan is not an EMT-B approved drug here. Neither is nitro or epi-pens, per se. The EMT can "assist" the patient with taking their own nitro or epi-pen, but cannot give nitro or an epi-pen from the ambulance.
  13. OK, a few tips: 1) You accidentally put 991 instead of 911. 2) The red text is quite hard to see on the blue 3) As it's a US mod, honour is more likely to be spelled honor. The skin is very untypical of US police departments, but I kind of like it.
  14. Then they have the $ to afford it. Most true small towns don't, unless they have other sources for funding.
  15. I looked, but didn't find one. However, there is a lot of EMS equipment on here: http://emergency-forum.de/index.php?page=Database Most of it is free to use with permissions given.
  16. I personally would love to see new models, in addition to the FD stuff I've already mentioned. It'd also be cool to see some commercial engines, as most smaller towns have commercial truck chassis for their engines, as opposed to custom fire apparatus. I know that nearly everyone around here uses commercial chassis.
  17. My only problem with the axes is when I used a red helmet to try and axe doors--he doesn't have the "axe" command. Other than that, my most major problem is the brush and engine parking, as well as EMS parking. Other than that, it's very nice.
  18. Map looks really nice. Are there paths through the forest so fire apparatus can get through in case of a forest fire?
  19. The ladder in Station 1. And yeah, I had it connected to a hydrant. I'll try again later, see if it replicates.
  20. 1.4 is pretty nice, and I've only found one bug so far--the master stream on the aerial doesn't work. FF operating the aerial doesn't do anything, and I can't tell him to extinguish.
  21. Isn't San Diego a bit of a high call volume area? If so, then two engines, a brush, and a medic won't cut it. Would need a ladder, rescue, maybe another engine or so.
