  1. It has a white stripe saying fire, and 4 compartments outlined on each side, not sure how it could be any more detailed in terms of the skin, besides E17 will be an off the map unit anyways and has been replaced so it probably wont see much front line use anymore. Plus the USFS trucks will make there return here as there fitting for the wooded campground area imo. Pretend its part of a national park or soemthing like that :P

I'm gonna relook it over, but put some markings on it or something, because atm, it's kinda... w/e. I'll take some pics of a real unit like that and send it to you. Maybe make the skin more like this unit just so it has some markings?

  2. Nope I am not sure any released mod has accomplished this and all I do is small tweaks to Hoppahs scripts.

Thatd depends..."Its not great" doesnt exactly tell me whats so bad about it, so how can I fix it?

Just look at it. Maybe put a few more doors, and clean it up and put some detail on it besides just a white 7, because there's a lot to brush engines. Rosenbaur brush engine. http://www.rosenbaueramerica.com/media/documents/pdf/wildland_eng.pdf The wildland engine is basically what your looking at, if you want to fix it up. That way it has detail to it instead of a red box.

  3. hahaha, i didn't even notice how much detail was on the suspenders at first. Looks perfect. Only thing from the previews before that can even need an edit is the helmet to the real FDNY style, and maybe the scba mask, but idk if you already did that. Where it is though, that's a lot of detail

  4. i agree cause this mod sounds like it will have everything that Emergency 2012 will have and then some. I am not going to buy the new game as I dont see any point in it. It is just going to be a mock up of Em4 with a few new things.

They aren't going to buy it, but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't. In terms of modding, we'll figure that out upon release ;) but for the time being, it would be nice to have as a time killer. :) only time will tell

  5. In the UK, they can close off lanes or entire roads and put temporary traffic lights etc if they're authorised to by the government. Can they not do that there too? It would make sense.

That's UK. In the U.S, Emergency Services will take over all traffic control for 2 reasons, #1, visibility. Most people pay more attention to what's going on at the scene instead of what's in front of them. #2 they get in the way. Relating to the mod, it would be probably very hard to script construction workers (which would be npcs) redirect traffic, then automatically stop when police and fire show up. Idk how that would work into the mod..

  6. Isnt LA the same way?

FF or Tim, is there any chance to see the old Rescue 1 in the mod?

Nope, we have just what firefighter111 just said below. Relating to the mod, will there be "broken" hydrants?

Nope, both LACoFD and LAFD run paramedic engines/trucks/light forces.

It'd be a bit of a waste since the New Rescue 1 will be delivered in a few years.

    Agreed

  7. All FDNY Firefighters are Certified First Responders (CFRs), which in New York State, is lower than an EMT. They can't be in charge of patient care, and they're only trained in the basics of first aid and cpr, it's kinda like a step above having red cross cpr and first aid. All firefighters are cfrs or above, although they can only operate at a cfr level. The FDNY has the largest prehospital care system in the world, so the engine is really to basically help out the ambulance dispatched to the call rather than get to the call and start treatment before the ambulance gets there

So.. basically, you can be a full on paramedic/firefighter, join the FDNY, and be stuck doing below EMT work? And for largest pre-hospital care, It may be large, but what if an ambulance isn't in the area and lets say your running a code, which turns out to be a person in asystole? Beginning CPR is basic, and every second counts. It's just what I see, would be a good suggestion too with a somewhat vital argument to me.(wouldn't happen in the mod because your doing 1 call at a time, but lets say if there was more. :P) BTW, on the way you guys set up the timer on the b.a's and stuff, it's all real time, like up to 10 or 15 minutes on the bottle, but does that mean the fires are actually going to take much longer to be extinguished, or is that just if you had something like. a HAZMAT incident. (idk if you guys included those.)

  8. First, I believe they said that the maps were actually going to be smaller since there were going to be multiple maps and you can play on each of them in a freeplay game. Second, they said that the units will take varied amounts of time to get to the scene based on where the units are coming from and where the map is. I.E. units from a harlem fire house will get to the map quicker if you're playing on a hells kitchen map than if you were playing on a china town map.

I thought the word was it was going to be 1 freeplay map to start out on V1.0, then they'd work out how the multiple maps would go. Idk though xD

  9. I was really looking forward to playing that mod. It looked really good. Does this mod feature pike poles and extension ladders that are actually useable?

    Already said.

! And how many times has eveyone said specifically this: "Hey guys, I can't wait for the New York Mod to come out!"? :prop:

You've said this more than any person in the existence of EMP in the last week alone.

Same here. I'm headed for FDNY as well. How old are you? Sorry for off topic(Francis)

Your not old enough and already you need to cool off and learn something for once. It's not easy. Don't go in thinking you know it all, or you'll learn nothing and get dropped.

It all depends on how much pressure goes through the hose. Younger people probably can't control it. I think anything is possible with these guys!

"Younger people"? Your not even 13 yet. Don't throw in additional info if you don't know it. Engineers keep pressures in a workable range on attack lines.

Emergency Captain, please, we don't need your 2 cents on everything, cool it down a bit. Anyways, after seeing all these questions and stuff, makes me wonder, what this mod will look like. There is no clear picture, just these little details that all lead up to the larger picture. It'll be good to see what goes on. Good luck!

  10. So would rope bags or stabilizing bars n' straps be possible? :o and can't wait to see what's going to be possible, especially with the medical equipment. are you going to allow players to be a part of the treatment of victims, or will it be automated i.e L.A mod paramedics restoring someone's red bar in a short period of time once treatment starts.

  11. To a hydrant?Or like a hard suction hose? I'm not sure. They have the hydrant thing, not the hose, well, not that I've heard. There's no lakes or anything IN the city.

I think he was talking about a hydrant it looked like. And yeah, they did a producers not showing a supply line from a hydrant to the back of the engine.

Your not even a firefighter as far as I can tell. >.>

They could use a supply line if they we're at a port.

There's plenty of places for a hard suction line. But the only time you'd need it is if you really need a 6" hose full of water, because that's quite a bit, haha. Not only that but it would be actually really hard to script that as water isn't a single source object

I had a crazy idea. Make an intro screen kinda like "Rescue Me" with the Von Bondies, "C'mon C'mon" off of "Pawn Shop Hearts". It's the song they use for rescue me, and it fits perfectly. :D I can try to take care of legal issues, i have some connections, haha :P

  12. If you decide to, it's Unitrol Omega, Unitrol Omega w/ Q2B, Unitrol Omega w/ Airhorn, or Unitrol Omega with Q2B and airhorn :P choices are up to you, but i'd do Unitrol with Q and airhorn as well as Unitrol with airhorn as the 2 main choices. :) find a good airhorn and good q2b if you decide to do it though xD

  13. did you even try out to play emergency DS on Gameboid, seriuosly Gameboid only emulate's Gameboy games and no DS games. emergency DS is as the name says a DS game.

about the programming thing. i have some friends who knows about java and help me with it. i will doing the lead, layout and resources not the code thing i will only look to it and assisting where needed.

You need to get the legal issues solved before you can continue with the production of this game. This is considered copyright infringement as it stands right now. You may be fined and/or prison for the use and solicitation and distribution of a copyrighted game. Consider changing the name or immediately solving the legal issues.

Hell yes, you can go to frikin jail. Fine is $10,000 minimum. Change the name or get it resolved right now. Otherwise [/report] you. That's not a threat either. Your doing something illegal right now, so it's more or less a fact. :)

  14. Well here is an idea. What if there could be a pop up pump control pannel like the G.U.I. That you guys made for the communication radio. Have like the levers that control the disharge and intake line, have different hose line sizes 1.75 in, 2 in, 3 in, ect. hook ups and lines.

It would get somewhat complicated, but really, for that idea, just have it so you can like. open the inlet for the water, choose between foam or water, then pump or turn off the pump. Maybe the airhorn button for fun xD

  15. Been a while since I've been on, looking sick!!!

maybe your all wrong and it's fireworks put on the street light so you'd think it was defective. then it turns out to be a class D fire and then you realize omg, it's just probably defective like it's been stated 200000000000000000000000x before. :P

  16. @ LACityFFengineCo287:

He's only ten. The game is not realistic, but the Los Angeles mod can give you some insight about the LAFD apparatus and increase general interest. Besides that, the game can be informative in a very basic way. For example: Firefighters have more tasks besides fighting fires. That's obvious for the most of us, but young kids might not know that (yet). So Voodoo_Operator is right.

Of course it's only a game for fun. There are no games which can REALLY train you for real life situations. Most 10-year-old kids also think that The Sims series are simulators. I'm just saying. I rather see kids playing the Los Angeles Mod than starting real fires or playing dumb shooters like Call of Duty.

Yeah, but this is more to everyone in general. I actually got messaged asking if it could really help with the LAFD.

Oh yes, and they actually make simulators that get pretty close to the real thing.

And Call Of Duty is not realistic. Respawning, airstrikes every few seconds, and a tactical nuke are not realistic in modern combat.
