  1. First off great work so far, I've been keeping my eye on this topic since the beginning and it is progressing very nicely and looks great.

Secondly I re-read through the topic and while there were talks of ideas for the map I didn't see anything that looked concrete. So if you don't mind me asking what is the plan for the map in the first release? Is it going to be the standard LA Mod map, a modified version of that map, or different map?

Hey, thanks for your interest since the beginning :)

The map for v1 is currently being debated, however, we may us the w00ds map! If not, we'll probably use the default LA or simply a freeplay map.

  2. What is the aiken mod where can i get it?

The Aiken County Submod is a modification currently in development as a submod for the Los Angeles v2.1 modification for Emergency 4 (9:11 First Responders). You can find the Los Angeles Mod v2.1 in the download section of this forum. The Aiken County Submod has not been released yet but you can find all information here:

It is possible that the mod will be developed as a stand-alone module to the Los Angeles project in future.

  3. The stuff you've done already looks awesome and I really appreciate your texture work, good job sir!

Regarding the Unita Artificieri, you could try to add some grey outlines on the white section, to give it the impression of depth :) I mean try to draw them on as if you were adding window on the side of the white section, but just the outline is drawn, and the rest is just white. You could also try and use an overlay. If you need any help, I could sure take a quick look for you; just shoot a quick PM my way.

  4. Looking at realism, I'd say the top is more likely. Planes tend to keep to the white, or even in some cases, polished aluminum because of the massive amount of weight added on by paint. I think one coat of paint can add like 500 or more pounds to your average jet

Yeah, I totally agree, hence I've changed it again XD Currently painting the 747 with a much more professional look! :)

  5. Thanks for your feedback guys, I'll probably make some adjustments to make it a bit cooler.

    Looks great and quite realistic.

Too bad FSX is so poorly programmed and runs like a snail on tranquilizers even on a powerful PC that far exceeds recommended requirements. Otherwise maybe I'd still have it installed.

LOL, I totally agree; made in 2006, but runs on my PC like game that won't come out for another year.

  6. Hey All!

Many of you may not know that I'm a massive fan of Flight Simulator X, and I've just set up my own personal Virtual Airline! Now if any of you guys would like to join, that would be totally cool as I really need some dedicated pilots :xmas:

However, I was wondering what the wider community think of my paint? Something a bit off-topic by me, but heck, I'd love to hear what you guys have to say, even if you don't like planes!

    • I personally really like the idea of the murder and having to question others to find out where the suspect is. You could also leave little clues around the map like skid marks, blood trails, abandoned vehicles, etc.
    • Another is a major airline accident. You could use a rural map and have an airplane crash. You can toss in wrecked vehicles, destroyed houses and trees, fires, and tons of debris and injuries. In the fireworks mission, there's a crumbling home that falls apart and can also be put into the mix. You can check out how that works and use it.
    • Maybe a major vehicle pile up caused by something as small as a cat on the road. You could use one of the missions maps that have a bridge. That way, on top of the pile up, you can have vehicles that went off into the water and people drowning. On the train mission there's a man hanging on the edge of the tracks, you can find out how that works and toss that into it too.
    • *The best idea I can think of* Maybe another train accident. You can use another rural town and have the train carrying many explosive materials. When it wrecks there can be many fires and devastation. The player will have to try to keep the other tanks cool and stop the fire before they explode and kill many more. You can make it challenging by adding many spectators to surround the area. Keeping emergency personal from having easy access to the site. You can also make paths for the vehicles to be leaving the area. Can also add an accident blocking the vehicles from leaving, so once that accident is cleared the vehicle can move out of town and make it easier on the player. You could also have it set so the national guard is coming or already on scene to handle the crowd and assist in getting the people out of the town.

Thats my ideas. Also that website I showed you, they have that script. I personally don't care for it since the player has to activate the sirens and lights manually. Which can become hard when the player is under pressure from a major incident and many units are responding.

Thanks for your thoughts on the missions Marshall, those are some really cool ideas indeed. I especially like the aircraft or train accident, specifically if it's just a singular accident and doesn't involve a terminal fire or something like that mission in the normal game did. I also had the idea of the traffic pileup, because dealing with car collisions in EM4 is pretty fun :xmas:

  7. 2. This is more of a game idea but could you make a script where all vehicles would not move without a driver. I believe this is possible. This would add considerable realism. You might want to make it a option that could be turned off however as some people would not like it.

It's definitely a possible feature, because I've seen it in some mods. I can't exactly remember, it might be the Copenhagen mod, but without anyone in the vehicles they cannot move. :xmas:

  8. The cool/sad thing is this happens often in the parks, it is often hard to tell weather it was a murder or a suicide at first. And the LA mod for EM3 has a even more investigative mission where you have to find out who killed a hooker in the downtown area.

    Ah ok, I didn't know that as I didn't play Emergency 4 :o
