Game crashes

Recommended Posts

Guest Nashville911

After reading this forum, seems like this is a common problem. Downloaded this from Direct2Drive 2 days ago. The game keeps crashing after playing the first mission in freeplay mode. I have the most up to date drivers and reinstalled this game twice now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached is the log file.

Intel Core Duo E6600

EVGA 8800 GTX

4 Gigs of Ram

Vista Professional

Hi and :welcome: to the forum,

I noticed two things in your logfile:

|Extension GL_ARB_texture_env_subtract not available
|Extension GL_EXT_clip_volume_hint not available
|Extension GL_EXT_vertex_weighting not available
|Extension GL_EXT_vertex_shader not available
|Extension GL_ATI_fragment_shader not available
|Extension GL_ATI_pn_triangles not available
|Extension GL_ATI_map_object_buffer not available
|Extension GL_EXT_paletted_texture not available
|Extension GL_ATI_separate_stencil not available
|Extension GL_EXT_texture_rectangle not available

command icon mod:UI/Game/Icons/Commands/M11EvacuateStation_normal.dds not found
command icon mod:UI/Game/Icons/Commands/M11EvacuateStation_over.dds not found
command icon mod:UI/Game/Icons/Commands/M11EvacuateStation_mousedown.dds not found
cursor mod:UI/Game/Icons/Cursor/M11EvacuateStation.dds not found

.
NOTE: After the ... the lsit still goes on, i just shortedned it

Did you ever try to change the graphic setting in your NVidia control panel, for example to enable the missing extensions?

About the missing files, are those in the directory? If they are try giving full rights to /911: First Responders/ and all sub-dirs and sub-files

Hi Stan.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply. As far as the command icon mod not being found, it is not in the directory. I've searched for all of them that were in the log file, but they are not there.

As far as the nvidia control panel settings, I have made some changes that other members suggested on this site and I still have the same problem. I was reading something on the atari site and it states that only AGP graphic cards will work with this game. Is this true???

Nope, I have tested the game on 3 pc's and laptop:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+

2 x 512 MB RAM

ATI Radeon 9800SE (AGP)

Windows XP Home 32b

AMD Athlon 64 3200+

2 x 512 MB RAM

MSI RADEON X450XT (PCI-E)

Windows Xp Home 32b

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ "EE"

4 x 1024 MB RAM

Sapphire Radeon HD2600XT (PCI-E + Directx10)

Windows Vista Ultimate 64b

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.8 GHz

2 x 1024 MB RAM

Nivdea Geforce mobile something blabla (DirectX10)

Windows Vista Pro 32b

And it worked on all 3 computers and the laptop

About the missig files, it's possible it just syays they are not in the mod directory but it will load those of base then. Just noticed that.
