  1. Post #220, and you did'nt suggest it would be useful. Neither did I suggest the FRIT would be.
  2. How would an army tank be useful in the game ?
  3. Just another quick photo that may be of interest. Fire Research & Investigation Team (FRIT) van. Also some pics of one of the midlands air ambulances & police helicopter (at Wolverhampton airport)
  4. Was playing the Hamburg mod last night, and the use of the Positive Pressure Ventilation fans (PPV's) for ventilating a building of smoke makes the game that little bit more real, and the use of Light portable pumps carried on the PRL's makes it easier to fight fires where the hose lines can't reach. Would this be a possible function in the game ?
  5. Kookas did you recieve my e-mail with the advert pictures ? Regarding the CCTV cameras on fire engines in west mids, a select few who've had trouble in the past have the cameras fitted on the dash with a screen (pic attached), off the top of my head i can think of Erdington, Ward End, Canley, Foleshill, Highgate, Kings Norton, Ladywood, West Brom and Dudley carry them. Knowing little about WMAS, i do know a bit on the mobilising side Cat A - is what they call a 'hot response' meaning a life threatening call, difficulty breathing, chest pains etc.. Cat B - would still be an emergency but not that life threatening, i.e RTC persons trapped, call by fire to house fire persons reported Cat C - low level emergency I believe. I also believe they have cat D calls too. With a Cat A you'll get a paramedic car/bike. Also in some parts of the West Mids there are community first responders. Not sure whats its like around the rest of West Mids but where I live they get given yellow alfa's with green markings (no blues), and they'll get called to Cat A calls only within 8 minutes of their location if the nearest available vehicle is further away than 8 mins. Something else I had a think of, for each fire engine in WMFS they have Mobile Data Terminals (MDT's) which enable the truck to recieve fire calls and print off the details whilst out and about to save having to pass the details by radio. And to save on keep calling up on the radio the functions of mobile incident, in attendance, mobile available, closing home station are available for incidents by means of a touch screen computer to update the status. Also the function of sending stop messages for incidents using the MDT, would that be something that would be possible?. Also whilst at jobs, a series of informative messages must be sent (every 20 minutes i believe) giving an update on each job, something that would be kool to do is maybe a function to type an informative message into the game? something like that? Just an idea
  6. They were on standby. Brierley Hills machines were on a job, pic taken when D021 had just returned. A couple more random west mids pics attached for peoples interest 1st is a 15 pump fire in Ladywood a few years back. And even earlier, a 20 pump fire in Solihull in 2004.
  7. E-mail sent with some more pics of the ads on the side of the trucks. And below, a couple of links to some bull horns. http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrivs/?saved=1 http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrivs/4487371786/
  8. More or less the same with the ranks. Each PRL runs with either a WCdr or a CCdr 1 pump stations have a WCdr + CCdr per appliance 2 pump stations (with 2 24hour trucks) have a WCdr incharge of the 1st PRL with a CCdr, and a CCdr incharge of the 2nd PRL 2 pump stations with a 12 hour truck, mostly all the time have a WCdr incharge of both PRL's. Not sure if many people are aware west mids have a number of trucks that are off the run between the hours of 10pm - 10am, these being the 2nd pumps at - A4 Erdington, A7 Handsworth, B1 Solihull, B3 Coventry*, C7 Ladywood, C9 Hay Mills**, D1 Oldbury, D2 Brierley Hill, D8 West Bromwich, D9 Dudley and E8 Tettenhall*** *B3 Coventry has 3 PRL's, 2 of which are off the run between 10pm - 10am **C9 Hay Mills has 1 PRL and 1 Targeted Response Vehicle (small fires unit) off the run between 10pm-10am, the same as D9 Dudley with 1 pump and TRV OTR. *** E8 Tettenhall's only PRL is off the run between 10pm-10am, leaving no truck available in Tettenhall, with fire cover coming from E5 Wolverhampton Merridale St. Pic of B3 Cov attached, with their 3 PRL's and 2 HP's (one of the HP's a reserve not on the run). & One for BritishArmyReserveCadets, your local truck parked up at Brierley Hill.
  9. May interest a few people, new West Mids volvo.
  10. The dispatch system sounds awsome! In regards to the ISU (incident support unit) mobilised on make pumps 5, the units basically carry extra lighting, ground monitors, salvage sheets, barrier tape/cones, aqua-vac's (large industrial size vacuum cleaner capable of sucking up water) all the general bits and bobs you need at a job (picture attached). West Mids now have their own welfare units, which were converted from the 1984 command units, not sure where these are based but go onto large jobs when requested. I shall send you over some more info and pictures on the pods Kookas Regarding the BA emergency crew. These are normal PRL's, with a trained crew in emergency BA rescue at selected stations. They are proposed for the job not in distance, but the closest available BA emergency trained crew with a Watch Commander A (Sub O in old money) with 5 riders. Cradley are usually the BA emergency crew for the South Brum area (Kings Norton, Northfield, Billesley, Woodgate, Bournbrook) and B3 Coventry are usually for the Solihull, Sheldon, Bickenhill side. Picture attached of Cradley's machine (their old one) at a make pumps 10 in Kings Heath a few years ago. And seing as this mod is in kings heath! a pic of the job which was on Grange Rd.
  11. Hi, Have recently downloaded the Essex mod, what an awsome mod! Had some time on my hands this evening, so had a go at making W54 Canvey from scratch. Pictures attached.
  12. Could somebody explain the concept of the A/B/C/U-Dienst vehicles ? as in what type of ranking officers would ride these vehicles. Also what is the status 1 function with the vehicles ? vingebil this is version 1.2.2 Thanks
  13. Hi. Hope someone can help me I've recently downloaded the Florian Hamburg mod. Its a fantastic mod ! but I cant get my head around the controls to alarm the fire service vehicles. I would like to know what the following functions alarm, FEU K, FEU, FEU Y, FEU 2, FEU 2Y, FEU 3, FEUBMA, THK, THY, THWAY, PDRZS, THX and TIER. Also what the GW, RW, SEGT, KMRD, ASGW and TVNOT vehicles are ? And how to turnout the Reothenburgsort/Veddel 1 & 2 fire engines out. I've also had a few problems with some of the incidents in freeplay. I had a vehicle fire and removed the car using the tow truck, sent it to its parking space, but the mission would not complete ? And the tree on the road, i used a firefighter to remove the tree off the road but again the mission would not complete. Thanks in advance ! I would appreciate any help S
  14. Hi, Recently my EM3 went doo-lally so I had to un-install the whole game. Ive re-installed and downloaded the dusseldorf mod, and the patch 3, and ive put the mod into the mod-installer, but it doesnt seem to work in game, and theres no 'EM3' picture on the icon for the mod in the folders if you see what I mean ? Its been that long since I had to do this before, so any help would be appreciated ! Thanks
  15. Recently downloaded the Hampshire mod for EM3, fantastic mod ! However, how do I reduce the ammount of traffic on the map ? i've edited the freeplay parameters traffic frequency which has no affect ? The ammount of traffic moving around on the map prevents me from playing the game ???
  16. I'm trying to add more events, such as car accidents in other places on the map of freeplay using the Bremerhaven mod, can someone please explain how I do this. Thanks in advance S
  17. I know there is a few UK mods in the process of being made, and also I belive there is already a West Midlands mod ?, however just in the stages of in the back of my mind at the moment ! i'm thinking about a dedicated West Midlands Fire Service Mod, a very realistic West Midlands Fire Service mod. With all the vehicles used in West Mids', Dennis Sabre XL Pump Rescue Ladders, M.A.N Water Tower, E.R.F Hydraulic Platforms, M.A.N Prime Movers with a wide range of demountable POD units. Also i'd like to interact the new dimension vehicles, Incident Response Unit, High Volume Pumping Unit, Detection Identification & Monitoring. I'd like to make the mod as realistic as possible with the smallest pointless vehicles also included (for the realism). I'd like to have interacted into the mod special pieces of equipment, like on some of the em3 mod's ive played, the ground monitors, the portable pumps that come out of the vehicles, light masts things along those lines to make the vehicles and the mod as realistic as possible. However ! lol I'm rubbish at modding ! i've got the ideas, got the drawings and photos, just need a bit of help Anyone game for the challenge ? :1046275747_biggthumpup:
