  1. Thanks for the pics.

My bad on the typo :P

I meant I wasnt trying to offend you but your knowledge of LAFD seems rather lacking for being an LAFD FF.

And I pull up district maps of my area when I listen to my scanner :P But we only have about 20 trucks in the city, and most stations only have a pump or a quint so its not hard, and the county stations are split up where its rather easy to look up.

There's 16 battalions in all between City & County (repeat, used to be 18 battalions), there are harbor stations, there are splits between the numbers, some are shut down. Mike, correct me if I'm wrong, but here's the open stations. Station 1-21, 23-29, 33-44, 46-111, and then there's the harbor station, which is 112. There's some stations that have reserve engines, some don't. It's hard to keep track of whats where sometimes. Here's The battallion division. I went through some papers. I didn't see it posted before.

    Battalion # 1 Stations: 3,4,9,10,11,17

    Battalion # 2 Stations: 12,42,44,50,55,56

    Battalion # 3 Stations: 14,15,21,26,34,46

    Battalion # 4 Stations: 5,51,62,63,67,80,95

    Battalion # 5 Stations: 27,35,41,52,76,82

    Battalion # 6 Stations: 36,38,40,48,49,85, 101,110,111,112

    Battalion # 7 Stations: 1,2,16,25,47

    Battalion # 9 Stations: 19,23,37,59,69,71

    Battalion # 10 Stations: 39,83,88,90,99,109

    Battalion # 11 Stations: 6,11,13,20,29

    Battalion # 12 Stations: 7,24,31,74,75,77,81,91,98

    Battalion # 13 Stations: 33,57,64,65,66,79

    Battalion # 14 Stations: 60,78,86,89,97,102,108

    Battalion # 15 Stations: 8,18,28,70,87,96,103,104,107

    Battalion # 17 Stations: 72,73,84,93,100,105,106

    Battalion # 18 Stations: 43,58,61,68,92,94

Station 31's design is probably one of my favorites. Too bad it was closed (a long time ago, had great archetectural design).

This has absolutely no use to the game unless: A.) You add in a whole new map that's massive; B.) You want 106 stations on your map.

  2. this isnt his mod :P its mine, only reason it stopped it because i was in the hospital for some time. currently im at home and will start to work on mod once free

Sorry then. Hope all is well.

And...NPD said it. Do I really need ot explain everything to everyone, again? Here, I will make a little 'story' I guess with Wordpad or whatever and upload it. That sound nice?

And I have had only two mods cancelled. Can't anyone count? Yes, I have changed the name of the SD Mod twice, but I went into SLT to fast, so I changed it to a mod I thought everyone would like: 1980-1990s NY Mod. I guess not?

I expect I will be getting to skin soon, then, right :P

Let's see. Has anyone seen a Puppysboy finish a mod? I could swear I havn't seen anything of puppys get finished.

You change the mod names and do all this other stuff. If you would just focus on one mod, and complete it, it would be amazing, but, because you keep changing mod names and working on multiple mods, nothing ever gets done. Unless you can either A. Fine tune your multi-tasking skills and B. Finish something you start without changing it, I'd be afraid to have you as my employee.

  3. i ask hoppah not you!

Nice job breaking the ToS. You crossed yourself and then made yourself a suspect XD that's how it's done. You are now an example of how to lie about asking for a release date, then admit it.

I really like the idea of a K-9 Unit...but most k-9 units that i have seen are all SUV's not the crown vic. correct me if im wrong but i dont think that the crown vic is most sutible for the K-9

The Crown Vic is more than suitable for a K-9 unit. The Crown Vic is probably the most widely used car for any police force, from traffic to undercover. In California, Crown Vic's are used for K-9's (This is not from a guide, but from experience, and not me being arrested, but places I tend to be around quite a bit now) L.A, San Bernadino County, Riverside (City and County) San Diego, Orange (Their switching to Chargers, as are most police forces) and many more. Point is, It's suitable. I think SUV's are over the top.

Well if the back seat can seat two large males comfortably, it's fine for a german shepard. At least in my opinion

    Agreed.

I'd say that 75% of the PD's around the LA area use Crown Victoria's for their K9 units. There is a flat panel back there instead of a plastic bench seat. Plenty of room once you take that out.

    -d

Not exactly. Mostly depends on where you look, the Vic's are more maneuverable and can accelerate faster than an SUV, making them more suitable for all around use. other counties use them, not L.A

Liking the look of 2.0 btw!

    Great pic's btw Mike

Off Topic: Great news guys, I have to be Santa on Saturday. Just don't ask which one out of the 100's to 1000's in L.A, hahaha (Probably an exaggeration)

  4. After looking at it, and I can't figure how you put the date. It's either 5/12/09 or 12/5/09. I'm seeing that they say their stopping, but, w/ the effort put into it, who knows. 16 tons of bs may come out with a patch, and they may continue once it's out. If the 16 tons of bs decides on that.

  5. You said you didn't see where it was in the guide, i pointed you to the relevant sections where it was already included in the guide.

    Okay. Thanks again.

For water rescue are LAFD/LACoFD Rescue Boats launched at a boat ramp or do the boats respond from a station located at a port? If there launched at a boat ramp, what vehicle is used to transport the boats? Do any apertures have the capacity for a diver to suit up in route to a location?

    1. Depends on where it is. Port of L.A has stations with boats, and some other stations may have vehicles to carry the boats to launch at a ramp.

    2. I'm not sure.

  6. Who actually thought this mod was ever going to come out anyway?

    1. You don't have to be such an a-hole.

    2. There was talk of it releasing, and due to the major amount of scripting done, everyone who has watched it knew it would take a very, very long time. With what they have so far, it's probably into the millions, hundreds of millions, or more lines of scripts, due to the complexity necessary to use what they have created in probably almost a two-year time period. If you have played the RTS mod, then you would know how much they put into that.

If this patch 1.4 does get released, I wonder if that would open up many possibilities for other mod teams to make their maps much larger.

Hope it goes through for them!

  7. You know, I was going to reply directly to this post, but in the best interest of everyone I have completed the private EMS section of the guide found in this topic.

    Summary:

AMR covers an E911 contract territory of 83 fire stations and 16 incorporated cities

Gerber is the 2nd smallest company with an E911 contract and covers a territory of 10 stations and 2 cities (Santa Monica and Torrance).

Neither company provides E911 service, nor does ANY private EMS company provide E911 service to the City of Los Angeles.

Not with the city, they do contracts with the hospitals is what I meant. Santa Monica, of course. I grew up there XD sorry for the miscommunication. I'm not up with all the contracted cities. That's why we have the 800 ambulances and the ALS. EDIT: Actually, l heard a call for Gerber to do a transport this morning (12.4.09). Sorry Mike

  8. lol we had big discussion about this recently, and decided that its probably not do-able (or if it is, then very hard to implement)

Yea.. Some mod teams have figured it out in either stopped or upcoming mods.

Traffic Control in the game, just like in real life, is a difficult thing to manage. The cones themselves are simply road blocks that stop traffic where they are placed. Where they become most useful is at the beginning of an incident when you don't want to necessarily turn traffic around and block BOTH lanes, but want to just stop traffic and keep the opposing lanes open for your responders.

For example at a Structure Fire

    - First in engine gets on scene, and you put cones North and South of the incident to leave space for your engines, trucks and other apparatus to file in. If you direct traffic around or turn them around, you effectively block both sides of the road and you don't want that. This way everyone can respond in, set up, and you can have PD handle traffic diversions once you are all set up

Another example is to mark off a landing zone...

On some of the major accidents you might want to bring a helicopter or more then one in, by placing 3 cones down you can even stop your own units from parking and they will divert around the cones keeping that lane/area open.

Remember, you not only have PD for traffic control, but you can call the CALTRANS van with its arrowstick on the back. One thing I've found to be helpful is if I have a large column of cars I need to turn around, I will drop a cone about 5-6 cars back and have an officer just turn the first 5 cars then work back to the cone and start turning those until I get to a natural turn spot like the intersection. This gives me a good buffer and I dont completely tie up both lanes of traffic in case I need an emergency response through the area. Afterall, once they turn around, they're subject to red lights, and you can end up with both lanes completely filled and unable for emergency traffic to get through.

I'd like to add to this. Also, another use for the cones. When you have a medical call, on a busy street, set up 3 cones behind your RA, to make room for you to load the patient. I keep having to do this. That way you don't have to park it up on the sidewalk and make people go into the street. Make sure an engine or P.D arrives first to set up the control zone!

  9. When I was helping someone, I believe I gave someone in this forum my email over a p.m, nice job trying to hack me, you failed miserably. Now you will fall into my wrath when I find you ^^ :mad22::loldev:

  10. You sound surprised. As stated in the guide, the bread and butter of private ambulance companies are their private contracts with hospitals and care facilities. Gerber, for example, has the contract with Harbor-UCLA Med center for their Neonatal and Pediatric Teams, and of course, Gerber will also respond to every hospital in the county based on the needs of their clients. It is not unheard of for a patient in the Antelope Valley to be transferred by PRN or ProCare to St Mary's in Long Beach and back depending on the type of medical care and treatment they are receiving. At any give time, you can find half a dozen different ambulance companies at virtually any hospital and the IFT's are truly their #1 source of revenue and use.

I'm not surprised, it's just when you said city contracts have no roll, it kinda left a question, I didn't mean to put the "?!?!" as a surprise, it was meant as a "wait. I know there's some contracts out there from hospitals. Great job with the guide btw. I'm just going around being annoying. Thanks for clearing up my response to 4x4 btw.

Sorry for the post on that RA post in the submod section. This is off topic, but your inbox is full. So: I didn't mean to the city itself, lol. I grew up in Santa Monica, and my dad still lives there. He's an ex-city employee, so I already know a great deal about what they do, Jim Hone and my step-mom have been friends for many years, and my step-grandfather was an LA City Firefighter, then he moved to L.A county. He moved to county, because after saving 3 of his guys from a structural collapse, he decided "I'd rather fight mother nature than fight man-made fires." There's still a few guys around who knew him. I'll talk to you more some time ^^

I don't think there's anything else to add, I didn't see if you put in the call-sign for the BLS ambulance. Over the TAC, it's an 800 ambulance, lol. I think the call signs should be added in to the L.A mod.

    Peace

  11. ha got my files back :)

i never said you couldnt have a mod but its better to only have 1 of a mod with more ppl working on it than 2 of the same with less. i still want to be leader on my SD mod though. you could be co-lead or something. seriously, 2 of the same mods is almost as pointless as combining all three CA mods and calling it the San Angelisco mod. (lol, Demolition Man reference)

besides i already have plenty of pics of SDFD and SDPD

    Congratz

Agreed, an Angelisco wouldn't be a very good mod x.x lol

  12. Their good and stuff, but, especially siren 02, 04, and 06 are not used in Los Angeles. I have my own sirens for those, if you want them, just pm me, their private. 03 is iffy, considering that the first part is used, but the 2nd half isn't common. Siren 1 doesn't get a high-enough high. Siren 05, out of all of them, is the most realistic. I agree on siren 06.
