How about replacing the commands "call an engine", "call a ladder", and "call a USAR truck" replaced with, "call a light force, "call a task force", and "call a USAR tack force". For the light force the ladder and an engine would respond. For a task force an additional engine would be added to the LF. And for the USAR TF it would be a USAR truck instead of the extra engine.
Also, how about making an EMT that can only stabilize. Then you could turn the white box RA into a BLS unit.
-
Let me chip in here. The LACoFD Squad, USAR rig, and the Aerial Ladder truck will have them. Chain saws and axes will be on all vehicles. Jump bags will be on USAR only.
Mike
You should also take the hose off the USAR truck.

Hahah, I hate most if not all non-realistic/fantasy games. I just don't enjoy them. All of the games I have played have a realistic setting.
I like some non-realistic/fantasy movies however, like The Lord of the Rings, buts that's mainly because I like the story and special effects.
Ontopic: Installed SWAT 4 + Stetchkov Syndicate a few days ago. :1046275747_biggthumpup:
I hate those kind of games too. I played Halo once, gave up. Give me Call of Duty (1 or 2) or MoH Pacific assault. That's why I play Company of Heroes and Battlestations Midway (I like strategy better then shooters).

How about having the single paramedic able to change into turnout gear with a blue helmet?
-
Its supposed to do that. It's a steady burn light.
-
You don't need the patch unless you want to play the original missions with the LA units.
-
So far, I've planned to add 1 vehicle.
When MikeyPI comes back to life again () I can finally add the LASD Prison Van to v1.7.
There might be more stuff ofcourse, but v1.7 will be more focused on missions and freeplay instead of unit improvements (like v1.6).
Good, the 6 LA missions are getting a little old. But I must say the addition of the USFS firefighters did spice up mission 6.
A side note.... since your adding a LASD prision van does this mean we might see a mission titled "Assault on a prison bus"?
-
Did you download LA Mod 1.6 (about 175MB)? Or did you download the 1.6 mission patch (a heckuva lot smaller)?
-
A side note... Does he have the LA Mod? If not I highly suggest downloading it. But seeing as your posting here, you probably know about it.
Anyways, to have a police officer put on a traffic vest, select him/her and click "get equipment". Click on the icon of the vest, and the cop should change at the closest vehicle (I think). If the cop doesent move you might need to select the vehicle you want the cop to change at.

How about having paramedic be able to change into turnout gear with a blue helmet. They could have a measure of protection from the fire and they could heal. They would be able to use fire extingushers and such, but not hoses and cutters. This still doesen't solve the problem of a paramedic FF though.
-
What if you could have firefighters take off their turnout gear and change into paramedics? Once their a paramedic they could change into a HAZMAT suit.
-
Thats what I was talking about... would a script work? I don't know because I'm not a scripter...
If you open the script and change the SCBA firefighter to a hazmat firefighter it might work, I don't know.

What about a police chief/supervisor. He could be able to do everything a normal cop does and he could call a engine, air ambulance, or SWAT in addition to everything else.
-
I contacted them. I want to know how much would just the software would cost. I dont need the "security dongle" and I can go buy a wireless xbox 360 controller for my pc for a lot cheaper then what they're charging.
-
well, negotiators are "special" :1046276313_Up_to_something: lol
i dotn know if its possible to add that trait to a normal policeman (with plain clothes)
no, take the current negotiator skin. Replace it with a civilian skin. So you should have a negotiater that LOOKS like a civilian but is really a cop.
-
i dont think its possible. for a policeman to be a policeman, he must be 'set' to a policeman; that is, in his traits hes a policeman so therefore cannot be a civilian at the same time. gangsters are set to a type of gangster behavior, and i dont think its possible in that sense to make a gangster NOT shoot at a policeman beacuase its hardcoded - not actually, but there are set types of gangsters like gaurd hostage or attack action force - so it . . .
screw it, im getting confused. im just trying to say its not or almost not possible or very hard.
well, negotiaters arent shot at. Take one of them and just reskin it and give him a gun and all the police commands.
-
What if for version 1.7 or later, you had plainclothes policemen. They could get right up to a criminal and the criminal wouldn't shoot at the police until the cop arrested someone or pulled a gun or did something pertaining to a cop. Think about a demonstration. The demonstraters dont attack police until you try to arrest somebody, sorta like that. You could do the same thing for vehicles, the criminal wouldnt know its the cops until too late.

I play a lot of Company of Heroes and Battlestations Midway. I've played a fair amount of silent hunter III too. Before I got CoH I played Axis & Allies (the Atari version) a lot. CoH is just so much better then A&A (though I could do without some of the swearing).
-
How about a unmarked police van. You could just take the engineer van and reskin it to black or you could just take the black van used by the criminals in mission 3. Also, how about a towed light tower. I brought this up before but nobody really gave it much of any thought. It would be usefull for those riots at 3 in the morning when your playing MP. Just make a light tower an option on the engineer van.
-
LAPD carries handgun as we know, but they also have shotguns in they're cars. I know it's a lot of work to mod and stuff but it would be nice to have a shotgun that all police officer could get from they're car like the MP5. You may ask what is the point in it since the handgun already are in the game. Well, it brings realism, and it is more deadly than the handgun. So what do you think?
I think a shotgun is a good idea. You could make it so the shotgun has a short range, (shorter than an MP5 or a sidearm) and no armed arrest. The damage could be put inbetween a sidearm and an MP5, and the officer could shoot without aiming. You could also make the shotgun so it stops cars with two or three shots, much like how a car stops when it runs over spikes. This way there would be an incentive to use the shotgun to stop cars, but the short range would discourage people from using it like a sidearm.
-
What about something like this, a light tower. You could have one at the firestation and have it towed just like the equipment trailer. You could even make it a option for the engineer truck to come in with one.
Also, I hope FBI guys will be able to get in the unmarked police car, and the various SWAT vehicles, not just the unmarked SUV.

I'm trying to play MP with my friend. I can't see his game, or any game for that matter. The funny thing is though, he can see several games online which I can't see. I've tried connecting via derect IP but that still doesen't work. Help!!!!!
-
OK, my buddy just got 911 FR and we want to play MP with the LA mod. The problem is I've changed a lot of things for personal use in the LA mod. So I sent my friend all the files that I've changed, so our files should match, but we still can't play MP. My buddy says that we should both redownload the LA mod and switch the old(changed) LA mod with the new(unchanged) LA mod whenever we want to play MP. Any ideas?

I noticed that there are three different types/colors of health bars. The first is green, which means the person can still walk around and do stuff. The second is red, which means that the person is lying on the ground and must be taken away in an ambulance. The third is a orange/yellow sort of color and when a doctor is working on the person the health bar fills up very fast with this orange color, after which the health bar changes to red with no health left. I dont know what this is for. Also I can't for the life of me figure out how to revive people. I figure when the doctor has his shock paddles out and the heartbeat meter is almost a straight line the person is dead. If anybody has any ideas it would be greatly apreciated.

I'm all for realism. The less changes I have to make myself, the better.
A side note. Mike, do the engines in LA carry jump pads or do just the Trucks and USAR carry them? Also, does USAR carry hose?
