  1. I see. I want to have no rear stripes so that players can distinguish between ALS and BLS ambulances.

Absolutely, but it should be the old model of the ALS ambulance from the current LA mod with the hi-viz removed, like the one in the link below but with an 800/900 number.

Eventually these will all be replaced and every ambulance will have the hi-viz.

  2. Now for an important announcement:

Starting with the upcoming release, I will NO LONGER ALLOW DIRECT USAGE OF THE VEHICLES IN THIS PACK IN ANY OTHER RELEASED MODS. PERSONAL MODS ARE STILL OKAY. If anyone wishes to have LA themed units in a released mod, they will have to create their own.

Any existing mods using LA vehicles may still keep the units they took, but they will NOT BE ALLOWED to take vehicles from the next update and onwards.

And now to show the reworked ambulances. All lighted and ready to go.

Now with accurate rear lightbars, parts and high resolution rear box textures.

The ambulances look awesome, but just one thing is off. Any ambulances purchased from ~2007 on have hi-viz on the back. RA 827 in your screenshot should have the same rear as 102. All ambulances with the chrome grille should have hi-viz on the back.

  3. I have only ever seen a Ford E350 van serving as a USAR dog vehicle. Lightbar on roof, lights on the front fenders, no pictures of the back of it.

And I've seen pictures of the LA Co Sheriff with lights on the back doors, again nothing of the front window, but grill lights. The back is two lights, top half of each is amber, bottom is blue (like most LA Sheriff), with amber on one lit up, at the same time as the opposite blue is. Hope that helps and makes sense. Similar light size to the Emerg light on the back of the LACoFD Squad.

This is very helpful. Thank you for the insight. I do remember coming across that photo once. I also remember seeing a photo of a WHITE LASD van with square LED lights on the rear. Is that what is being referred to?

Are we sure that the white, LACoFD van is actually a USAR dog vehicle and not just a van?

  4. @Soldjaboy, Yes the LACoFD Squad will be released later on it is currently at the shop for repair (In Development.)

@billyfromhill Itchboy, never fixed this issue. In order to fix this issue you will have to use ZModeler. Reason why is because the model was not never given its material.

OK, I just wanted to make sure I didn't mess anything up when I copied all the files over.

  5. Do you have the LA police upgrade mod? This car pack uses several objects from that.

Also, the LASD Tahoe is missing everything?

Actually, upon further inspection, it looks like LASD hummer prototypes are included. Are these the ones for the LASD tahoe?

I do not have the LA police upgrade installed. I've been manually adding the vehicles, not just dragging in the folders. Where can I find that?

  6. suv_lapd2.e4p? That would be the LAPD Explorer.

The Tahoe replaces the original suv_lapd.e4p

    The prototype folders are unchanged.

The models on the other hand are organized by vehicle company. So Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, etc.

Sorry if my lack of organization confuses you.

Actually I was a little too hasty. I've figured out how to get everything ingame.

I noticed two small issues. The CHP Explorer grille lights hover in front of the vehicle and the LASD Tahoe seems to be missing prototype files.

  7. Thanks Mikey for a good explanation with clarity. The photos and videos are nice.

Keep in mind that this guide is several years old and many parts of it are inaccurate or completely wrong. LAFD now has some new KME engines that aren't mentioned in this guide. They also have two new water tenders making the water tender section of the guide completely incorrect.

  8. This is really excellent work! My uncle (also used this account) was a firefighter/paramedic there years ago and just recently died in the line of duty elsewhere and I never really got to question him about work there because I was also interested in his FDNY work. I have a few questions that I would really appreciate if I could find answers to them.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the newer 2010 KME Severe Service Engines (Example being the current Engine 27) but I was wondering if the 2 1/2" attack hose was on the back hose bed on those rigs and if it is a pre connect.

I am also wondering what type of apparatus was used before the '96 Pierce Dash rigs. I have found a picture of one in service as Engine 201. The link to that picture is here - http://www.angelfire...ics1/LAFD0.html - and I think I was able to attach the picture to this reply.

    Thank you for any information.

Follow this link to get info and manuals about LAFD engines and trucks going back quite a ways. If you click the "truck spec chart" and the "engine spec chart" it gives you a good comparison.

As for the hose. I don't believe LAFD has any of their hose preconnected to the engine. They may have nozzles preconnected to the 1", 1-1/2", and 1-3/4" hose in the crosslays, but I don't believe any of it is connected to the engine.
