Thank you, the script will be like welfordshire and each vehicle will have a wail, a yelp and a hilo. But they will not be the same for alle vehicles
Your welcome ah ok thank you for the answer. Looking forward to playing this especially now I'm using EM4 on my gaming rig lol.
Also you mention that you can control 32 units. In the pictures I counted 28, are the other 5 TEC vehicles? If so what ones can we expect?
-
Looks fantastic guys! When you say each vehicle has 3 sirens does that mean they are manual ones like the welfordshire or Manhattan mods for example?
-
is this mod still being devoloped or has all work stopped?
I believe all work has stopped on this mod, there hasn't been any updates from the creators since it was released.
-
Anyway... Back on topic redone this tonight:
Skoda station officer's vehicle
I've now got a 3rd station officer vehicle, This was originally the Hems Skoda estate car, now has the fire & rescue livery with a new lightbar (and pattern), antennas etc.

Yeah sorry Paul, got a bit carried away. Gone from talking about the skins to gta to Euro truck sim lol.
-
I guess you are having a...
Truck Mania
YEEEEEAAAAH
(Sorry for that one, couldn't hold it )
Hahaha funny enough that is the name of the SAMP server that I play on lol. Well played
Ha ha very funny
I haven't been playing too long. Might try MP as I have never tried it, but all I have ever heard about it is that it's full of immature kids who use it as a chance to go round ramming people head on and blocking motorways on route to ports. Would this be fair to say?
Its not as bad that what it used to be, the ports and most of the other places are none collision zones now. But you do get the odd immature person trying to spoil it for everyone else by causing crashes etc on purpose.
-
I know what your saying.
If you like playing on the trucking server then maybe try playing Euro Truck Simulator 2, it's great for passing time and I am able to play it with near minimal settings but plenty of mods with no lag.
I already do been playing since it came out in 2013. Only recently started playing online on the ETS2MP though.
-
LOL I guess. I do try following tutorials every now and again but I guess I'm just not that bothered. Wow, SA, that was back in the day. I still play it though because there's no way on Earth I could play 4 or 5 on my budget laptop which is annoying because 4 has LCPDFR and hundreds of mods while 5 is a really great game.
Lol yeah I go through periods where I will play and tinker with EM4 all the time then I go through not wanting to bother with it. Yeah I still play it on a trucking server but that's it really. I know how you feel, I think my laptop would explode if I tried to play GTA IV/V.
It's looking really good so far, your skins look immaculate!
Thank you ah there are one or two which are far from immaculate the fire & rescue officers BMW the textures are a bit meh on it if I'm honest lol.
-
No problemo. I can't even work out how to do lighting or add stuff to the callout menu lol. All I can really do is basic skinning (which is editing a photo) :-)
its easy to do once you get the hang of it, I looked for tutorials and help topics here and just by self learning really. Well don't forget reskinning a vehicle is were most people start in modding, I did I used to skin vehicles for GTA San Andreas back in the day lol.
-
Everything you have done is amazing! Really awesome edits
Thank you

Lol you change this topic more times than I change my socks. There wasn't a lack of interest, just people won't post if there isn't any new content to look at.

is this mod finished
No the mod is a work in progress. But it's most likely dead as the mod creator hasn't posted in there since June.
-
Technically it is as it uses mostly vehicles from the la mod. Which to be honest most mods will end up being put under submod as they use at least 1 mod as a base.
-
Exactly. More than 1 version of a mod can be made at the same time its not illegal or against the rules of EMP or other sites, but accusing them of stealing is just wrong and to be honest, especially in this case I highly doubt Ace would "hack" someones computer just to get a mod to showcase it for 50 seconds. Its a relight/reskin of the Manhattan mod you can clearly see that with the units in the video.
-
Right so he can't make a private mod based on Chicago because you're making one... Yeah seems legit...
If its only you and your modder who have the mod how could he have gotten it?
The CPD vehicles are from the Manhattan mod, which funny enough uses Itchboys vehicles. Look at the push bars on the CVPI's they are what the NYPD uses, go and have a look if you don't believe us, oh and no its not fraud because it has nothing to do with any of the content you are using.
Bottom line is you're just jealous because someone else has done a reskin/relighting of the Manhattan mod to represent Chicago and if you're going to be that petty and say your not going to release it because of this then you need to grow up. People use vehicles/parts/objects etc from other mods all the time, hell I'm using the vehicles from the River Falls beta in my private Montana mod. -
Someone has stolen the mod from one of my modders and has uploaded a video on to YouTube this isn't the mod and will be far better and different from the video any one who has the files any one thT has the files without my permission will face admin
Um no offence but your talking shit, it hasn't been stolen at all, you're just jealous because someone else has made a version. All of the units in the video and the ones you have showcased on here and the other forum are completely different. You can't go around threatening and accusing people of stealing your mod when it's nothing like yours. Most of the vehicles (if not all of them) in the video are from the Manhattan mod which they have used as a base.
And for those who want to see this is the video he is on about. You will see that the units are different to the ones he is showcasing.
-
Thank you for clearing this up. Hopefully people will stop misselling a reskin/submod as a full brand new mod.
-
I'd say not ADDING the vehicles, but REPLACING some of the patrol Chargers with them. I mean, Chargers are nice, but some variety would be great, too.
As for the models - maybe a CVPI? It is the most common cop car, after all. Maybe even the '06-'08 Charger instead of '13 one. If you want something more unique and interesting - take the civilian Caprice (the LA Mod's nineties one), slap on a lightbar, maybe a pushbar, and you'll get a nice classic cop car. Also, merging existing models is a nice way to start learning modelling.
One thing I hated about the harbour city mod was its all chargers... And the unmarked CVPI they did add could have been updated to a newer one...

So the topic went from shotguns to tasers to alpacas hahaha
-
Yes the battalion chief script relies on vo placed on the map. You can make all the vo and name them like in the la mod, but it still may not work properly. The only way to get it to work easily is like how Kieran said.
But I'm not a scripter though so maybe itchboy or others who have more experience in scripts can point you in the right direction.

Please use the search function in future it didn't take long to find this topic regarding recording software...

While I believe submods and full-blown mods would be great to... segregate? I have no idea how they will be distinguished. I mean, how many new features/models etc. must be implemented in a project in order to categorize it as a "mod" and not a "submod"? In order to move up from "concept" to "mod" category, you must have a playable build, which is a completely fine way of determining the stage of development, but how will it go for "mod" and "submod"? As long as admins/community are able to figure it out, I'm completely on board with the idea.
P.S. Beware, lightheadness:
*raises tactical shield to cover from thrown excrement*
P.P.S."Make mods, not war" - and then, US Army Mod appearead, which made mod?.. war?.. war mod?.. ugh, screw it, gonna go play it a bit more.
This is a good point you make, determining weather something is a mod or submod is going to be difficult. But maybe something along the line will be thought through and maybe implemented to help "segregate" mods.
-
It all comes down to what the moderators and administrators deem to be appropriate for the situation. I am just providing my opinion on it. If they take a different route, then its what it is. If they choose to categorize, thats it as well.
No matter what is done, there will be backlash and there will be a excrement thrown at both sides of the argument.
That's true, no one will be happy with whichever decision is made. Maybe there should be a big vote to see what people think about categorizing mods/submods etc.
but like you said its up to the mods/adamins.
-
Naah, I'd just have it as "mods" or "submods", but thats racist and discriminatory apparently.
Racist and discrimination... But, but the LA mod has a section for submods... Why not others? I see no problem with doing it like that. I suppose it would help stopping submods being sold as new full mods.
CAUTION TO ANYONE UPLOADING EM5 TO YOUTUBE

Yeah I learnt that mistake with EM4. I muted all music as I was still getting copyright claims even for the tiniest bit of music... Hell that auto flagger thing for YouTubes copyright tried to say that a siren from a fire truck was music... *facepalm*.
