  1. that one is possible for yourself to make, just reskin one of the crown vics.

    Far easier said then done. I suck in photoshop but plan on attempting it.

    what does it add to the mod?

    Just something to replace the current SUV or the Hummer.From the pics I have seen its not uncommon for them have more then one type of SUV in there fleet so it adds realisim actually.

    the mod is about Los Angeles and LAPD mainly, not LA County, and if you want it you could just copy the current SUV and reskin the copy.

    reskin the current vehicles by using the tutorials available in the tutorial section :)

    I notice a trend here...some people simply dont have the skill to do so.

    and one last thing, Hoppah does not want suggestions for his mod, there are several suggestion threads but they have been closed as people did not look through them and kept suggesting the same things that Hoppah had already said no to.

    Well there suggested vehicles people may want to see more so then actual suggestions for the mod.

  2. If I look in Los Angeles Mod v1.8\Models\Vehicles\01 LA Ambulance. for example there is already a cv_ems2.dds and a cv_ems2.v3o. So would i just need to unlock the v30 in there? How do I unlock it. I read hoopahs tut and it said something about open editor, then go to Modifications Unlock but all i see is unpack. If i got to unpack, and the browse to cv_ems2.v3o but it says the file is already unpacked :s

  3. So I have tried infranview with all plugins, tried dds converter posted here some where, tried using the plug in on nvidias site for photoshop. None of them will work. Photoshop says the file-format module can not process it. Infranview says it cant read the header file.

    Can any one suggest how to open these dds files? If needed my PC specs are:

    Intel Core2Quad Q6660

    4 GB Patriot Ram

    EVGA Nvidia 9800 GTX+

    Some one here stated the station a LA world Wide Airport Police unit at the Airport in free play, as well as an LAX Crash Tender, 2 LA Port Police near the port Area and I took this a step further by putting a CHP Crown Vic at 2 of the highway interchanges(on w00d's map of course), and since fires get out of control so easy at the camp ground at the north east corner of the map since response times suck to this area, I keep a US Forest Fire Engine stationed there. However there are alot of crimes in this area some of the time. So I figuered why no take the above aproach a step further and provide a Park Ranger, Conservation Officer or something along that line.

    They mostly stick to SUVs it seems but I did find a few Crown Vi and even Impala Units. In my area game wardens typically drive a black or dark green Chevy Tahoe so it might be easiest to simply modify the fire or ems supervisor suv to a green or black paint job and a police(red and blue) light bar rather then a fire/medical(red) lightbar.

  5. Unfortunately, I have yet to try my hand at lights so I don't expect to be looking into that at this stage (it is a good idea though).

    At least the redirection works even if we can't see the lights.

    I actually deleted all the lights then copied the set over from the Fire Captain SUV. The only glitch is the directional light is on at all times, but of course it only redirects when the button is pushed. Good enough for now though :P I figure sooner or later I will look at the Fire SUV closer and see if i can work out the details to fix the cosmetic flaw.

    I am not sure if you have noticed, but if you look at the rear window, the BC SUV has command vehicle written, whilst the EMS SUV has Paramedic written.

    That is generally how I tell them apart. Plus of course the EMS/Battalion written on the side windows.

    I know but i figured if there was an EMS symbol on top, it would help in those times when your rushing to move units from one scene to another.

  6. ^they use yellow lights here. However some stations dont have the lights and while i havent seen a firefighter stopping traffic on dispatch, i have seen them stop traffic for the trucks to back in because at the time the station did not actually have dual garage doors for each bay. Just the old fashioned single front entrance to the bay. In fact most stations here are like that. I think its the only one with rear entrances in this city, then again its the only one in the city thats been remodeled or built in the past 10 years. There is a rural station that was built not long ago because a tornado wiped out the old station and it was more cost effective to build then repair, but the parking lots big enough for the trucks to do a three point turn around to.

  7. ^yeah sorta, but it gives me some where to start. I was thinking of maybe setting it so when you sound the station alarm the light turns red for traffic. Doesnt seem like it would be a hard script to write, just use an if command i would think. I just dont know how to implement the script IF I can even write it. But I am sure i can find a tut on implementing the script. Thanks again jsutton.

  8. jsutton, you will find an xml file in C:\Program Files\WizardWorks\911 - First Responders\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.8\Units\Vehicles\Fire Department\105bcv edit the xml and put the above content in there. I missed a " when editing the code originally, but fixed it above. It works on my game when you send in a BCV however it does not work for the SUV that comes standard at the station when you start the game. This will have to be done in another xml file i assume or in the command editor.

    Any more help?

  10. For the most part the map works fine for me. The only problems i have are usually the parking lot by the airport. A car tries to park in a spot thats taken. This causes a massive traffic jam and most the vehicles will not respond to my officers redirect command. Also at the roundabout which is about a block west of the hospital, a green semi always seems to get stuck causing a traffic jam. And on rare occasions the construction zone in the forest area on the western part of the map has been known to cause major traffic jams.

    Is there a good tut or can some one provide a fix for these areas?

  11. well, the amount of people per vehicale can be changed in that unit's xml file..., that should make the seating issue clearer

    Ok well since the LAFD Supervisor SUV is set to Firefighter RW does that mean I have edit the units.xml in C:\Program Files\WizardWorks\911 - First Responders\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.8\Units\Vehicles\Fire Department\010RW ?

    If so the XML says the limit is 3 but i can only seat 2 in the SUV.

    As for freeplay thanks that enabled the camaro. Thanks. Now I plan to try to add vehichles to the list that arent in there :P

  12. I am using the map by w00ds. When using the editor I notice some vehicles like a police camaro not listed in freeplay. How can I enable a vehicle for freeplay?

    Also, I see the Fire Battalion Chief SUV is set to a 4 passenger limit when looking at its abilities in the editor. However in game I can only put 2 people in there. I am also using the EMS Supervisor SUV mod, and have no problem putting 4 people in it. The only difference I see is in the Task Force Vehicle Type that the EMS is set to Ambulance NEFand the LAFD is set to Firefighters RW. How can i fix this?

  13. I also have 2 Port Police patrol cars parked near the port to respond to incidents in their area to assist LAPD.

    If you set Port Police to Patrol do they have a different route then the LAPD/LASD.

    EDIT: If by chance any one doesnt know the answer it is no, they dont have different paths.

    I personally dont like the LAX units except the crash tender. We dont have any yellow ambulances here, so maybe thats why.

    Not a problem. It confused me a bit, but then i took the time to read which alot of people probably wont :P

    I noticed that problem too, and I know what I did, I deleted the lights... woops, I was clearing out something I was testing that I didnt like, and I must've accidentally deleted those lights... I'll add them in when I get a chance and release the patch

    Ah glad to see it wasnt hard to troubleshoot, hope the fix is as easy for you as the trouble shooting :P

  15. 21-10-2008 - Accident bug Fixed

    Well the major bug that caused the problem that there are no accidents is fixed. I took me a few houres to discover the cause of it, but it is ok now.

    I will release the map again as soon as posible. Need to fix a few minor bugs and make a install guide.

    I experienced this bug in 911 last night. It was on a bridge in the southern area of the city.

    EDIT: Never mind the car is submerged under water. I just didnt see it the first time.

  16. Just a note in the first post it says

    But you said "Well, It's been a long long while, but I come bearing 1.8.2! This one isnt a patch, so you dont need any other versions to download it,"

    Just thought you may want to clear that up so some one doesnt get confused.

    I also have a small bug it seems. On the EMS Supervisor car the directional lights are not working on 1.8.2. The function itself works as cars are diverted but I cant actually see any directional lights.
