  1. Yep I agree with nfk, I still play gta San Andreas more than I do gta v to be honest. They have so many mods and it was none of this micro transaction or dlc stuff or as its put "pay more for less".

There was another game I play all the time which is like 10 years old... I can't remember though it's too early in the morning for me lol.

  2. I have noticed even with the edited freeplay.xml file its still quite challenging, which I like now that I have a routine when I'm attending a fire (get the 2 scba ff & normal ff to get a hose, hook up to the engine, start pump and hook up supply line). I would add the rapid deployment although I'm not sure on how to set it up for this mod. Anyway here's a few pictures from callouts I've had:

  3. This is how it will work. Because the majority of the vehicles are the LA mod scale ones, rather than the massive ones, I will make all updated vehicles be the standard LA mod scale. The vehicles that will be reworked are the ones that are big. There is quite a number of them. Its pretty much:

    • All new PD units
    • All volunteer FD units
    • All new EMS units
    • One of the original FD units from V1, reskinned, but scaled up.
This would require someone who can skin, light, and do lots of tedious editor work to my standards.

Ah yes that's what I meant Lol, it just looks a bit strange having big vehicles with the standard la sized ones. Ah Well good work takes time and but wouldn't the skins still fit the standard vehicles once they are done, as long as they are mapped properly?

  4. This would be correct. Just checked the changelogs of their mods. Corona patches IMO should be provided from the get-go, instead of leaving the player to have to find them. ENG51NE I believe quit modding because of all the people asking for "WHITE CORONAS PLEASE FIX".

Yeah I think he just got fed up of constantly being asked how to fix it. So he added it to the newer versions. Not actually sure what the reason was or if he has left the modding community all together or not.

  5. I feel this is important enough to need a post. So this is my general battle plan for this next update:

    • Delete all unecessary vehicles and scripts from V1 of Montana mod, that way filesize is lower and load times are shorter
    • Optimize all civil cars so that they use as few textures as possible
    • Start fixing as many scripting problems as possible, improve user friendliness along the way
    • Add in limits to gameplay to further reduce the chance of the player causing a bug in the system
    • Unit icons of V2 units to be vastly improved over the current state they are in.
I think this is going to probably be the 2.0.1 Stable Version.

Nice to hear what you have planned for the mod itchboy. Now that I have a more powerful pc I'm looking forward to playing this mod now :D

  6. Pretty much every game I grew up with 10-15 years ago has taken this route. The Need For Speed series and SimCity for example. The only game series really left that is still intact is the GTA Series, because the base game of GTAV is good from what I can see, and the DLC does add quite a lot, instead of just items that should have been ingame in the first place.

Once upon a time, back in the good old days of NFS High Stakes, the DLC cars were free and downloadable at the game website and various fansites. Now, the cars cost 10$ each and probably cost double for every variant of each you want. Same with the SimCity DLC's. Cities In Motion is a great alternative to SimCity though, which is something I'm currently saving up for, alongside GTAV, and a new GPU.

Point being, this is video games, circa 2015. Its basically the game studios milking every last cent out of every gullible, item-hungry user they can find.

I'm honestly not surprised the EM Series turned out this way really. I'm only surprised that they choose to milk something thats fundamentally broken and bug ridden, instead of something that actually is a stable platform for add-ons.

I'm in the same boat as you I grew up with need for speed & sim city etc. I can understand companies need to make money after the games release, but at least give the customers what they are paying or at least fix the broken mess that some developers leave them in. No wonder why so many people pirate games nowadays as most games don't get demos or public beta testing from what I've seen. I could be wrong though...

Oh and if you want a city builder I would recommend cities skylines, its pretty much everything sim city was meant to be lol, plus you can get a lot of add-ons for free from the steam workshop etc. Also I recently got a gaming rig... I love playing lspdfr on gta v, so much fun lol :D

  7. This game has gone the disturbing trend of pay more for less that many devs have done. Those who join into it are a part of the problem. If you don't like it, speak with your wallet, your voice has been shown to not matter

Unfortunately its not just this game. I have noticed it with Train Simulator 2016 aswell. Its no different from the 2015 version apart from it has less routes included and your expected to buy more as DLC... If you brought every single bit of DLC for Train Sim... You will need roughly £3000 :s
