  1. AMR A/V operates Type II (van-based) E350 based ambulances almost exclusively with a small handful of sprinters. There is currently a slow transition to use Type III Modular style ambulances throughout the three different operations. To be brutally honest, if you've looking for realism, the current ambulance model is not really the proper style. I am planning to release an AMR ambulance pack in the future but am willing to give you my current model as well as an LA County Operations styled skin for use in your mod. (While the model does have an exaggerated hood length, I personally don't find it too bad. Model by goog1967 modified by me)

If you have any questions regarding EMS, let me know...I work for AMR in LA County :holdglass: (Just not in A/V).

all fire units are inaccurate too, as they were all modeled after pierce engines and the squads are actually modeled after an old torrance fire squad.

    http://www.code2high.com/torrancefd91.htm

    see reserve rescue squad.

all la county squads have the higher rear end that have been made custom by KME.

  2. The only thing is the striping that was kept as it worked for the mod. Lettering is a different font, door seals are different as well. This a the first version of the skin and the finalized one will hopefully blow tise and the 7 month old one away.

Some solid ideas that I will explore, thank you.

uh.. no? same flag between the doors, same headlights, flashers, even the keep back 500 feet is the same. the main colors and striping is just recolored. even your arrows for the turn signals are still facing the same way which tells me its pretttty much the same skin. a few minor edits. Great work. also your window colors are even the same.

  3. Call it "Los Angeles", but there isn't the metropolitan area of Downtown in the map. It looks more like Compton, south Los Angeles, not the whole city, including also Santa Monica Beach and Hollywood. If you take a look at Manhattan Mod, you'll notice the map is bigger. So I think you should think about for an update to the map. If you appreciate my idea, I'll be very happy. In the meantime, keep having fun with the mod!

I don't come on the forums, but when I do, its when people don't pay much attention to detail.

Some of the busiest, gnarliest areas of LA is the South Los Angeles area. It is split into multiple smaller cities that are part of the county.

LA City areas : Watts, Manchester, Broadway, Florence, South Park, Central, Alameda, Historic South Central, Jefferson, University and Exposition Park, West Adams, Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw

County : Unincorperated Los Angeles : parts of Willowbrook, parts of the Broadway/Manchester area, Small section of Watts along the border, Hyde Park, View Park/Windsor Hills

In this area though not huge, has a large variety of population. From the poor run down ghetto areas of willowbrook, watts and so forth all the way to view park which is quite nice and hyde park, which is an older community.

It can't be Compton because Compton Fire Department exists and it is a non City covered region. Their mutual aid comes from LA County fire with their 911 ambulance coming from McCormick which runs with LA Co fire in the surrounding districts. (Lynwood, Willowbrook and Carson as well as multiple other cities).

Also, the LA river is on the west side of the map, ruling out South Los Angeles. East Los Angeles area is your next closest, but that is an LA County area. Making this map actually a more diverse fictional area of this, meaning that all of your guesses as to how it looks are wrong.

Randys donuts is actually located in an LA County area on the west side of the 405 freeway. Though there are plenty of tall donuts in the ghetto, this ones iconic. http://www.allensearch.com/storage/donut.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1305050812392

Continuing on your uneducated guess, The map for LA mod is the maximum size the game allows. the LA river takes up a large part of it as well as the walmart/ralphs parking lot. The Manhattan mod just has more structures throughout it.

Santa Monica is part of the county, City of Santa Monica, which utilizes Santa Monica Fire Department (SMFD) is not an LA City area.

Hollywood is split. The major area including all the clubs, walk of fame and theaters is LA County fire's area with McCormick as the transporting agency. (LA Co. St. 7 and St. 8) as well as universal studios is an LACo area.

Also, there's no dockyard for transport ships outside of San Pedro/The Port of Los Angeles. Concluding Hoppah made what made him happy with his project, as realism is brought to large amounts of scrutiny.

As I've followed LA Mod through all it's releases, it is a fantastic mod and should be enjoyed for what it is. Learn to mod and make what you want to make, but you have a lot to learn if you think that this game has no limits.

  4. Well, I can't argue about PRN or LACoAmb; they don't exactly fit in with gameplay anywhere if they don't provide incident response services. Though I would think that there has to be some circumstances, however rare, that they'd provide some sort of assistance.

You're mistaken about him making a white LaCoFD engine; that would be the National Park Service units you're looking at. I think the only LACoFD unit he did was a Red with Gold stripe Engine 2, which I believe is accurate.

The only time that PRN would run 911 is if all other backup companies are used up first, Ambuserve runs backup 911 as well as Elite, but its rare. Care and McCormick back eachother up in the south gate/huntington park area.

  5. LA County does not run ambulances.  Various private services, mostly AMR and McCormick, provide EMS services to LA County.

LA County uses McCormick from Palos Verdes all the way up to Malibu, including west hollywood, lynwood, inglewood, gardena, hawthorne, lawndale, redondo beach, west hollywood and other unincorperated parts of los angeles. Care covers a decent area, AMR was kicked out for the most part... Care has everything LACo east of lynwood and stuff, they also run OC. AMR only has like. Antelope Valley. another provider is Cole Schaeffer for Pomona.

LASD SWAT Units in the LA Units Pack were made by other author.

So I cannot use the unit's skins.

The ambulance is used as a squad, it was meant as transport in a possibly large catastrophe, but they are a non-transporting unit. They had them at the west hollywood "parade" a few months ago, and their used as backup squads when their front line goes down or to staff extra squads for events, because per contract we're only allowed to run bls units, and if its als LACo medic comes onboard and they go code 3 to the appropriate facility.

This mod is mostly innacurate. LACoFD doesn't use white engines, PRN is an IFT company that runs bls hospital to home or hospital to hospital transports, LA County Ambulance does either hospital to hospital transports or a man down team for emergencies around the hospital. This is an innacurate representation of LACoFD and it should be used more as a private reskin. PRN as a 911 company is truely innacurate.

If you want to make this accurate I can get pictures of the brand new McCormick Modular types and vans, as far as engines there's plenty of pictures online.

  6. amr lost like. all of los angeles county though o.o mccormick took 3 zones which covers a huge chunk of everything along the coast and up through augora hills and north and west hollywood, and calabasis, care has huntington park and those areas over there down through o.c. i work for mccormick xD

as far as modelling, things like carson or even inglewood or hawthorne or lynwood wouldn't be difficult, no highrises. lynwoods nice because you can model st. francis, or carsons cool because you can model harbor ucla. [Rampart].

their also busy areas so your call volume would hold true.

  7. goes to 194 then it goes into camps. you could choose 2 or 3 stations in a battalion. such as : 21s, 161s and 162s covers the mid section of hawthorne. 18s, 170s and 14s covers from west to east along inglewood to south central/athens. 58s and 38s covers ladera heights. 147s and 54s covers lynwood and most of south gate. 41s and 147s cover lynwood and willowbrook, as well as a part of the imperial courts and crdf off of alameda. the ambulances that goes with these are mccormick 1101, 1102 and 504 for hawthorne, 1501 and 1502 cover the south part of inglewood, 901 and 903 cover the north part, 1801 and 1802 cover ladera, 201 and 202 cover willowbrook, 1201 covers gardena, 1701 and 1702 cover carson, 801 and 802 cover lynwood/south gate. these are the busiest areas that la county fire covers with the private ambulance mccormick. they operate out of seperate stations. hope it helps

  8. if 7's responded into 10s or vice versa it would need to be the end of the world. thats we ho responding into carson or carson or carson into we ho. should choose something specific. like a battalion, like : 160's, 161s, 162s, 21s, 158 and 159 is the battalion for hawthorne/lawndale/gardena, or 170s, 171s, 172s, 173s, 14s and 18s, 58s and 38s is for inglewood/south central/ladera heights. 7s is up in hollywood and 10s is in carson with 36s, 105s, 116s and stuff.
