  1. Yeah the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) is a 2 man team that are equipped to the same level or above the firefighters in the house, they can be assigned menial jobs on the scene as long as they can stop doing them immediately if needed. The job of a RIT (or RIC) is to go in and aid firefighters if a "mayday " is called, they often carry a specialized SCBA bottle that can be connected directly to a firefighter's SCBA.

RIT is a min of 02 fire fighters... I have seen as many as 3 Fire Fighters and a Officer.  It is really up to the Dept on how many you are to have and of course staffing levels.

NFPA also stats that you have to have a RIT team established within 15 minutes if you have FF inside a working fire... If after 15 minutes you do not have a RIT established the interior teams are to pull out until a RIT is established.   A lot of Fire departments makes Second in Engine the RIT engine.

  2. I believe im going to go with LAX because I really like the airport map that is already in LA Mod. I start working and cleaned up the airport from debris, I believe the fire dept will be located on the end of the airport where the explosion mission takes place, its right near the gate incase they need to get off the runway. Also have to start deciding what I am going to do on the outskirts of the map city wise.....

    As for stations..

Main Station (Located near Gate #2)

2x Crash Trucks - this is good for realism

1x ALS Engine - Most Airports are going with a engine as well in case they have a fire in the terminal

1x Aerial Ladder - same as above

1x Brush (Quick Attack) - I dunno about this one... is it really necessary

1x Light Equipment Vehicle - This could be made into a First Response vehicle

2x ALS Ambulance - Does LAX really have ambulances on site??

1x Battalion - This could be taken over by the First Response vehicle

1x EMS Supervisor (possibly) - Not needed

2nd Station (Not Definite) Personally this station is not needed.

    2x Crash Tenders

    1x Foam Tender

Thats my opinion in the matter :-) great idea though :)

  3. Ok so 4 tankers and 3 tenders? That's either a mistake or a gross misuse of resources.

Actually not really... We were always told that it is best to call what you might possibly need... It is better to stand someone down that are on their way then to call them to late in the game.  This happened a lot with a neighboring fire department on highway rescue.  Their is a bit of a Grey area for dispatching so the two Dispatching agencies would dispatch my department and another department together when they were unsure exactly where the MVI was.

  4. Its the same between a Engine and a Pumper where I live.  When I was on the fire department back home on the west coast we used to call our Engines, just that a Engine... But out East here they call them Pumpers for some reason.

Mind you Greater City of Sudbury Department also sends a Rescue, Pumper, code 3 to an accident and then the Areial truck follows routine.  I know Vancouver BC used to run with a Engine code three and a Rescue, which they call medics now, routine unless there is confirmed entrapment then both run code 3.

That's the one thing I find festinating and yet a bit frustrating with the service.  Same thing with EMS... British Columbia Ambulance Service calls their units Cars back from the old days when they used to be actual cars, and then you look at NYFD they call them Buses... it is soooo strange.

But again look at Greater City of Sudbury... They no longer have a Fire Chief, it is now intergrated with the EMS and the position is called Emergency Service Director or something stupid like that.

  5. Okay.... so what you are saying you have this basicly C://programfiles... blablabla/Sixteentonsblablabla/mods/Los Angeles Mod V1.9.3/Los Angeles Mod 1.9 ??

If I remember correctly... pull the Last file out and place in your Mod file... then delete the other folder... That should do the trick.  When ever you get the green wrench it means that the program is reading it as another file within a file.

  6. Is that not what I said.... oh wait it is on post number... oh wait... you quoted the post that I said that... Did you read my whole post?

Hummm now that is interesting and in my opinion a little bit pointless... Why have so many agencies that just have to communicate between the two, but that would be for another topic.

I still stick with what I said before mdjse1, taking the LASD Hummer from the LA MOD change the light bar on it to a LED and repaint it... You will have a nice and easy Hummer rather than taking the Hummer from the LA Mod.  It slopes down in the back any how so you would have to change that portion of it.

  7. I believe you are right Gunswat that would be the correct version.  I believe he also disallowed anyone from taking the models and using them in other mods.

Now however I believe someone said, nope double checked this page, you could how ever take the US hummer model from the LA MOD and apply it to this mod, BUT you would have to do some model changes and the such... I will stick to my original idea and suggestion of just taking the LASD Hummer and put the new LED lights up on top and reskin it to the DEA model.

Also... I am Canadian and am not really used to all your guys agencies... What does DEA really do... Are they a Drug Enforcement Agency?  And would it really be worth while having them in the game? Other than having them for the campaign mission?

  8. I've downloaded this folder and pasted it into my la mod folder but it doesn't seem to work. Is it because i have the 4x4 submod? please help and i would appreciate it if someone made a tutorial video

    Short answer, yes.

I have this loaded into the mod that you are refering to. you also have to download the patches located on page 37 post 723 and I believe there is another file that you need to download as well for the speed of the cars because for some reason they go a bit faster than normal.

    But again.... it does work.

  9. Dispatched to a MVA on the Sea to Sky Highway just past Britannia beach.  Arrived on scene to find Britannia Beach Fire Department on Scene, they don't do highway rescue they were on their way to a community event in Furry Creek, and came across a snow plow which had a vehicle in the plow portion.  Driver walked away with only a scare.  She had tried to pass the plow on the right and got caught in the slush and drove into the plows path without the driver noticing right away.  There is a picture floating around the internet of it some where.

    Second

Dispatched to a Structure Fire near my house, upon leaving my residences I didn't see any smoke or flames coming from the place that we were being dispatched too.  Upon arrival to the apartments a gentlemen casually walks up to the Engine and informs us that it was just a pot on the stove but there is a guy on the toilet dead he believes.  We go up the stairs and into the apartment to find it a total mess with.... Adult content on the TV, Computer, and numerous adult content mags laying around the apartment.  The gentlemen was indeed on the toilet nude.... We applied oxygen to him and covered him up so that way we could get him out into the hallway where the air was cleaner.  Needless to say I want home and showered after that call because I felt dirty... very very dirty.

    Third

We were having a meeting with our city leaders when the pager when off for a structure fire, we responded to the residence where there was a fire in the attic.  Upon primary search we found a full fledged HO train lay out in one of the rooms.  I am not sure if it survived the water damage or not.

There is more but I have to remember lol.

  10. I believe that truck that you guys are referring to was used in the G20 riots/protests that happened down in Toronto.  I don't believe, and I could very well be wrong, that E Division has a truck like that in fleet.

I just had a check to see if I could find any sort of information on what E Division has for a fleet but unfortunately wasn't able to find one.  I will do a more in depth search later on tonight as I am on a Fire watch at work today and tomorrow... Yep... Pay cheque is gonna look good.
