UV Mapping in 3DS Max

Recommended Posts

I have attempted UV Mapping a particular model in ZModeler3 and it was an absolute nightmare. I have found it MUCH easier to UV Map in 3DS Max. My question is, can I export my UV Mapped model out from 3DS Max (as a .3ds) import it into ZModeler then export as a v3o, all while preserving the UV Mapping data applied in 3DS Max?

When you say you've UV mapped it...do you mean UVW? or an actual UV map itself?

If you've UV mapped it then it should be fine to export into Zmod and then just apply the texture in Zmodeler and the UV map should be saved then export to Em4

If you've UVW UnMapped make the template and texture it then do the same as above ^^ (Import and apply the texture in Zmodeler)

Hopefully this helps

My best bet would be to do this by UVW un wrapping.

Cut the most important bits (Sides, front, rear, top etc..) stitch them however needed (if needed) and make the template, then just texture over it :)

There's a lot of tutorials on UVW unwrapping:
