  1. First off theres no need for two threads. Secondly, most of this can be covered with searching but I will gice you a quick run down of your questions: 1)What program/how do I build Custom Objects and Vehicles? - Zmodeler - Photoshop to make texcture. 2)How do I apply textures to said Buildings/Vehicles? See 1 3)How do I convert these files and such so that they appear in the game's editor? See 1 4)Obviously, engines and things are going to need objects in them, Pump connections, etc. (Which Are All In The Editor) and are obviously going to need to be available on the engine, so they will need to be linked on to the objects. Is that done in the editor or via scripting? - Both 5)Spawn Points, Vehicle Boundaries, Fires, What The Fires Look Like, How They Spread, When They Spawn, Where They spawn, is that all done in the editor or somewhere in scripting? - Scripting 6)What EXACTLY is done in the editor? Placing building on a map texture. Placing virtual objects linked to scripts. Placing events, etc. 7)What EXACTLY is done in the scripting section? Every single command relies on a script written in C++ which is something you learn in a night. Now as for a team, good luck, but theres tons of people out there right now trying to create a mod that, no offense, like you have no idea what there doing. First you need to learn all these things or atleast some of them, if you want to have any chance at creating a mod. The people who do know how to do these things are already busy with project(s) so sorry to say but your on your own. You can always post on the forums and we can help you to an extent bu in the end you gotta learn to do things on your own(not saying you dont, just we see this all the time, some one starts a mod, realized how hard it is, and it dies off in no time).
  2. You dont seem to comprehend, let me explain it so you can understand. RESCUE operations are not typically handled ny LAPD Underwater Dive Unit/Divers. Never did I say the diver itself was useless, nor did I say weather Hoppah could add it or not did I? Because I dont see that. I could have sworn I simply tried to explain how the procedures operate in LA, so excuse me for bothering to enlighten you, to some extent, on how water rescues are carried out with in LA. I would enlighten you on the purpose of the LAPD Underwater Dive Unit and its members based on research I have done, but meh, I have wasted to much time already explaining this would be "another useless vehicle" at this point.

  5. ^I always find things like this interesting, but in all fairness Vegas isnt LA. What kind of Hazmat truck is that? Well the Heavy Rescue is called USAR in LA, but none the less, in response to your question..the answer is simple.They have extrication tools. By default its the only vehicle on the map by default, aside from MAYBE the BLS Engines, that have extrication tools. This is how it is in LA. If extrication tools are required a USAR has to be sent, or in the county a HES(Heavy Equipment Squad).

  8. ^keep in mind that the LAPD Underwater Dive Unit wouldnt bring anything new to the mod, just a reskin of a vehicle, and even then with in the current scope of the LA Mod theres no event that would trully warrant this unit as such operations would technically be handled by LAFD,LACoFD, or LA Lifeguards, or LACo Lifeguards depending on the area.
  9. There are, although there not a full fledge traffic light like at an intersection, but a pole with 2 blinking lights that flash yellow when they go to enter the roadway.

  12. Heres in the city MVA Response is a 1-3 cops typically, really depends on weather they need to divert traffic. If they do then could be up to 8 cops. Sheriff's and State Troopers may assist PD depending on the location. 1 Engine 1 Rescue Truck which has to bring jaws from downtown, which I really dont get, as that would easily be over a 5 min response time just for Jaws. X AMR Ambulances = However many is needed In the County: 1 Engine 1 Rescue Truck depending on weather the department carries Jaws on there truck. The majority of the county departments rely on large chassis "Ambulances" to carry extrication tools. 1 Air Evac depending on how far out it is, in some area Air Evac responds no matter what. X AMR Ambulances = However many is needed. 1 County Fire Ambulance(only one county Fire has a RA but they can transport) 2-3 Sherieffs and or State Police if there in the area.

Mikesphotos has been busy as of late but he always gives Hoppah insight on how to keep things realistic but even then some things have to be sacrificed or altered for games sake or for some stupid reason(stupid reason example, might not be true, but he may have put an LAPD station in rather then LASD as LAPD are the glory boys that get the national attention usually, not LASD, so people would whine and cry for an LAPD station) Good luck on your project and if you need help post in the forums, and I will try to help.
  14. You use the search button for starters, and secondly you need to know C++ programing language to accomplish a descent mission. Theres a script generator for making basic missions. If you wana try it use the search.
  15. What are you talking about? No one has done anything, although im considering makeing some changes he mentioned and possibly putting some of the houses on lock down making you force entry with an axe.
  16. 1) Yes it will and the virtual objects(VOs) will need to be resized as well. 2) Yes 4 scripts have to be changed. LAFirestation,LAFirestationstart,LAtofirestation, and LABatlaionChief. 3) Latofirestation.script. For the sake of realism in LA, the mod is set up perfectly or as perfect as you can get. The layout of the stations was chosen to represent the 2 most common types of stations in LA. So if you want LA Realisim, your good to go. Furthermore LA does not have a large rescue ambulance nor does LACountyFD(LACoFD). The unit is one of the very few fictional units in the mod. The rest were done out of necessity for functions with in the game, like the Mass Causality Unit. As you may already know, the SCBA gear in the game is simply there for looks, and rarley do you have to chop down a door, so the only thing you mentioned that becomes of real use is having a set of Jaws on the Large RA, but I love the ideas none the less.

  18. In the end we all rely on Zmodeler 2 as its one of the few modeling programs that can export to v3o(emergency format). Some people use zmod exlusivley, Hoppah for example, does all his work in zmod I believe. Others use 3ds or sketch up. Even if they use those they have to export to 3ds file and import that in zmodeler to get it to v3o. Oh and the only other app I have heard mentioned is Rhinoceros or Rhino(i forget). I suppose Maya could be mentioned but its very very expensive. Over $1,000 USD I believe, and even then it doesnt export to 3ds, or anything 3ds can import that I noticed.
  19. If you place the stop light and virtual objects on the map yourself, yes technically you can, but the other mods lack a firestation control panel so you would have to work around that.
  20. Click the shortcut on your desktop for the LA Mod. The screen will go black and stay that way for a few. Then hit freeplay or campaign and go from there.
  21. Eh so he says, what he doesnt realize is the XML for the units have changed so you wont be able to disaptch some of Shanes custom units like the green cv for one example.

  23. Knowing hoppah, and the ny mod guys, never say never If you find it to easy you can always tweak the freeplayevents file. Personally I enjoy fighting big fires so i turned up the gas explosions to 2.0, and now have a bit more big fires that I need like 4 engines/ladders for.
