NYC Heavy Tow crashes game

Hey Everyone

I have put the heavy tow truck from the NYC mod into a private edit of another mod. I am having a major issue with it. Everytime I try to select it in game, it immediately crashes to desktop. No error message pops up. I don't think anything shows up in the log file for the game either. Can someone help me. My log file is attached.

This was brought up in Discord just recently.  The talk was that you would have to do some heavy scripting to get it to work.

 

I did find something waaaay at the top of the file

What did you name the truck?

Okay so you see here

mod:Units/Vehicles/TEC/090towtruck/unit.xml not found or error in file

that leads me to believe there is an error within the file... can you upload your unit.xml file for that unit?

Oh sorry my bad. I still feel like as if you haven't completed something that your supposed to. 

Just to confirm you completed all the steps in adding a new vehicle to a mod?

Yes. I have done the same thing I did for the other units I added to that mod. I added in another Mary unit, added a Battalion 3, another EMS Supervisor and two more tow units.

So I had a look through the script files of the NY Mod.... I also played it a bit as well... the Heavy tow also acts as the crane.  That MAY have something to do with it...

 

Like i said from the beginning this was brought up in discord and the talk was that you would have to do some heavy scripting to get it to work.

 

I wish you well on your endeavours to getting this to work.

My guess is that they added the missing crane parts for the truck, or changed the vehicleType to ASF instead of FGR. Everyone thought it was a units.xml problem because we all assumed that every piece of the vehicle had been imported into OP's private project.

I fixed it the easy way of copying the original model and prototype folders and then putting them into the mod along with the unit photos
