  2. I swapped in a new model and rotor of a new helicopter to replace the one in this mod with one representing the one in my area (Calstar). For some reason, I can callout the helicopter but as soon as I have it land, I can't return it to the air. It seems to want to start up as if it doesn't have enough fuel or something. The primary rotor starts and spins slowly but then stops. The engine sounds and then shuts off. I've tried returning it to the hospital, off map or just some other location on the map. The helicopter just sits there on the ground. Do I need to edit something else? Is there a setting that I'm forgetting? Kareem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBa416xODZo
  3. I was modifying the spotlight on one of the helicopters. Specifically, I changed the color just a bit to make the spotlight appear more bluish rather than the original flat white. In gameplay, this worked beautifully. Additionally, I wanted to make the light appear to vibrate like an actual helicopter spotlight tends to do when it's being shined on the ground. I planned to achieve the "shaky" affect by just duplicating the original light and making it flicker by increasing the flash frequency to some crazy high number. the problem is that in gameplay, the second spotlight stays up in the air and doesn't show on the ground. How do I make the spotlight "reach" the ground where it should be? Also, this second spotlight seems to lose its high frequency flash rate. It flashes but it flashes slower than the setting I used in the Editor. Any insight? Kareem

  5. I simply changed the texture (color and design) of the medical bag that the paramedic uses to heal a patient. When I start freeplay, the medical bag looks great. But it only changes when the paramedic places it on the ground while he begins work on the patient. Once he gets up and begins to walk with the bag, it returns back to the original color/style. I'm not sure if there is another file linked to paramedic that I need to update. Any ideas?
  6. I changed the model and texture of the coroner van. But somehow, in the process, I've lost the coroner script/commands. I can't get the coroners to load the body and then back out of the van to retrieve a second body. Everytime I empty the van, they exit the van with the body still on the gernie. So I'm unable to put more than one body in the van. I'm not sure why that has changed from the original script for this coroner. I never bothered the script files.

  8. Well. Hmmm... I'm not sure what I did incorrectly. The only edits made wee to removing the dds (image) file and replacing it with a customized jpg file. In turn, I also updated the v3o(model) file with the new name of the new image (jpg)file. I didn't edit anything else. I shouldnt have to do anything else if I'm only editing the skin, right? The model file is not being modified in any way. And no doors or anything else edited in Zmodeler. In fact never launched it.
  9. I have reskinned one of my fire engines and I correctly changed the file name in the associated .v3o file. But for some reason, when I view the model in the Editor, it shows correctly with the exception of one of the rear passenger doors. It still shows the original skin. Where else do I need to edit for this one door to reflect my new skin? Kareem
  10. I used one of the Fedex vans to make a coroner van in the LA Mod. I re-skinned the van and have it looking great! I added the rear and passenger doors. I also made sure that each door had the correct settings to allow for opening - Rear doors were configured to -125,125,z, revolve, person. but then I noticed that no doors opened when I emptied the van. So then, I changed the 'person' settings to 'special' and now only one rear door opens. Anyone have any ideas? I would like both rear doors to open and close when I'm putting the dead body into the van.

  12. Probably doesn't matter which one - American or European. I just need one where the skin is easier to redo. The one with LA Mod is so detailed that it's rather challenging to edit the DDS file.
  13. I'm looking for a medical helicopter to represent the one in my area (REACH or Calstar) but it's really hard to reskin the existing helicopter dds file. Anyone done a new one?

  15. I'm looking for a more newer van to use for the coroner's van. Does anyone know where I can get a "blank" van somewhere for Em4?
  16. I was playing around with the checkmarks. Should the object change as soon as I uncheck the box(es)? I did that several times, and the person does not change. Is it because the texture is jpg? or does the file type matter?
  17. Would love to see your finished stretcher. I have been wanting to modify tthat stretcher for quite some time. If you'r successful, would you make it available for download?
  18. I finally got to where I am reskinning people. I start by editting the image file in photoshop. I used PNG, JPG, and DDS files but when I preview the person in the Editor, he/she looks very metallic or shiny. I'm not sure what I did that make the model lose it's flatness. I changed colors too but stll have that metallic or shiny color. An ideas?
  19. Great point!!! I'm trying to reskin people and I notice every time I preview my new skin in the Editor, the skinned person looks very shiny. It's not flat like the original skin. What did I do wrong?
